ITunes never shows the word "device" so, I cannot backup, sync etc
I rarely plug into iTunes, update, sync because iTunes does not show the word "Device" and does not show an icon for my device. I cannot find help no this topic under the help topic and it is becoming so time consuming as I am pretty much iPhone iTunes dumb. Can someone help. I don't even know whether I will be able to find my way back to this community. So, if someone has an response and they don't get a thank you from me it is because I am lost in the system. ANY IDEAS?..THANKSIf you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Then make sure that you have the right boxes chacked to sync. See:

Itunes never shows the battery level as charged.
left the shuffle connected overnight yet the battery level indicator in itunes remains a charging thunderbolt. any clue what gives? don't have the issue with the classic.
hmmm ... apparently an itunes glitch: it failed to notice when the other ipod was sated as well (the classic is a bit easier than the shuffle to independently determine its battery status). seems to be a random failure as for the last couple connections, the battery status for the shuffle was updated.

Every time I plug my iPhone into iTunes, it says 'The iPhone "Leon's iPhone" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-54)'. It has never happened to me before until a couple of hours ago!!! So, I decided to totally wipe out my iTunes Library and update it to the latest software. I also updated my iPhone to the latest software (5.1.1.) - and still, even after all this, it still says there is an error and cannot be synced. SERIOULSY APPLE, WHAT NEXT?!!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

It may be that your iPhone's set to sync automatically, which can potentially remove any music that's been added to the device. It may help to set the device to 'manual mode,' so that you have complete and total control over what content is on the device.

i was doing the software update to my iphone 4s and my phone died. i pluged it in and when it turned on after the white apple the screen showes the blue itunes logo over the word itunes over an image of a charger. i tried reseting my phone. i cant figure out how to get past this point

I manually add my songs to my iphone, after dragging it from itunes, it shows the syncing message but the songs do not show up on the ipod. I was able to copy songs successfully before. Please help.

My Ipod 4th Gen will not turn on. When I hook it up to the computer I get the ITunes symbol and the usb device on the screen of the Ipod. When I go to restore the Ipod it will not restore. I am getting unknown error code 6.

You may want to do a Restore on the iPod in iTunes. The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes. This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings. If the problem is caused by data corruption in the iPod's storage, a Restore should fix it.

All it means is that you ned to plug it into a computer and restore the iPhone using iTunes. This doesn't necessarily mean it was jailbroken.

Yes, I agree - 10 seconds can be a bit short for a backlight, but it makes you read faster and act faster - and that is a skill you can use everywhere in live.
