Itunes never shows the battery level as charged.

left the shuffle connected overnight yet the battery level indicator in itunes remains a charging thunderbolt. any clue what gives? don't have the issue with the classic.

hmmm ... apparently an itunes glitch: it failed to notice when the other ipod was sated as well (the classic is a bit easier than the shuffle to independently determine its battery status). seems to be a random failure as for the last couple connections, the battery status for the shuffle was updated.

I rarely plug into iTunes, update, sync because iTunes does not show the word "Device" and does not show an icon for my device. I cannot find help no this topic under the help topic and it is becoming so time consuming as I am pretty much iPhone iTunes dumb. Can someone help. It may just be giving you false battery info. Unless it actually dies prematurely, Its just a software error. I would recommend restoring. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414

- If you did not charge the iPod for a couple of hours before you did the reset then charege and reset:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Then connect to your computer and if iTunes sees the iPod restore via iTunes.
- Next see if recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
- Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I am unable to tell when the battery is completely charged. I have showing the battery symbol with the bolt-this is present even when the device is not being charged. And it is always showing 2% charge.

4 days old MBP 13". First boot up showed charge of 100%, next boot up showed battery fully charged but the percentage read 98% in the subsequent boot ups the battery is fully charged but percentage reads 96%. Whats wrong??

I recently purchased a 13" MacBook Pro. On my first boot up, the battery charged to 100%. I didn't operate this thing on the battery. The next time I booted this thing up, the battery was charged but the meter read 98%. In the subequent boot ups of this machine, and I still having not used the battery, my battery is fully charged but the meter now reads 96%. IS there some problem with the hardware or the software? hey thank you for the info. Based on what happened, the battery has gone up to 100% just once when I booted this machine for the first time. On subsequent occasions the Battery Charged symbol has appreard at below 100% charging. I have been using my MacBook Pro for the whole day with outlet power and never did the battery go back to 100%. The system regularly lets the battery drop to about 95% when on the charger, then recharges to 100%. This lets the batery exercise "just a little" all of the time and saves the recharge curcuits from overuse.
Regualr occurence for me.
Also ... you need to let your battery work at least once per month. Let it run down to 40%, but not less if you can at all avoid it. Running thr battery fully dead will shorten the battery life significantly.

I found it was album artwork being too big for the 4 gen itouch music app...
use

to resize the album picture files to 500 max and the problem should be solved.
You will need to run it in the Command Line to change the resize values from the default 250 pixel 80% Quality jpeg.
So...

which equals 500 pixels and 90 percent quality.
Took 24 hours to get through 20,000 files but it worked and now my itouch doesn't crash.

It may be that your iPhone's set to sync automatically, which can potentially remove any music that's been added to the device. It may help to set the device to 'manual mode,' so that you have complete and total control over what content is on the device.
