ITunes not authorizing my purchased content on my ATV2

     I cannot get purchased content from iTunes to play on my ATV2 - Is there a specific way to authorize your ATV2?  I've signed in to my iTunes store account and iCloud account on ATV2, but they still won't authorize.  When I press play it starts "loading" but then it doesn't do the "Authorizing" - help!!!!

Nevermind, sharing my music on a home network or something like that fixed it on preferences
its just weird that it was fine before and all of a sudden not

  • Getting "Device not authorized to play content"

    Just purchased APPLE TV.  I had a movie on my iPad and I wanted to Airplay to my Samsung LCD.   Getting error "Device not authorized to play content".  Any pointers?  Suggestions?

  • I have a "not authorized to view content" on my Apple TV.

    I have an Apple TV (1st Gen).  All software is up-to-date.  Last spring there was an issue where the Apple TV would not talk to iTunes.  After a week or so, Apple fixed the issue.  I was able to access and view all my movies on my iMac and I synced my Apple TV.  When I went on Apple TV I was able to watch all my movies except one, Les Miserable.  When I purchased the HD version a few months prior, I was able to watch the movie several times with no issues.  When I try to watch "Les Miserable" on Apple TV now, I get a message that says: "not authorized to view content."  I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue or an iTunes issue.

  • Not authorized to show content using airplay

    Just bought an Apple TV. I can push content to it from my iPad or iPod fine, and I can access my iTunes account on my computer fine. However when my boyfriend comes over, he cannot push content to the Apple TV from his iPad. The airplay icon shows fine, but when he tries, it says that he is not authorized to play content on this device. It doesn't make sense because when we were at his parent's place over Christmas, I was able to push content from my iPad to their Apple TV with no problems, even though I've never been there before and no authorizations were needed. We tried this with four or five different videos and songs, but to no effect. Each time it told us that it wasn't authorized. We also tried signing into the Apple TV using his iTunes account, but were still told the device wasn't authorized to play his content. Can anyone help?

    Did you try turning airplay off/on via ATV? Maybe rebooting the iPad? Having both devices signed into the same account?

When I try to make an in-app purchase, I get a message saying “You are not authorized to purchase from the App Store”. I have checked my App Store account and it works properly.   • Apple TV not authorized to view content  -- solution remove family videos??

    Hi. Whenever I add add family videos (mp4, created with CRUNCH), my movie rentals stop working on Apple TV. I get the message saying that Apple TV is not authorized to view content. These are movies that I have paid for and have been downloaded directly to Apple TV. (Same problem occurs even if I download movies rental to my Mac and transfer them to Apple TV.)
    If I remove my family videos from Apple TV, then the movies rentals work again.
    I don't like this situation -- Apple is forcing me to choose between my family videos or movie rentals. Has anyone else experienced this problem?? Any ideas or suggestions??

    Yes, my home movies play with no problem on Apple TV. I've tried other conversion programs with the same results.
    Once I remove my home movies the movie rentals are fine again. But once I place the home videos back on Apple TV, the rentals stop working.
    I am in Canada -- where movie rentals have only just become available. Could this have anything to do with it??? Perhaps there are still a few glitches in the system?

  • PURCHASED iTUNES NOT AUTHORIZED FOR DIGITAL EXPORT

    I am trying in vein to burn the songs I have bought in the iTunes store to a CD so I can play them in my car. However they come with a small padlock symbol in the top left corner. If I try to burn them onto a CD, a message comes up saying the song is not authorized for digital export. I have chosen audio CD in iTunes-preferences-advanced-burning, but this has no effect, I have authorized my computer also. Does this mean I have wasted my money buying these tunes and have to sit at my mac to listen to them and nowhere else?? This is making my blood boil!

    Dragging it to the desktop is the problem. It sounds like you're not burning the disk from within iTunes. Create a playlist in iTunes and select Burn Playlist to Disc. And make sure the iTunes prefs for Burning are set to Audio CD. I have an iTunes store purchase in my library that is burned to CD and plays in my car. When I just dragged that track to my desktop, I see the little lock you're speaking of. Try burning from iTunes and it should work.

    It's a straightforward port-forwarding issue.
    You need to forward ports to the internal ip address of your apple tv as follows:
    TCP 123
    TCP 3689
    UDP 5353
    TCP 80
    TCP 4343
    TCP 53
    This may also solve other problems you may have with homesharing...

  • Itunes wont sync recently purchased content with an error message

    About 10 days ago itunes stopped syncing TV episodes that were purchased recently. It comes back with an "this computer is not authorized to play ..."  but in fact it is. I have also unauthorized and reauthorized this MAC but it will still not sync the recently downloaded (about 2 weeks or younger) episodes.
    To clarify it will sync all content that was downloaded earlier.
    Any ideas ?

    Are you saying that you are running iTunes 10.7 now and it is still telling you to update iTunes?

    Using Apple TV 2.3.1 I can not stream a lot of my music to Apple TV. This is content I purchased from iTunes. Many songs will not stream and I receive the error "Not authorized to play on Apple TV"? This is highly frustrating? If the content is synced to Apple TV, I believe it will play but I would prefer not to sync the music. I have tried to de-authorize the computer and then re-authorize it to no avail. This should be a no-brainer? Any ideas why this happens???

    people with only a laptop might not find it usefull to have to turn on the laptop to watch a movie on the appletv.
    once content is sycned, you don't need to have your itunes library open to be able to play it.
