ITunes no longer responds... Please help!
Since I updated the latest version of iTunes, it no longer responds... I open it up and it'll just have an open window on the bottom of the screen. But not only does it only give me the option to close when I right click the window, after I close it says "iTunes is not responding..." My iPod seems fine it charges up and plays normally, but not iTunes since I updated it.
I tried to download it again, but it asked if I wanted to repair files or remove iTunes. I chose repair and it went according to plan, but no change. PLEASE help!
I googled on "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed" and the one I posted was the top hit. There were others from the Microsoft website - it sure seems like a WIndows problem, and not necessarily an iTunes problem.
This second hit talks about re-registering the Windows Installer service.

ITunes no longer opens - please help.
I have no idea what I may have done but here's what it shows when I click on the iTunes icon after a couple of months of giving up on it...Windows Installer - Preparing to Install. Then an erro box pops up showing Problem with Shortcut: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. THis can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode or if the Wondows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.
Okay, so I'm not in safe mode. Today I went to download an update up iTunes 8 thinging I may have uninstalled something by accident doing something else so I would get it back by installing iTunes 8. Nope, the same messages appeared.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I miss iTunes!I googled on "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed" and the one I posted was the top hit. There were others from the Microsoft website - it sure seems like a WIndows problem, and not necessarily an iTunes problem.

after updating my Macbook Pro retina display to os x yosemite 10.10.2, the mause and track pad locks, and do not respond especially when using the Mac for a long period, please help, how can I solve this, I do not like feel like in windows, so I paid good money for this mack, I feel calm
Hi Buterem,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your MacBook Pro since your recent Yosemite update. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing. If you are having intermittent but persistent responsiveness issues with your mouse or trackpad, you may want to try using Activity Monitor to see if these incidents correspond to occupied system resources, especially system memory or CPU. You may find the following article helpful:
How to use Activity Monitor - Apple Support
If the entire system hangs or locks up (for example, if the system clock freezes and stops counting up), you may also be experiencing some variety of Kernel Panic. If that is the case, you may also find this article useful:

Help. When i open iTunes the dreaded wheel of doom keeps spinning but itunes wont open or allow me to do anything. When i force quit it shows itunes as "not responding".
Help! You need a firewire cable (6 pin to 4 pin). These are very cheap online if you Google, or you can find at Radio Shack etc.

Can't find a playlist I created on my playlist or computer? I didn't delete it. I don't want to create it again because it took a long time. please help me find and recover.
Playlists only exist as part of the larger iTunes library listing so if you are not seeing it there it doesn't exist anywhere else. I know with my older version of iTunes it is very easy to accidentally delete a playlist. With newer versions it may be possible to recover it with the undo feature in the menu but this likely will only work immediately after the deletion.

downloaded itunes 0.6 on my ipod over wifi, however when connected to my computer it would not recognise my ipod and suggested i went to www.itunes .com/uk but could not find or download 6, so now cannot sync my ipod with itunes on my computer, please help cheers.
By wiping both iPhone and iPod and trying syncing with another computer I've come to the conclusion that something with MobileMe sync is the problem.
I can set up both to work fine with my Mac Pro and a new Mac Book Pro as long as I don't set up MobileMe syncing. As soon as I sync with MobileMe I start having problems, particularly with Calendar.
MobileMe seems to work fine computer to computer, until the iPhone/iPod get involved, then the MobileMe copy gets messed up. Version on computer seems to stay ok.
Not sure where to go from here... other than call Apple or go to the Apple Store. -
Hi. My itunes library is in current 10.5.2 but my old ipod touch 4th or 3rd gen is not updating at all its still in current 4.2 and there is some apps i cant download that requires a 4.3 update but in my itunes it wont. Please help!
Are you sure you have a 4g/3g iPod? If you don't have a camera, it's definitely not 4G. If it has no camera and is 8 or 16 Gb it is a 2G and can't go beyond 4.2.1.

I accidentally synced my mum's brand new iPad to my mac book air. A few days later I realised that my iTune library on my mac is completely gone. So is my iPhone 4s after I synced it with my mac. How do I get my old iTunes library back? I tried using icloud on my iphone but it stated that I have never back up my phone before. So I guess my iCloud data is gone too? But I have back up my mac in my harddrive using time machine. So how do I get my old itune library back? Please help! Thanks!
1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer. -

i am a OS10.7.4 user. yesterday i bought a Lacie external hard disk but error message appear said " You cant open the applicant LaCie setup assistant because PowerPC applicants are no longer support". please help me how to connect my mac with Lacie??
You do not need the Setup Assistant; in fact, you do not need any software on an external hard drive. I have two LaCie's; I erased the drive as soon as I plugged it in. You will need to format it anyway because most hard drives come Windows formatted. So, if you only want to use it with the Mac, highlight it in Disk Utility and choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format and the GUID Partition scheme under Options. While doing that, it will erase the drive (and get rid of the LaCie software) - once finished, your drive is ready to use for Time Machine or any other backup plans you have for it.

my iPhone 4 keeps asking me to enter the apple ID for an account which no longer exists….please help
I should have also said that the only reason this is causing me an issue is because I have bought a new phone and I want to sell this one. But I cannot erase all data because I cannot turn off find my phone because it keeps asking for the password for an account which no longer exists…. have tried so many suggestions but nothing is working...

I have never been able to open my itunes store. I was on the phone with support for 1.5 hours today, no luck. I would like to purchase a book only available on itunes. Can someone please help!
I have tried
- setting time and date
- uninstalling
- upgrading itunes
- changing credit card
Any other suggestions?Update your safari. Install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1569
The itunes store relies on certain components of safari, regardless of if you use it or not.
