ITunes New Update 9.1 & ACC

I looked everywhere now and I can't find the answer to my following question: How can I convert a MP3-File to an ACC-File with iTunes?
It used to be optional before the update...

There are no "ACC" files, at least none that apply to iTunes. There are AAC files, and that's what I presume you mean (and perhaps why you're having trouble finding information). See:

ITunes new update

I saw that others have had issues with the new update, but upon trying some of the suggested solutions, my problem still persists.
At first, I was missing the msvcr80.dll so I re-installed by googling it. Then when running the actual program, at the very end, right before it finished installing iTunes, it told me to verify that I had the proper permissions to run it. I'm an admin on my comp. I ran as an admin. What else do you want from me iTunes?
Is anyone else having this problem?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

iTunes now can convert video for the ipod. It also has a mini-store below your library (though you can switch it off).

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

After trying to install the new update, I am getting a message from Windows saying that an MC file is missing, reintall Itunes-which I have now done 3 times. How do I fix this?

I received the new update from Itunes and after installing, I couldnt get into my Itunes. I get a message from Windows saying that an MC file is missing and to reinstall I tunes. I have reinstalled 3 times, the first time I didn't remove the old version, I installed the update over it. Next I tried the repair function under Control Panel. After that, I uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled again from the website. I still get the same message about missing files from Windows.

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

Unless you've recently attempted to downgrade iTunes this is probably a sign of a corrupt library file. See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.

TS3212 Unable to download new update for iTunes on my computer after installing OS6 on iPhone

I have had no problems in the past being able to download updates until now.
I updated my iPhone 3GS to OS6 with no problems and now I cannot get my iTunes on my computer to download a new update from 10.5 to 10.7 and it now rejects my phone when syncing, saying that it needs to have an update to 10.6.3 or higher. Is there anyway to get the update function back to working on my current iTunes without having to reinstall? If I must reinstall my iTunes, will it still keep all my data from before like an update or do I lose everything and have to start from scratch or will the installer keep the old config that is currently installed?
Things I have tried:
Restarting the computer---same results
I opened the software update application inside the software folder--opens the update window but has no updates listed in it...then tried to update again while having it open--still nothing.
Only thing I can think of at this point is to reinstall.
Just hoping for any help in order to avoid having to do this.
(Using Windows7 64-bit on my computer)

I bit the bullet and downloaded a fresh install download from apple.com since the updater would no longer work.
Still a mystery as to why the updater was no longer working.
Kept the original installed iTunes where it was and sent the new install to its same folder location.
First couple of attempts failed to download but I persisted and the third attempt it downloaded.
After the download, I went into the iTunes folder, clicked on the setup icon and the install was made complete.
Fortunately as diesel pointed out, all of my settings and media remained intact.
Thanks to diesel vdub for providing a little assurance, and now all is back to normal and up to date once again.

From an OS9 reference, error -54 is a software lock on a file or a permissions error. (Although there is no formal list of OSX error code some of the old codes still apply to OSX .)
First, try simply restarting your computer.
Try quitting iTunes, then deleting the .xml (not .itl !) version of the library file in the iTunes folder (iTunes will generate a new one).

this just started w/ me yesterday. I was running 10.5.3, and nothing changed - the message just appeard out of nowhere. I update to the latest iTunes 10.6 but the message is the same.
Sounds like probably some sort of Library file corruption.
The two options available in the message box are "Download" and "Quit". Download is useless because I'm already running the latest. Quit is pretty useless.
I was going to just create a new Library and re-import all my music. Of course, all my iPhone sync settings are going go have to be recreated.

My Iphone 4 is telling me the same thing and I believe I figured out what the problem is. I had some fraudulent charges on my itunes account, so I call my bank and disputed the charges. Right after I did that, I started getting the message "Your apple ID has been disabled." I just realized today that the charges are not fraudulent, they are "in app purchases." One of my daughters downloaded the game Top Girl which is FREE, but in the game Top Girl you use money in the game to purchase things. It just so happens that the money you use to purchase things is real money MY Money!!!. My daughter thought she was using play money in the game and had no idea she was using real money. She spent $106.00 buying stuff. Now I have to call the bank and tell them to release the hold and pay Itunes. I'm hoping this solves the problem. It appears to be a bug with the current build. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.

Given the state your device is in you have already erased your old stuff. You have an image on the screen that says, "Connect to iTunes." That's what the image means. So you will need iTunes on your computer.
