Itunes no longer loads

Vista Business
100gb hard drive
t7600 @2.33ghz
2gb ram
I get the error:
The iTunes application could not be opened. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
I have partitioned my drive into 2 hard drives, I have run check disk on both and installed itunes on both drives. Itunes was working fine for weeks then all of a sudden the error started showing up. I have not installed any programs and have checked for spyware.

iTunes Library Genius.itdb is the broken file
# Recreate your iTunes Library
If you iTunes library has become corrupt, rebuilding it as described in "How to recreate your iTunes Library" may resolve the issue.
# Check for content files with issues
Sometimes a certain audio file can cause iTunes to quit unexpectedly or stop responding when it is analyzing gapless playback information. To determine which file(s) may be cause the issue follow the steps below:
1. Quit iTunes.
2. Move the iTunes Library file located at C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes to your desktop
3. Open iTunes.
4. From the File menu, choose Add Folder to Library.
5. Navigate to the folder where your music is located. Typically this is
C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
6. Choose an artist, album, or single song to add the to the library
7. Wait for iTunes to successfully add the songs to your library and perform the gapless playback scan.
8. If successful, continue adding back more songs to your library.
9. If there is an issue with one of your files, you will notice your issue reappear after you attempt to add it to the library. At this point you should repeat these steps being careful not to add the files that cause the issue to occur.

  • ITunes no longer loads after updating to Windows 8.1.  I have tried every corrective step I've found on the web (reinstall, copy files, change permissions, etc.) nothing helps.  Has anyone heard if Apple is working on fix?

Itunes does not launch after updating to Windows 8.1.  I've tried every suggestion I can find on web (reinstall, copy files from other directories, change permissions, etc.).  Nothing works.  At best I can get the licensing agreement to show and then nothing.  Has anyone heard if a fix is in the works?

  • ITunes isn't loading on my Macbook Pro

Since updating my Macbook Pro iTunes no longer loads
I can view my account information, have redeemed vouchers and when I type in the search bar the suggestions still appear
It seems to think it has loaded - but the screen is completely white and blank
Has anybody had this issue and knows how to solve it?
    Thank you!

I fixed this myself, (just adding in case anyone elseis looking.)
after all the usual reload ... %%$# I went to my network settings and reset my TCP/IP and address information and reset my proxie settings ...  and basically started from scratch for my NETWORK. (Although I was getting all the other website and online material the ITUNES  store was saying no network connection  I should also mention that my updates was not working properly either and this was fixed also.)  I also turned off my sharing from my desktop on my home network as well as bluetooth sharing of devices other than my phone.
After rebooting I was UP and AWAY.

  • Itunes will no longer load on my computer.  I tried reloading it, but that did not work either

Itunes will not longer load, how do I troubleshoot the issue?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • ITunes Store app no longer loading on iPhone 5 (using iOS 7)

I've upgraded to the new iOS 7.0.2 and everything was working fine but all of a sudden the iTunes Store app no longer loads properly.  When I tap on the icon the app flickers but loads in the background.  It doesn't actually open.  If I double tap the "home" button, I can see the app in the background with any other app that hasn't been closed.  When I tap the iTunes store app, when it's in the background, to try and open it from there, it just stays in the background.  This was initially working fine when I first loaded the new OS.  Has anybody experienced this?  I've tried to completely shutdown the phone and restart it with no success.  I've also tried re-syncing it with iTunes on my Mac with no success as well.  An email to Apple over a week ago still hasn't been answered.  If anybody has experienced this and can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks

Problem resolved.  A friend suggested that I go into iTunes on my Mac and backup the phone then try and do a restore.  This seems to have worked.  I'll update again if this fix doesn't hold.

  • My iPod is a nano from 2006 the computer that had my original iTunes ones long gone, is there away to load my iPod to a new iTunes. Each time I try it wants to erase my iPod? Help please

I havean iPod nano "2006" model, the computer that had my original iTunes is long gone is there away to load my songs a from my iPod on to a new itune account? Each time itryitwants to rewrite my nano? Help!

The "bar" at the bottom does not say anything about all of your songs being on the iPod.  It just shows you how much of its storage capacity is being used, based on what is on the iPod.
If you see "On This iPod," that means the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible.  This is easier to describe with the sidebar visible, so from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
Select the iPod in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  There is a bar of buttons near the top, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  You can choose to sync Entire music library, if (?) your iTunes music library fits on the iPod.  With this setting, your entire iTunes music library syncs to the iPod, and new songs get synced automatically.  A 7th gen iPod nano is 16GB, so your iTunes music library would have to be less than 16GB (not counting non-music content on the iPod).  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select (checkmark) the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres you want on the iPod from the lists below.  If you want newly added songs to sync to the iPod, they must be part of your selection.  For example, you can add them to a playlist that you have selected for syncing to the iPod.
When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.  Going forward, changes to your iTunes library (based on your settings on the iPod's Music screen) sync automatically to the iPod, the next time it is connected (or when you click Sync).

  • ITunes will no longer load on vista - Please Help.

    Hi,
I am running on windows vista, and recently iTunes will not load. I’d tried reinstalling many times, but the problem still continues. The error message I am getting is as follows.
    Title: “iTunes.exe – Bad Image”
Body:“C:\Windows\system32\mssip32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program using the original installation media or contact our system administrator or the software vendor for support.”
I would be grateful if anyone could help me overcome this problem. I need new songs on my nano!
    Many Thanks
    Patrick

“iTunes.exe – Bad Image” ... “C:\Windows\system32\mssip32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program using the original installation media or contact our system administrator or the software vendor for support.”
Okay. Literally, it's saying that one of the dlls associated with Cryptographic Services on the PC is damaged. That can cause an iTunes launch failure.
... However, most of our experience here at Discussions is with troubleshooting these sorts of messages on Windows XP systems, rather than Vista and I don't have a Vista box handy for reference.
So, if you don't receive any further replies here, it might be best to try posting instead at the Windows Vista Community Discussions Groups. Fingers crossed someone there might be better placed to help you troubleshoot this:

  • WARNING - Bug in iTunes 7.2 - Will No Longer Load All MP3s Into 60GB iPod

I upgraded my iTunes to version 7.2. Unfortunately, iTunes refuses to load 101 mp3 songs that formerly played on my iPod Video 60 GB onto my iPod. These were songs that I purchased from iTunes in the last year, burned to a CD and then ripped back into unprotected MP3 format. iTunes gives me an error message that states that these MP3s are in a format this not readable by the iPod.
I did a restore of the iPod, but this did not fix the problem.

This is a very strange bug.
    To be more precise:
    I have a 17" Mac iSight G5 (1.9 GHz) with OS 10.4.9 installed.
This morning I upgraded from iTunes 7.1 to iTunes 7.2. After I upgraded, I went to sync my 5th generation 60GB Video iPod (firmware 1.2.1) and it would not import 101 mp3s (encoded in iTunes at 192kbs). All of the 101 songs play correctly in iTunes and continue to synch correctly with my Apple TV. Furthermore, all of my other mp3s and protected AAC songs synched correctly with the 60GB Video iPod.
I restarted the computer and restored the iPod, but neither fixed the problem.
The 101 songs all were protected AAC songs that I purchased from iTunes, burned onto a CD and then ripped back into iTunes. The songs were purchased from iTunes between 2004 and 2007.
I have had iTunes on Mac OS X since 2002 and have not had any prior problems with iTunes. My computer has no haxies, hardware or software modifications.
I have 116 GB of movies, television shows and music in iTunes which we sync with our Apple TV and 60GB iPod.
I have e-mailed Roy at Apple a description of the problem and a screenshot of the error message.

Since last update on Mavericks, the picture attachement to a movie in iTunes no longer works. Any idea ?

    iMac 27', Mavericks 10.9 + iTunes 11.1.2

Working here just fine. Try reinstalling:
Reinstalling Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
