ITunes no longer allowing use of remote app or recognizing remote speakers

Weird problem as all of this worked as of 24 hours ago. I am no longer able to share my music (either via the remote app or between two computers on the same local network) nor will iTunes recognize the existence of remote speakers (again, all worked fine as of yesterday).
I've made no changes to firewall, etc. I've confirmed the network is functioning, the Airport express is connected, all current versions, etc. Firewall allows incoming connections for iTunes. Further, i've tried:
1) Restarting iTunes, the iMac in question and the iPad
2) Using remote on two different devices
3) hard rebooting the airport connected to my stereo
4) reinstalling iTunes and remote
Home sharing is turned on however the iPad's remote app cannot find any libraries. When i try to add a library outside of home sharing, iTunes doesn't see any device trying to connect.
I'm well stumped. Anyone else finding this issue and are there any suggestions?

Same problem. I'm running itunes 10.1.2.17 under win 7.
Here's what I did to fix the problem. Basically you need to create a new exception in your firewall to allow itunes UDP communication.
control panel>system & security>Windows firewall.
Advanced settings>inbound rules
New Rule> Program > browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and pick itunes.exe
Allow the connection>next>next
Give it a name like iTunesUDP.
Now click on your new rule "iTunesUDP" and select properties.
Click the protocals and ports tab.
under protocal type select UDP.
That should do it.

    RingItUpPro has become a difficult app to erase from either cloud or Desktop. Therefore, is there a Terminal or in other words, have developers made this iOS using code like is that for computers? In Terminal, I had tried erasing and old application once downloaded called, syncmate which still leaves error messages went my computer's disk gets stressed or shrinks from watching internet shows and movies for long periods. A message that my disk is almost full appears. So this is a memory based problem. I'm not yet up-to-date as some owners with their 64 bit environments, so I suffer to tough it out until I can uprade. But this update error hasme frazzeled on the Iphone 5S.

    You could ask Apple to provide you with a new one assuming you still have proof of purchase  .  .  .  though don't hold out too much hope.
    Also if you click on the FCE icon in the menubar and select "About FCE" you should see a serial, though if your FCE is an upgrade it most likely won't work.

    Just so you are aware, the iTunes and Mac Appp Store are one in the same as far as billing goes. If you redeem an iTunes gift card either at iTunes or the App Store, the balance willl be available from both.
    And since you are trying to purchase Aperture, you did post in the correct forum.
    You need to take into account any applicable taxes and fees that may be added to the purchase price.

    If there are enough funds available, you should be able to purchase Aperture now.

    The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...

    Hello all,
    i have 2 Mac OS X Tiger Machines running Creative Suite 3 Premium that are having different issues:
    1. one of them will run fine for a while then reach a point of what i call saturation, wher it will not take any inputs. the only way to rid the issue is to restart the machine, but after a while it will do it again. Would reseting the Preferences in PS help???
    2. the other machine that is acting up does not all the use of shapes anymore.
    these may be cases what i need to wipe the machine and start fresh, but any help/advice would be very appreciated!

    I have reset the Permissions file as well as 'All Tools.'
    Yes, I run MacJanitor, YASU, and Preferential Treatment, at least once a month, but usually every other Week I run these programs.
    We have 250GB HD's with about 200GB Free, with 2GB RAM, and no separate HD's with the exception of a 1 TB Time Capsule that the machines all connect to.
    I have not created any new user accounts, but will try that if the act up again.

  • Hi all, my iphone 4 (recently updated to IOS 6) will no longer allow me to install apps.

    I click 'FREE' on the app and then 'INSTALL' at which point it looks as though it starts installing but then the apple ID / password box comes up, I enter my password and then once the box goes away the app just goes back to its original screen without installing. I've reset the iphone and its made no difference. Any ideas?!

    Following 4.3 update on iOS, scaning is no longer working using tray, the app conects to the scanner, it initiates the document feeder to scan, pages get scanned trough, but the application reports failure and displays message to check printers control display.  This same behavioour has been noted by several users on iTunes store where they left negative reviews.
    How does one report bugs to HP for this instance, apperently a mobile app issue related, and or follow progres and posible fix date for this issue?

    No.  The remote app is for remotely controlling the iTunes library on a computer.

  • Unable to use FiOS Mobile Remote App on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

    I'm one of the holdout Blackberry customers who Verizon doesn't recognize as wanting apps anymore.  I finally broke down and bought an Android tablet device when I saw the FiOS Mobile Remote App and recognized it as an easy solution for controling my multiple HD STBs in my "Man Cave".  Unfortunately, the app has been completely useless.
    The app loads fine.  I'm able to register each HD STB with the app, however doing anything more than the initial set-up for the remote function results in a crash.  Every time I attempt to use it, I get the message "Unfortunately, FiOS Remote has stopped."  I will occassionally see the attempted connection displayed on the corner of my TV screen.
    All other functions of the app work, including the DVR function.
    I've reported this failure for months, using the handy little report button below the crash message.  No response.
    I've commented on this topic in threads from other users with the same problem.  No response.
    I've posted to the comments section of the Google Play store.  No response.
    Please, would someone from Verizon acknowledge this problem exists?  My best theory so far is that my tablet device is not on a Verizon data plan (WiFi only), so therefore Verizon isn't interested in supporting it (or this loyal customer). 
    Device is Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 7.0, running Android 4.0.4.  All FiOs STBs replaced with latest generation.

    I am sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with the app. We try to make the app as compatible with all devices as possible. The full list of devices the mobile remote is compatible with is https://www22.verizon.com/OnDemand/unprotected/AboutFlexView.aspx   . You may find there may be devices that do work with it that re not on the list, but these are all verified working devices with the app. Since yours doesn't appear to be on the list, we can not gaurantee it will work. Submitting all the feedback has gotten word back to Verizon about the troubles you are having. You can also submit this to the Verizon Idea Exchange. Please search on the idea exchange and cast your vote. There may be another member who made the same suggestion.     You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
    They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

    That has nothing to do with iTunes match. The Remote app on iPad can control the computer's iTunes but not play content from iTunes on your iPad.
    To play for example iTunes imusic on iPad
    You need to have Home Sharing On.
    Check Settings > Music > Home Sharing (key in your Apple ID & password here, must be the same on computer's iTunes)
    Start iPad's Music app, tap the ... More (bottom right), tap Shared.
    Choose your iTunes' library and have fun.
