ITunes music playing problems

Hey I just downloaded and installed 7.1 iTunes and have played a few songs on it but now it won't play any songs at all. As I start up iTunes and when i play a song it says it playing but I cannot hear anything and the dial of the song indicator is not moving. If you can help I would really appreciate it.

I have restarted my computer and turned off the extra sound settings.

  • HT204291 Is it possibly to have iTunes music play out of both the computer and AppleTV while using Airplay Mirroring for the TV?

Is it possibly to have iTunes music play out of both the computer and Apple TV while simultaneously using Airplay Mirroring to view the computer screen on the TV? Whenever I try, by clicking on 'computer' radial button for volume in iTunes Airplay, the TV automatically reverts to the Apple TV screen. I usually end up using preferences to 'bring back' the audio to the computert while leaving the picture on the tv, but this means i have to suffer from the inferior sound quality of my Macbook internal speakers.

  • Blackberry desktop software and itunes music sync problem

Ok so I have a Blackberry Torch 9800, OS 6.0 and the current blackberry desktop softer version 6.1.0.35.
I was previously able to access all my itunes music and playlists via the desktop software. But since I completed the software updates not all my music is loading into the software and none of my playlists are showing up.
I'm not sure if this is related but I believe that twice my phone has rebooted itself. I've also noticed that the new desktop software has had issues detecting my phone. My main concern is the problem with the music sync issue.
In the interim I have just dragged and dropped music files onto my memory card. Can you please let me know what I can do to fix this if anything....thanks.

I just experienced the same thing and after feeling frustrated for about an hour and wishing I'd learn my lesson and stop upgrading software for no reason, I went into the Desktop Manager software Device Settings.
Under Device Settingsgo to the Media tab and you'll see a Music Source option. I found that my default setting was on Windows Media Player instead of iTunes. Once I switched it back my view refreshed and my playlists showed up again.
    Hope this helps!

  • My itunes music playing at random times

Right before walking into a conference room, my iPhone 5 starts playing my itunes music.  I did not have the iTunes app playing at all AND the phone was on silent.  Anyone experiencing the same thing, any fix?

That is not the behavior I am seeing. Itunes is just playing through a playlist and all of the sudden music just quits. When I look at the itunes controls, it appears to still be playing a song but no music is coming out. I have to pause and hit play and the music resumes. It is NOT an issue with the speakers as I have the music both playing out of my PC speakers as well as my stereo and music stops out of both of them. There is no activity (typing) being done on the computer when this happens. Sometimes it happens on the 2nd song and sometimes it gets through 5 or 6 songs before it stops.

  • Itunes\Music Store Problems -Any Help Appreciated

Recently apple gave us (yes gave) a new intel Imac, after about 4 repairs to the mainboard and PSU on our 1 year old G5 Imac. Needless to say we were quite happy. Well after about 2 weeks and I think this coincides with a couple of the recent updates, Itunes started to randomly lose songs. they would deauthorize randomly and then increment the same. Well we resorted to contacting apple (under apple care now...) They have been no help nor has itunes\music store support. To their credit they have been willing to deauthorize the computes on the account 5 times in as many days. Although the emails asking the same questions over and over are quite frustrating. Currently the symptoms are:
    1) Random incrementations on authorizations for one computer
    2) Out of Memory error when you try to authorize until 5 authorizations are reached
    3) Music Store -50 error
I have checked our router and cable modem etc no problems there, I can turn off the hardware firewall and no changes are had. I don't have any suspect software running, and have removed any itunes related widgets etc. Most recently I have rolled back itunes to 6.04 but still no dice. My wife (whose computer this is) is at her wits end as she is a tried and true "mac-girl" and has managed to convince almost everyone we know to switch or at least grab an ipod and go.... Needless to say she is currently regretting that... If anyone has any ideas please let me know I am currently sitting on $300+ of music I can't even get burned to CD or listen too. Apple tech support etc has been pretty worthless and it seems like these errors are rampant atm, you would think a "We're working on it" would be coming. Oh well Thanks in Advance.

I did repair the permissions as I have learned you are suppose to. The firmware should be up to date as well. With regards to a b\u when the G5 was acting squirrelly the last thing I did was purchase an external HD to ensure that we ddidn't lose the music. Is the common problem the 10.4.7 update or the Itunes 6.05? I have rolled back to Itunes 6.04 but haven't touched the OS. It's not something I really want to do but at this point will try almost anything.

  • ITunes music sync problem: "drag & drop" works; "Sync Music" doesn't?

I've been trying to sync a few new playlists of music to my iPhone 3GS with frustrating results.
I'm hoping someone can explain to me what I may be doing wrong.
In the past when I wanted to add new music to my iPhone I would use what I refer to as the "Sync Music" or Music tab method.  I would rip the CD, create a new playlist for the album, plug in my iPhone, select it under the Devices list in iTunes then click on the Music tab up at the top of iTunes (I have "Sync Music" checked and "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres" checked.  I would scroll down through the list of playlists, find the new playlist I created and check the box next to it and sync my phone to add the new music.
This has worked flawlessly for years.  Until now.
The last three albums I have tried to add this way will not sync to my 3GS.  The music will play perfectly on my MacBook in iTunes.  I ripped the music the same way, created the playlists the same way, and I can even get as far as the list of playlists under the "Sync Music" check box in the Music tab.  I can see the new playlists in this list, I check the boxes indicating I want to sync them to my phone, but when I click Apply and then Sync, the music never shows up on my iPhone.
I keep every new album I import in it's own playlist, so being able to select which playlists I want to sync to my phone is definitely the method I would prefer to use, but since it wasn't working I tried checking the box next to "Manually manage music and videos" on the Summary tab.  This of course disables the Music tab and unchecks the box next to "Sync Music".
I'm not too familiar with using this method to manage my music library, so maybe someone can show me a better way to do this, but with the "Manually manage music and videos" box checked the only way I know to add music to my iPhone is to drag a playlist one at a time from my iTunes library to my phone in the devices list.
This is where I get confused.  For some reason the new ablums I ripped, which I was unable to sync the way I am used to ("Sync Music" check box/Music tab method), can be dragged and dropped onto my phone and they are copied to the phone without a problem.
    WHY!?
Why, am I able to sync these ablums using this tedious and clunky drag and drop method and yet I'm unable to copy them to my iPhone using my prefered "Sync Music" checkbox method?
If you have any idea why I'm experiencing these problems or if you have experienced a similar problem please let me know.
    Thank you.

This problem started last year when ios 8 was released. I think apple is trying to force users to buy music on iTunes store and that's why it's impossible to sync other music and also that's the reason why they haven't solved this serious problem. That's really disappoints me and i'm angry with apple because i have like 10 gb of music in mp3 and i can't sync music from iTunes to my iPhone.

  • IPod Touch 4G Music Playing Problem

I have an iPod touch 4g and whenever I click on a song it either doesn't play or it skips to another song and plays that song. When I click the shuffle button for all songs it will go to a song and play that actual song or not play at all. I cannot play playlists or songs I have speciffically chosen I have tried restarting and shutting down but it still does the same thing. I had recently transferred purchases to itunes on another computer if that helps. Please leave suggestions on how to stop this!

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync and resync all music
    - Restore from backup
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • ITunes Music quality problem

Just downloaded the newest iTunes 6.0.3.5 and now all my music has a jittery sound, as if it's playing while being buffered or something. Is anyone else having this problem? When I play my music in other players like Windows Media Player they sound fine, but in iTunes, it's all messed up. Any body help?

    hi Marie!
let's start by working through the possibilities on this document:
iTunes and QuickTime for Windows: Songs and other audio don't play correctly
(since you've got itunes 6.0.3.5, you'll need to try the QT 7 version of the waveout settings quick fix.)

  • Homesharing music play problem but Airplay works!?

I have a very strange problem. My setup is as follows, Airport Extreme, Apple TV2, Imac 27 (Source), Ipad (Remote app),Pioneer VSX 1020 receiver (Sound output)
Using one of my IOs devices with the remote app to control the Apple TV2 directly and select music from my home shared library doesn´t give any sound output.
Selecting in the remote app the library on the source (Imac) and play the same song from the library through Airplay does give sound !?
Now when i put on my TV connected to my Pioneer receiver the direct Apple TV2 control of the home shared library suddenly gives sound ouput.
This gives problems as nobody can´t use the source to play it´s own music when my TV is off.
    How to solve this ?

Just updated my Apple TV and it seems to have solved this problem.
Strange thing is still when i switch my TV off and the Apple TV was playing content,it all stops.
The Apple TV 2 seems to have intelligence build in that it can check through my receiver if the TV is still on or off.

  • Music Playing Problem

I downloaded the new version of itunes and its rocks! But, when i play music, every few seconds it makes a static sound, and its really annoying. • ITunes music sync problems (clouds and dotted circles)

I think this is a common problem but I tried several solutions I found online and nothing seems to work.
When I connect my iPhone to iTunes I have several songs on it that have a dotted circle and that are in grey font. These songs are mostly from an album I purchased some time ago and then removed from my iTunes library since I did not want to hear it anymore.
I would like to get those phones off my phone. I tried to uncheck the "sync music" box and made a sync but this did not work. I also tried to remove all songs from my iphone using the storage management settings but this did not work as well. On a related note, there are several songs that show up on my phone and that have a little cloud next to them. These songs do not show up in iTunes when I connect the phone.
So in summary: My iPhone shows songs (with a cloud) that I do not see in iTunes when I check what is supposed to be on my phone. And what I see in iTunes (the songs with the dotted circle) do not seem to be on my iPhone.
This is driving me crazy. Any suggestions anyone?

The songs with the cloud symbol don't appear in iTunes because they aren't on your phone.  Those are links to your previously purchased music in the iTunes store so you can easily download them by tapping the symbol.
If you want help with the "dotted circle" issue you should post this question over in the iTunes forum.  The only thing I can suggest is to delete all your music (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage>Music, tap Edit, then tap next to All Songs), then sync it back using iTunes.  If you already tried that unsuccessfully, try posting over in the iTunes forum.

  • ITunes music card problem

I bought a gift card from Coles in Australia (whre I live). I logged on to my iTunes and tried to redeem my card but it said the gift card was for Oz and not compatible with the US store. I thought I was in the Oz store but obviously not. How do I get in? I gather one can access a music store just with an address and a gift certificate.
    Help anyone?

  • Previewing itunes music plays for 5 seconds and then stops

Hi and Help!  When I attempt to preview a song on itunes, the song plays for about five seconds and then ends.

Perhaps try resetting your iTunes Store Cache.
Go "Edit > Preferences". In the Advanced tab, click the "Reset cache" button shown in the following screenshot:
    ... and then click OK.
Restart your iTunes, and head back to the Store. Are you getting full previews now?

  • Icloud music playing problem

If all my music on my iphone is in the cloud how do I make it easily and quickly available like when I want to do a shuffle and it only plays the few songs that have been downloaded?

    You can't.
The iCloud icon available with a song means it hasn't been downloaded and the shuffle option will not automatically download songs.
