ITunes New Full Screen Mode?

Has anybody noticed when you open up the new iTunes and go into fullscreen with a movie or tv show that the color density drops. It almost brings a blue shade to the whole color scheme and really takes away from the great color quality as if you were to watch it in a smalled mode. Just seeing if anybody knows about this or noticed it also? Thanks guys.

I played around with this a bunch, and I'm pretty sure it has to do with running a custom color sync display profile. The "washed out/blue" look is the same as when I run with the default apple color profile, so I think full screen mode is just ignoring the custom display profile. Is everyone else running a custom display profile?
In any case, I submitted a bug report about this in September, and had some back and forth with them about it, so Apple is definitely aware of the problem. Hopefully it gets fixed at some point! Until then I've been using the "Fit to Screen" option instead of the "Full Screen" option when I watch videos.

How do I change the information shown in the full screen mode?
Why is it showing albumartist instead of artist?
When I ex. lisening to this song:
    Song: Play Your Cards Right
    Artist: Common feat. Bilal
    Albumartist: Various Artists
    Album: Smokin Aces OST
.. in the full screen mode, all I see is:
    Play Your Cards Right
    Smokin Aces OST
    Various Artists
.. I want to change albumartist and replace it with artist in the full screen mode? Is it possible?

  • White line in iTunes Video Full Screen mode

Since my last FW update I do always see a white horizontal line (top of screen) when playing a video in iTunes or Youtube in Full Screen Mode. Does anybody has experienced the same?

Well, I found something interesting. If i go to any buy/rental trailers it plays in full mode. Only above white screen happens when I go to Theatrical Trailers, for example, go to new Die Hard and try to play any trailer and see if it plays for you in full mode.

  • Version 7.2.0 full screen mode does not appear in external display

I just upgraded to Version 7.2.0. The new full screen mode is fabulous. But, when the video starts, it moves the QuickTime window from my giant, external monitor to my laptop monitor. Is there some way to view video in full screen mode on my external monitor?
    Cheers,
    Greg
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Here's a solution I thought should work for QuickTime(not pro):
When you plug in an external monitor and choose to extend your desktop there is an extra tab in the "Display Settings" window for "arrangement". So, obviously on this page you can arrange your screens and decide which side you want your external monitor to extend your desktop on. Also, you can hold and drag the menu bar giving you the option of putting the menu bar on your external screen. So, one would think that the display that has the menu bar on it should be used as your default display. So, you would also think that QuickTime Player, when put into full screen mode, would use your "default" display to go into full screen. This seems logical, and possibly even desired behavior from a computer.
However, this is not the case. When I gave this a try no matter where you put your menu bar the QuickTime Player will always open its full screen mode in your MacBook Pro's display. What I propose is some how (though I'm unsure of how to do this) contact apple with a feature request that would allow you to explicitly set a default display and to have all applications use that display for when it goes into full screen.

  • ITunes 11.0.2.26 For Windows Stuck in Full Screen Mode

Itunes 11.0.2.26 is in Full Screen  mode and I cannot get it out.  When I go to "View" the Full Screen Ctrl + F is Paled out. I cannot get it to resize.  How can I get it out of Full Screen.  I hav Windows Vista  Home Premium.
    Thanks .

Mine is a brand new machine. Burning software was installed before iTunes was installed. I am looking at this article which points to a possible problem with the GEAR drivers: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2308
It also points to the afs.sys and afs2k.sys drivers as a potential problem. I've verified that I don't have these drivers on my machine.
When I go to the GEAR site, it tells you to manually uninstall the GEAR drivers and install the latest ones. First, manual uninstall which involves editing the registry. Really? While I'm quite the expert at registry editing, NO CONSUMER should ever be told to edit the registry to delete anything. Second, if in fact the GEAR drivers are the problem, shouldn't iTunes install the right ones? This is a prime example of poor software engineering at its core.

  • The itunes window on my desktop fails to display the bottom most portion of the screen unless I go into full screen mode.  Why?

As a follow up to provide more detailed information.
I have a MacBook as well running 10.6.8.
When I open itunes, the window I expect to come up does.  It has a scroll that allows me to view all of my playlists, as well as hit the new playlist icon at the bottom of the screen, etc.
On my Macbook Pro running 10.7.4, when I open itunes, there's no scroll bar, no icons at the bottom most portion of the screen.  The only way that I can see the new playlist icon AND be able to view/scroll through all of my playlists is to enter full screen mode....very inconvenient as the window is now fixed (can't be moved out of the way) without exiting full screen mode.
I'm a multi-tasker...rearranging windows, making one application active while another moves into the background, is my typical work situation.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

  • When I go into full screen mode in Safari 5.1 on LION it switches to a new Space, making my other displays useless. Anyone else annoyed that Apple has completely left out those with multiple displays?

I had a fear that this was going to be the case, but you can't have two full screen apps open in two different displays. At least that's how Safari fullscreen works. When switching over to full screen mode in safari, it automatically creats a new space, turns on four finger gesture to swipe through full screen apps which I had turned off in place of App Switcher.
I don't use spaces because of the lack of support for using spaces with multiple displays. I would use spaces and mission control if I had control of each display's mission control separately.
The fix would be to unlink the displays so they can scroll through full screen apps by themselves. I want this feature so I can mix and match the full screen apps on my three different displays. I see this beneficial for more people with multiple displays. in the future when thunderbolt display links, people will want better support too.
I know I would use spaces and mission control more if I could have this ability. I'd be interested to know people's opinion.

No no, if you read what I said, it would be that each individual display would be customizable to the user. The way you have it, it sounds like your second display will be dedicated to scrolling through fullscreen apps not allowing you to do it on the home screen. This is silly because with my concept, you could do that, by dragging apps to fullscreen in your second display, but if you want you could tell another display to scroll through fullscreen apps (independently) if you wanted. Each display will have it's own mission control with it's own set of desktops. I also can see how some people would still want them linked together, so this could just be a little check box made in mission control prefs to "link" or "unlink" desktops with link checked by default.
With your solution you're limited to your setup. but what if the person has three or four displays? Well then your solution would limit them to one dedicated display that scrolls through fullscreen apps where mine lets a person customize their desktops depending on their preference and setup.
further example: if you have safari, address book and mail in one display, you could still have ichat, PS and Illustrator in your second, and a text editor, FTP Client and iTunes in your third. Then you would mix and match these apps but it would promote the use of mulitple displays as well as benefit people with three or more, which thunderbolt, Cinema Display and Pro computers support.

  • Full Screen Mode Not Working In iTunes

With the latest iTunes update, when I play anything in "Full Screen" mode, I get the black background with this tiny (smaller than a postcard) picture. Anyone else having the same problems? Any suggestions? This problem never happened before. Seems to be related to the recent update. I think the update is telling my computer to act like an iPod, which unfortunately it is. Appreciate any help. Standing by.

Bingo! Problem solved. I didn't realize that you could "right click" the mouse over the "resize" icon in full screen mode. When I did that I found I was in the tiny postcard mode. Selecting "full screen" got me back to where I used to be..enjoying the tv shows in full screen mode. Kinda of weird. Choosing "full screen" from the menu bar didn't make the show full "pictured" though I was in full screen mode. But while in the full screen mode, I could right-click and choose "full screen" and there I be, watching a show in "full pictured". Learned something new.

  • When I open iTunes it will automatically go to full screen mode. I can't work out how to turn this off. Only iTunes opens to full screen mode.

When I open iTunes it will automatically go to full screen mode. I can't work out how to turn this off. Only iTunes opens to full screen mode.

Go to System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the menu bar).  Choose "General".  Click "Always close windows when quitting an application".
    That should fix it.

  • Please help: Linking from PDF to other PDF's that open in a new window... but NOT in full screen mode!?

    Hi All,
I have a project where a PDF is viewed in full screen mode when opened, from within this I wish to link to a variety of other PDF's.
Creating the links is simple, however I can not work out how to control the new window so that the new PDF opens with the toolbars and menus, ie not in full screen mode.
Any help would be apreciated, google is not my friend on this one.
    LB.

    Hi Thanks for the response.
I thought I had, but what seemed to be happening was that the Linked PDF was
adopting the full screen property of the original PDF. I'll give it another
    go and let you know.

Have you tried setting the initiall view properties of those PDFs to what
    you want?  Go File>Properties>Initial View.

  • In Full Screen mode Safari only opens new tabs?

Safari 5.1 has a preference that lets you set whether or not targeted links open into new tabs or new windows.
In regular screen mode, this preference works as expected.
In Full Screen mode (Lion), this preference seems to be ignored, and Safari always opens targeted links into new tabs.
Is there a preference I'm missing to set this behavior for Full Screen mode?
The reason I ask is that I would love to use the swipe gesture to switch between different web pages I have open, and so far Safari only seems to use gestures in Full Screen mode to switch between windows, not tabs.

  • No cursor in address bar after opening a new tab on full screen mode

    Hello all!
When opening a new tab in full screen mode, I noticed that the cursor dissappears from the address bar. Since I cannot write the address without clicking the bar, I think this is a very annoying issue...
Does anyone have the same problem?
    Thank you.

Try resetting Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.

My iMac (2007) keeps shutting off when in Full Screen mode (DVD, iTunes Visualizer, etc.) This only happens when I have an external monitor hooked up HDMI. Help?

Try using another connection such as VGA or DVI to see if the problem repeats itself.

  • ITunes music videos playing small on full screen mode

    Hi,
When I select full screen to play a music video in iTunes it doesn't play full screen but its seems about half the size it should be. Please could someone tell me how to get it back to playing in full screen mode again?
    Thank you,
    Amy

Hello Amy, welcome to the Apple forums.
Where did you get the video from?
Drag your video from iTunes, on to the Desktop to copy it.
Right click on the video icon and choose "Get Info".
A long window will open on your desktop. Look in the section "More Info:" then, directly underneath, "Dimensions" there will be some numbers there such as 720x480. Post the numbers you are seeing, here. It would also be helpful to know which computer and monitor you are using.

  • ITunes: how to get out of "full screen" mode in Lion?

running Lion for the first time - I hit some kind of a a wrong button on iTunes, and it went into some kind of goofy full screen mode.  How do I get it back to the original mode?

You  must have tripped over the double-headed arrow symbol at the right end of the menu bar.  To get back, slide your cursor to the top of the screen to display the menu bar and slide right to the double-headed arrow (now enclosed in blue) at the right end of the menu bar.
