ITunes No Longer Synching With iPods, Not Connecting with iTunes Store

Issue:
For a while, the iPods of myself and a family member have not been able to synch our iPods with iTunes anymore: when plugged in, it only appears to charge, does not show up in "Devices", does not do anything. I've run Diagnostics several times, tried redownloading iTunes, & checked settings, etc.
Also, whenever I try to go into iTunes Store, it says that it "Cannot connect to iTunes Store", even if connection to the internet is fine.
These problems started occurring simultaneously, as well as out of no where. As I recall, I had no problem synching & going into iTunes Store the day before.
Ask your other family members if they did. Something has to have changed.
I am betting it's something on the PC, since two ipods going bad at the same time would be highly unlikely.
If you have auto updates turned on for Windows & security software, it might not even be obvious they occurred.
You can try restarting your modems/routers/and PC, in that order.

On your computer go to the control panel (hover in the lower right corner) then programs, add/remove programs
Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support then go to apple.com and redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.
You won't lose any content, you're not deleting that, just the programs that access them.
What is thought to happen is that sometimes a new version of itunes doesn't update the drivers in those other two programs. The only way to update the drivers is to force it by uninstalling the programs which allows itunes to write the correct ones.
My iPad and iPod did exactly the same thing and this is how I fixed it. -
After purchasing songs at the itunes store, my ipod touch will no longer synch with the itunes library at all. It won't send the purchases to the device and it won't synch any other music to the device. Also a lock symbol is now displayed at the top of the ipod touch. How do I fix this.

Notes in a contact in OUtlook are no longer synched with my contacts on iphone
Hi I noticed recently that the notes that I make about a person in their contact in Outlook is no longer synched with the Iphone.
Does anybody know if there is a way to make this synch again?What about the opposite way:

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Can somebody help me in finding a solution or an explanation to the problem I am currently experiencing as well as others wherein we cannot connect to the iTunes store. An error message appears and either says "iTunes could not connect to the store. An unknown error occurred (0x80096004). Make sure your network connection is active and try again" or "iTunes could not connect to the store.Make sure your network connection is active and try again." Despite the fact that my network connection is working quite fine, this problem still persists. I can say that my connection is fine because I can surf the internet and furthermore, I used to connect to the iTunes store just before this incident happened which started from April 17, 2014 and persists until today. I tried to solve the problem by following the troubleshoot procedures given in the support section of this site but it really did not solve the problem. I believe that others are experiencing this situation as well very similar to mine when it comes to the time of occurrence as I have read in the discussions in this site. Even though we have different network connections, operating systems and other specifications, we still experience the same problem, so is there really a problem with our computers or is it with the iTunes? Triple click anywhere in the line below to select it and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
cmd /k netsh winsock reset
Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the run dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste, then press enter/return.
You should get something similar to this:
Reboot the computer and the problem should be resolved.
If it doesn't work then perhaps a full tear down and rebuild of iTunes will fix things. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

My iPhone 5s contacts are no longer synching with Mercedes E class command system. It did 3 days ago but now it longer synchs my contacts - how do I get my contacts downloaded to the command system of my car?
status update -- I tried a lot of other things but finally solved the problem after I removed all the groups from mac address book. (thank-you to my son Ben)
FYI -- along the way I tried doing the reset sync history, which deleted all contacts from the iphone. I initially thought that was a good thing, until I discovered that nothing I tried after that would put the contacts back on the iphone. Next I restored factory settings on the iphone and set up as a new user, but that didn't work either. Or maybe it did; maybe deleting the groups wouldn't have solved the problem if I hadn't deleted all contacts and reset the iphone first. -
i have an ipad 2 the itunes program worked fine at first but now it will not connect to the store. it says 'secure link to itune store failed' i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. what do i do?
Doublechecking before proceeding. Is iTunes endlessly saying "Accessing iTunes Store"? Or is something a bit different going on?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
