ITunes network connection lost

I have for the last couple of days, after updating to the new itunes in countered a problem. Every time I check for available downloads I get an error message.
"Unable to check for available downloads. The network connection was lost". I have tested my partners itunes and his seems to be working fine, we share the same  iMac but have different logins, so I'm sure it's not got anything to do with my internet connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Simon

  • ARC3: RFS network connection lost at host 'stdbhost'

    Hi there,
having oracle 8.1.7.4 64 bit on Aix 4.3.3 replicating on a twin machine.
While archiving many logs within few minutes i'm having this error:
ARC3: RFS network connection lost at host 'stdbhost'
ARC3: Error 3113 creating standby archivelog file at host 'STDBIDIP.IDI.IT'
ARC3: Error 3113 creating archivelog file 'stdbhost'
Then after few seconds it retries and succeded. My clause in the primary db is:
    SERVICE=stdbhost OPTIONAL REOPEN=180
The problem is that sometimes it does not succeed so i loose some archives and there's a gap sequence. Unfortunately i loose some archives that after the backup of the primary are deleted so i can't apply get them. The only way is to restore those files. But i can't every time do this!
My database was replicating from about two months without problems. Then we activate it for test and now i rebuilt it but now having problems i mentioned above.
I have followed the same procedure.
I was guessing why i'm getting that error. How can it be solved? I see that on the primary site sometimes more than one archive processes are activated. I was wondering if on the standby site on rfs process was enough to handle all archives arriving at the same time. If not is it possible to activate more rfs'?Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

I am willing to bet it is not linksys. Most likely it is your service provider blocking p2p.
This is a major battle with service providers. If you do some research on this you will see what I am talking about.

  • Can not restore iPod, iTunes Network Connection Timed Out

Cannotrestore iPod, iTunes Network Connection Timed Out. I have updated my iTunesversion, but still can’t perform iPod restore. I turned off my firewall, tried numeroustimes for the past 3 days

Did you also disable your antivirus?  Some users reported that they had to configure their security software to no automatically startup on boot up and then reboot their computer.  Just turning off/disabling without rebooting did not work.

  • Cannot download from itunes network connection cannot be made

I'm getting this error message when I try to download anything from itunes or app store. "cannot download from itunes" "network connection cannot be made.

it shows this beside the pending app "-stopped (err = -3150)"

  • "network connection lost" while installing Ovi Sto...

I'm getting a "Network connection lost" error shortly after the installation of a downloaded app is started. The status bar gets to about 15% and then the installation is interrupted.
I've tried using WiFi and non-WiFi connections, but the result remains the same.
I've noticed other threads on this forum about a somewhat similar issue but no real solution appears in any of them.
My N8-00 was upgraded to the Belle OS over the weekend and it caused most of the apps to be uninstalled. Now I'm trying to get them back but fail to do so because of the error.
Are there any working solutions for this very annoying error?
Or do i have to wait for Symbian Clara (or whatever name they give it) to be installed?

Performing hard reset will set the phone to its default setting. You may have to check the settings of your phone again.  To define the your access points, go to settings> connectivity> settings> network destinations> Internet> options> new access point> Automatically check for available access point> yes. You can choose GPRS connection first and then run the same steps and then set up your WLAN.

  • Itunes network connection reset (error -3253)?

OK...I'm just about over iTunes. I have been purchasing more and more songs on my iPad from the iTunes store and then when I start up iTunes on my home PC, it starts to download the songs, as it is supposed to, locally to my hard drive. However, every single song does not complete downloading before a message comes up that the itunes network connection was reset. The song in Downloads indicates "err = -3253.
Based on various discussions, I have added all of the apple sites to my security software (webroot), uninstalled and reinstalled itunes (pointless since it never really uninstalls), deselected "Allow simultaneous downloads", looked to see if I have conflicting services running (I don't), and pulled out several hairs clicking the OK button everytime the error comes up and clicking Resume All....
Ultimately, I will get songs to download completely, but there really is no excuse for this.
I  run Windows 7 Professional and have Verizon FIOS as my service provider.
Anyone else experiencing this (I've had this happening for well over a month now)? Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks!

This started happening to me about three days ago and meant iTunes Match was not working and nor was it possible to download updates to apps.  The internet was otherwise fine on my computer.
I did a few things which did not work:
    1. Sign out of the Apple Store and log back in
    2. Turn off iTunes Match and restart it
    3. Remove uneeded items from the start up menu
    4. Restart cable modem
    5. Restart Apple Time Capsule
    6. Restart iTunes
    7. Restart Computer
    8. Update DNS settings from Google's to my ISP
I then did the following which did work:
    1. Update DNS setting to Open DNS (as in James Robert's post above) and hit Apply
I only updated the settings in the network system preferences panel against my Ethernet connection.  I did not amend anything in the Time Capsule or Modem.
Frankly fed up that so much tinkering is needed at such a detailed level.

  • ITunes network connection has been reset: Anyone know the meaning?

Within the past 2 days I have started receiving a "Network connection has been reset" error message when trying to purchase new apps or updating already purchased apps. Does anyone have better insight than I into its meaning and purpose? Thanks!

+I have dial up so i don’t know if this might be causing the problem, is there anyway to fix this?+
Sounds like the dial=up connection is dropping. My advice is to get it from a friend's house that has high speed internet. Put the iTunes Setup.exe file on a USB memory stick, take it to your PC and drag it to the desktop. Then run the install.

  • InDesign Crashing on file open - Missing Font / Network Connection Lost

For starters I am using InDesign 5.5  When I open the file, either by clicking on the file through finder or or opening it through indesign I get the following error message:
The document "file name.indd" uses one or more fonts which are not currently available on your system.
I can't press either Find Font or OK - wheel spins then after 30 seconds or so and then I get the message:
The network connection was lost for the file "file name.indd", or the file was modified by another process.
Press OK. Nothing happens. Activity monitor says Indesign is using 100% of the cpu and not responding. The file is on my local machine and nothing has changed on it since the last time I opened it without issues 3 days ago. I'm not running anything that could be using the file or any of the images the file uses.  I have downloaded and installed the font that was missing and the error message hasn't changed.  Any ideas?

Try the option: save a copy for duplicate a file
    Hope,it works

  • Cannot sign into itunes - Network connection was reset.

Updated to Itunes 10.6 this morning and when the process was completing, i received an error staring "We could not complete your itunes store request.  The network connection was reset.  Make sure your network connection is active and try again."  I have tried the two fixes found on the support page (date and the advanced security options) but the problem persists.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • InDesign quits after network connection lost error

InDesign all of a sudden is crashing with the following error:
"The network connection was lost for the file InDesign SavedData, or the file was modified by another process"
    followed by:
Adobe InDesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected. Please restart InDesign to recover work in any unsaved InDesign documents." (button) "Return to Finder"
    then:
"InDesign quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
Then I get the Adobe Crash Report.
Restarting InDesign gives the same results, both opening a file and opening the application directly.
I have trashed InDesign Preferences and tried throwing away the InDesign Recovery folder, but no change.
    Specifics:
    -InDesign CS5, ver 7.0.4.553
    -iMac Core i7, OS 10.7.4
-I am not in a network environment—all InDesign documents are local.
    -InDesign CS4 works okay.
Here is the the crash report:  http://pastebin.com/1ZvvSJCa
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

Adobe support tells me Adobe does not support saving files to a server.
Neema: i understand that,InDesign does crashes on server.we have very limited support on servers
Neema: Please try to save the file locally on machine and see the behaviour of indesign.
Jack: I've worked with indesign since the beginning and i never had that problem... only when inadvertently pulling the plug from my computer
Jack: Having files locally is not an option
Jack: Can you tell me what the line in the crash log means?
    Jack: 2 DataBaseLib.dylib 0x000000010efb048a SUIDS::HandleLostNetConnect(IDFile const&) + 74
    Jack: this part specifically:
    Jack: HandleLostNetConnect(IDFile const&) + 74
Jack: I have done extensive searches for this error (specifically with the + 74 at the end. I find many with a different number. Each number means a different reason why the network connection was lost, but there is no mention anywhere of 74
Neema: i do apologize for the inconvenience Jack.Adobe donot recommend saving or opening files from server.
Neema: we donot have support on servers. And cannot commit on its behavior on server
    Jack: That is disappointing!!
Jack: I still need to know the meaning of HandleLostNetConnect(IDFile const&) + 74
Neema: We understand that. But application behaves differently on servers.
Neema: we apologize but we donot know the exact meaning of the error you received. As stated this varies from server to server
