ITunes Music Now 100% Plus

So I just saw on iTunes that everything is now the Plus format. Yet when I click upgrade, it doesn't show me anything. Will it be adding more stuff to upgrade soon, or will I have to repurchase all my non Plus songs and videos.

Confirm that the item you wish to upgrade is still listed in the iTunes Store. Some items, apparently for which Apple could not get Plus versions from the record companies, have been removed.
For those items that are in the Store, apparently sometimes, for various reasons (replacement of a track in the Store with another copy, slight changes in the release identification, etc.) the link between the track and your Purchase History can break, which will result in the track not appearing as eligible for iTunes Plus upgrade even though it exists as Plus in the Store.
Contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form at the bottom of the Purchase Issues FAQ web page (there is no category specifically for this issue, so I'd suggest just picking one under the Purchases - problem area) and explain the problem to them. It may take a couple of email exchanges to get past the "form" email responses, but eventually they should work out a solution for you. You may need to provide the track name, artist and order number so they can confirm the original purchase.
Regards.

  • Tried to backup Itunes music, now it's gone

I'm getting the error message on all my Itunes songs, "original file could not be found." The songs don't seem to be anywhere on my computer...A couple weeks ago, I dragged my Itunes music folder onto my flash drive. Now I'm out of the country, and my flash drive is at home, so I'm not even sure if I'm on there. Are my songs somewhere on my computer and I'm not seeing them? In the future how do I backup my Itunes library onto a flash drive without losing all my songs? It sounds incredibly simple but clearly I am not getting it...

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Deleted all iTunes music, now can't download past purchases.  Help!

I've somehow deleted all my iTunes music.  All the file names are still in the library but every time I select one I get the "can't find original file" message and now it won't let me download my past purchases.  How do I fix this?

Do you still have them in your computer's recycle bin/trashcan that you can restore them from ?
If not then what you can redownload will show under the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage. If music shows there (it won't in all countries) but doesn't have the cloud symbol against then try deleting the tracks so that they are no longer listed in the Music part of your library (where you are getting the 'unable to locate' message) and they should then get the cloud symbol in Purchased. Or you can tick the 'shows iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences if using a Mac) and they should then show with the cloud icon in the Music part of your library so that you can redownload them from there (again you will need to delete the missing tracks for them to potentially show for redownloading).
If you've changed countries since downloading them then you won't be able to redownload them, nor if the rights-holder has removed them from the store.

  • Buying iTunes music now on an older 10.2.8 system

    Help!
I've bought lots of music on iTunes, but stopped for about six months. Tried to buy music this weekend, but iTunes kept telling me to download iTunes 7, then when I did, I couldn't operate on my 10.2.8 system. Is there anyway to skip iTunes 7, and just keep buying music the old way, or must I purchase the 10.3.8 or 10.4 upgrade and use iTunes 7?
    Appreciate any answers.

Can you tell me where to find iTunes 6.0.5?
I just checked and I'm still running 5.0!
It's a shame they're making me change ... if I didn't even have to be aware of what version I was running, it must have been pretty good software!
(I don't want to have to know the model number of my shovel ... I just want to use it to dig a hole!)
I keep getting the notice to upgrade to 7 when I try to buy a song ... but I can't see buying new system software and paying $$$ to replace/upgrade all of my existing applications just to buy a 99 cent song!

  • I can't drag and drop iTunes music files into Roxio Jam 6 anymore and, now I have to import music one song at a time by using the " " or "-" buttons on the bottom. What is going on? G5 Dual 2 Ghz and OS 10.4.11

Hi. I have not used Roxio Jam for quite a long time and I just wanted to make a few CDs. Jam used to work easily and well. I have a problem. I can't drag and drop iTunes music files anymore and, now I have to import music one song at a time by using the "+" or "-" buttons on the bottom. What is going on? I trashed the preferences file and restarted Jam to no avail. I also have selected that Jam should open files with iTunes in the Jam preferences. I have a G5 DP 2Ghz PPC  machine with OS 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2.1 and Quicktime's version is 7.6.4. I have 2 GB of RAM and the machine has dual 1.25 Ghz. processors plus a 500 GB HD. Can anybody give me any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Larry

    I found an solution.
Uninstalling AirParrot as well as the two offending AirParrotDriver.kext and APExtFramebuffer.kext files in System>Library>Extensions was the fix. All problems disappeared.

  • Time Machine now only works if I exclude iTunes Music folder

Time machine has worked very well for me in the past until recently. I get the "unable to complete backup" message every time TM tries to do a backup. I've tried erasing my backup drive (LaCie External 500GB) and starting over. That didn't work. I erased the disk again and started from scratch, but this time excluding the "iTunes Music" folder. The backup worked! I then removed the exclusion and I got the error again. For now, I excluded the folder again and all is well. There is more than enough room for my all this data on my external hard drive, but for some reason it just won't backup when I include "iTunes Music". In the meantime I'll be manually backing up my iTunes Music folder on an other drive.
Any help getting everything to backup to my LaCie drive would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Backed up itunes music, library, now songs are missing??

    Hey all,
I recently had to restore my laptop to factory specs, which meant I had to remove and re-install my itunes. I made sure before I restored it to back up all my itunes music folder and database/library files to an external hard drive. As I have over 11,000 songs in itunes (~60gb worth), this process took several hours, but I felt sure everything was backed up and I was good to go.
Wrong! When I re-installed itunes, it asked me to choose a library to use, and so I chose the location on my external hard drive, and all was fine until I unplugged it. Then it wouldn't locate any songs. So I re-imported all my songs and playlists over that were on my hard drive, but it's telling me that some songs can't be found. They should be in there but they're not. So I used a 3rd party software app to move the songs from my ipod to a folder on my computer, but they all have weird names (the way ipod organises the songs) and I don't know which song is which.
To make a long story short, after deleting and re-adding my itunes library, I now have 2-3 copies of each playlist (including the standard ones that automatically are in itunes), and 2 copies of several songs, one of which works and the other doesn't.
Since I still don't have several (possibly 100 or more) songs in my itunes that I do have on my ipod, should I just delete the whole itunes and start over?
All I really want is my itunes library back and the info like the original date added, last played, play count and ratings.
    Oh, and I'm using itunes 7.5 b/c I tried 8 and didn't like it.
I really hope someone can help answer me b/c I've been unable to add any new songs to my ipod for 2 months now!

I have now resorted to uninstalling, redownloading, and reinstalling iTunes again.
    That won't fix anything.
If you want everything to stay on the external...
    Hold Shift and launch iTunes.
    Select *Create library*.
Select a folder on the external.
iTunes will create a new iTunes folder.
Inside this folder will be a folder called "Automatically add to iTunes".
Drag all the music on the external to this folder.

my old computer crashed so I used a program to download my ipod contents into itunes.  Now when I sync it only uploads @ 100 of my 8000 songs ?

Any error messages when you sync the iPod? Do all of these tracks play okay in iTunes?
How is your iPod configured to sync music from your iTunes library?  In other words, what options and configurations do you have in place from under the iPod's Summary and Music configuration tabs?

hi, I finally got lucky and past the "other" memory status issues when syncing. Now I'm "waiting for changes to be applied" sync stuck all night (itunes yesomite iPhone 6 plus). is this a bug? I have not had a single successful sync with yesomite.
please help. this issue prevents music from syncing. I have set the sync setting to convert songs to 192kbps AAC to save space, I figure that could slow the sync
down, but it's hanging indefinitely (I've left it for 24 hours with out it completing.)
the the only music that appears on the phone are songs purchased from the iTunes Store. 95% of my collection are rips from my CDs.
    thank you for any help!

Yeah it's pretty sad that $1000 phone they put out you such cheap memory It causes issues, I have iPhone 6+128 GB actually this is the second brand-new one they gave me because they keep affording it trying to act like that's not the issue because they're too stupid to know how to check what memory is in each one before they give it to me when I have told them multiple times my back up runs perfectly fine on two 5s phones and a 6 64GB of course running MLC memory.
I told them it's because just like the write ups say I have 809 apps but I have not even put all my music on the phone so I'm still running 50 to 60 gigs free and it crashes and reboots itself sometimes in multitasking and more often than it does that in between multitasking I get a black screen for 1 to 2 seconds in between apps and upon start up the Apple logo screen will flicker and do weird things, One of the genius idiots asked me if I could just delete some of my apps, really that's the answer to fix the phone the customer needs to limit the amount to apps they put on their phone, why the **** get a 128 gig if you can't put on anything you want to it guess they need to start selling them saying you can only put a limited number of apps on them, it's really is a **** joke, I have over $20,000 of Apple merchandise easily and always get the new phone every year but I'm starting to reconsider my decisions in the future because this company is starting to go downhill, The reason water not recalling the phones is because they're dealing with their top-of-the-line thousand dollar phones in this case and most people don't have over two or 300 apps so they're not having as many issues, so basically they have messed up phones they just don't know it in their hands and Apple is just too **** greedy to recall the phones, they'd rather sell customer spends that only work half ***.
Stuff like this will be the downfall of their company, all the people that stay with them because as long as you don't jailbreak their stuff it normally just works without issue will be soon jumping ship if stuff like this keeps up, because I can guarantee they got me thinking now.
not that I wanted to know or should I be expected to but I even offered for them to open up my brand-new phone and just replace the memory to MLC memory which is something I shouldn't have to do with a brand-new **** phone, they should just make one with the right memory and give me a new phone, actually just don't sell customers that buy the top-of-the-line phone from you trash ones in the first place that would be a great option.
what burns me up the most is when you talk to AppleCare and Genius Bar they try to act like the issue isn't there and they're unaware of it, they say that Apple hasn't come out with any information about it, yeah that's because they don't want to recall the trash.
Apple has became nothing better than your run-of-the-mill company, android is becoming just as good as they are sad to say this since I have been an Apple fan for so long but there is no excuse for BS like this they have been looking for options to fix my phone for a month now this is not the way you should treat loyal customers, I would've been better off keeping my 5S and in the future just switching to android.
it's pretty sad that the company has no idea how to check which memory is in their **** phone and even after I offered to let them just replace the memory in my new phone by opening up my brand-new phone to replace it they have no idea how to do that either, yeah Genius Bar sure, I think that should change the name to idiot bar and Apple don't care instead of Apple care.

  • I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!

I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!

What happens when the iPod is plugged in?  anything?  any errors?
Why is 50GB of music gone?  All music should exist on the computer.  Only a fool would rely on a single device which could easily be lost or stolen to store their content on.

    Hi,
[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/xmarks-sync/?src=search Xmarks] is a bookmarks/history/tabs backup/sync utility. It is not a feature of Firefox. It is an extension which had to be manually added or perhaps could have come with another extension.
If you have registered with the service you have to enter the username and password to log in to the service. Otherwise try pressing the '''Esc''' key on the keyboard and after Firefox opens, go to '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''', click Extensions on the left and look for Xmarks and '''Disable''' to disable it or '''Remove''' to uninstall it. If that doesn't work, start Firefox in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode.] In the first screen choose '''Disable all add-ons''' and '''Make Changes and Restart''' and repeat the above procedure, but this time, re-enable all the needed extensions except Xmarks. You may also have to re-enable the plugins after clicking '''Plugins''' on the left).

  • Moved iTunes music folder to HDD, Now iTunes Can't Find it--Help :-)

I finally was able to get an HDD that actually mounted and now I have moved my iTunes music folder based on the instructions here: iTunes: Moving your iTunes Music folder. I printed them out and followed them step-by-step.
Before moving the folder iTunes Music from my internal HD (~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music) to the trash, I played random tracks with no problem. So I moved the folder to the trashcan, then emptied the trash as instructed. Went back to iTunes to play some music, and now all of my tracks have the dreaded exclamation point in the first column. When I click on a track to play it, I get the message "The song 'blah blah blah' could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
Of course, I can select 'Yes' and go through the steps and locate the files on my HDD. This, however, is not an optimal process with over 2400 songs. Does anyone know what went wrong with my relocation?

    PowerBook G4 PowerPC   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iPod 30G, MyBook 250GB HDD, iTunes 7.1.1

I've used that method to transfer music from one drive to another literally dozens of times and never seen it fail in the way you experienced. I'm at a loss to explain how you could have followed the instructions, successfully transfer the music to the new drive, and yet have the iTunes database still think the music should be on the original drive.
What I can suggest are two solutions: One for it you don't care about keeping your playlists, rankings, and playcounts intact. The other for if you do care.
Fast fix but loses the meta data: Quit iTunes. Open your home directory, find the music folder and open it. Trash everything you see in your music folder and restart iTunes. All your music and playlists will be gone. Open your new drive on the desktop, find the folder with your music, and drag it into your iTunes window. Your music will be imported into a new iTunes catalog and then you can create your playlists.
Keeping the metadata: After quitting iTunes, move the music back to its original location by dragging the music folder(s). Unmount the new drive and play some music. Remember the songs you clicked on and showed iTunes how to find? Do those songs all over again and once you've verified the iTunes library now points to all the songs properly, delete the songs from the new drive and repeat the steps to move them again.
