ITunes not converting to ACC

I saved all of my music to DVDs, so when i put them into the CD-ROM, and i start to import them, it tells me that iTunes can convert the songs to ACC, so i hit convert. iTunes imports all of the songs that are ACC already, but then it doesnt convert the ones that are WMA. They're not protected WMA, so im not sure what's going on here...
can anyone help me with this?

I had this problem too, and you've done all the right things.
After going all the way up the support chain with no success, I ultimately got it resolved very simply: by getting Apple's iTunes Store team to cancel the Match subscription and issue a refund so that I could purchase and start Match again from scratch.
When you do this, wait until your iTunes account shows the credit before purchasing and running Match again (just to be sure the entire cancellation process on the Apple side has completed).
It's so awesome to have it working perfectly.

i just don't understand itunes.
so when i installed itunes onto my computer so i could upload the music onto my slvr, it converted SOME of my previoud audio files that were in windows media player. but it didn't take them all, infact it took a little less than half. and i can't figure out how to get them on the itunes library.
i know i've probably overlooked a simple task but whatever. can someone please point out why i'm an idiot, and tell me how to do this?

Cannot convert to ACC grayed out will not work!!

Im about to rewind to itunes 7 because I cannot convertor crteate an ACC file. I've changed the encoder to ACC, I've selected the file and when I go to advanced the convert to ACC is grayed out. Current file is MPEG any ideas on why it's not popping up so that I can do it?? Read all the other posts did everything everyone else says they did but Convert to ACC still remains grayed out. Until I updated to this latest version I had no problems what gives??? Any ideas out there?

have followed the link uninstalling in the correct order,
then restarted as per instructions,
went to Apple to download itunes,
hit download now,
Visit the iTunes download page. Click Download Now to download the iTunes installer. When prompted, click Save (instead of Run).

Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup (the installer you downloaded in step 3).
If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Choose "Run as administrator."
i can only click run as administrator from right clicking the shortcut on my desktop screen

Itunes 8 can not convert to mp3

I just updated to itunes 8 and now I can not convert to mp3 anymore! The CREATE mp3 version is greyed out and I can not pick it. I have checked and the import mp3 option is checked in the settings.

also, it appears that Apple did not update the "iTunes Help" screens when they made iTunes 8 -- those screens still refer to the "advanced" tab in preferences, even though the importing functions are no longer located there:
THEY READ as follows:
*Choosing import settings*
You can choose the encoding format and other settings that iTunes uses to import songs. Your choices affect the audio quality and size of the song file (the higher the quality, the larger the file size).
To choose import options:
Choose iTunes > Preferences and click Import Settings.
ETC. Well, at least they didn't do an iMove-style "revamp" to iTunes.! 8)

How can I tell iTunes to NOT convert certain files from wma format?

I just got an iPod classic, and downloaded iTunes and it automatically started adding all my music. I have almost 5000 songs that are in wma format, and it started converting them all. Then after it got almost 2000 songs finished, it just stopped. For no reason. So I tried to continue it, and apparently there is no way to just continue where it stopped. It started over at the beginning and is now re-converting all the files it already converted.
It took over 24 hours to convert those first 2000 files. It seems completely unnecessary that it should have to re-convert them all over again.
Is there any way that I can tell it NOT to convert those specific files? I figured that you should be able to right-click the file and say "DO NOT CONVERT" or something along those lines, but that is not an option.
The only other way I've been able to figure out that I could do this is to manually add only the files that it didn't convert last time. But that is over 3000 files, and they are not in the same order on my hard drive that they are on in iTunes so I would never be able to figure out what files were done and what files were not done.
There HAS to be a way to just highlight certain files and tell iTunes NOT to convert them. Hasn't there?
Someone please help me. This is really irritating, and I do not feel like waiting for another 3 days for this to finish. I have other things I need to do on my computer, and it seems that while iTunes is converting, it is making everything else very slow.

I know they need to be converted, but the problem is, 2000 of the 5000 have already been converted. now it's trying to convert them again. but there is no reason for that. i want to know how to convert the other files that weren't converted yet, without having to re-convert the ones that were already done.
I would move the ones that were done to a separate folder, but I don't know exactly what ones were done. In iTunes, they are the first 2000 or so in the list, but on my hard drive they are not in the same order.
Does anyone else know if there's a way to do this?

im trying to add music to my ipod from legitamate cds that i have bought it says they have to be converted from ACC to MP3.. fine its always comeup with that so i click convert... it gets through a few of the songs in the album then stops responding and i have to end the program on task manager...

this has never happened before its only since i installed the latest update for itunes!

I've just tried importing a WMA file and iTunes converted it as the file was imported. So that suggests that you should need to do any conversions, simply use File/Add File to library (or File/Add folder to library) and iTunes will do it for you.
Alternatively, import from the CDs your bought. It might be quicker.

1. As per your instruction, I turned off iTM.
Small discrepancy – where are two screens with iTM switch:
-Settings > iTunes & App Store.
-Settings > Music
I switched OFF in both.
NB: I turned device to English for convenience.
2. My next step was Setting > General > Usage – tapped {Music};
{All music} screen appeared; I swiped it and taped Delete.
3. I performed “hard reset” …………………………………..
4. Switched back On iTM
5. Taped Music app on Home screen
iTM has started – (it took 18 minutes to completed, 60 mbps Wi-Fi speed )

Erase and reset to factory default? Or I did smf wrong?

ITunes will not convert files

In the last couple of days iTunes stopped converting mp3 or wma files to apple lossless format. I get a -50 error. i called support four times today and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 10 for windows 7 64 bit twice to no avail.

There are no "PAA" files. All tracks from the iTunes Store are AAC. Do you mean that the file name for that track ends in .m4p? If so, try just renaming it so that it ends in .m4a. That may fix the problem.

To convert a song's file format:
Open iTunes Preferences.
Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
Click the General button, then click the Importing Settings button in the second section of the window.
From the Import Using pop-up menu, choose the encoding format that you want to convert the song to, then click OK to save the settings.
Select one or more songs in your library, then from the Advanced menu, choose one of the following (The menu item changes to show what's selected in your Importing preferences):
Create MP3 version
Create AAC version
Create AIFF version
Create WAV version
Create Apple Lossless version
If you haven't imported some songs into iTunes yet, you can import and convert them at the same time. This will create a converted copy of the file in your iTunes Library based on your iTunes preferences. To convert all the songs in a folder or on a disk, hold down the Option key (Mac) or Shift key (Windows) and choose Advanced > ConvertImport preference setting. The Import preference setting will match what you chose in step 3. iTunes will prompt you for the location of the folder or disk you want to import and convert. All the songs in the folder or on the disk will be converted. The song in its original format and the newly converted song appear in your library.

How do i move my itunes library from one acc't to another and then delete itunes on the old acc't?

I would like to set up a media acc't for my family of four to listen to our music library and view all of our photo's. Then I would like to delete Itunes from my personal acc't. I have been able to establish a media acc't for all family member's and opened Itunes (i can see all of my purchased songs, but not the ones i have downloaded from personal CD's) to use however, i need assistance in moving over all my music and then deleted the old Itunes from my personal acc't. Can anyone assist me?

Locate the song files in the Finder, drag them to a location in the /Users/Shared/ folder, load the shared iTunes library, drag them into the open iTunes application window, and delete the old iTunes library. If desired, you can move the old iTunes library to the Shared folder instead of individually moving the music files.

Itunes not playing songs properly

Itunes is playing SOME (not all) songs halfway, then skips to the next track. Some songs are missing entirely (they're listed, but when clicked doesn't play at all). Some songs is half of the right song, then is mixed with another song from another artist.
This happened before I updated to the new Itunes, did the update but still the problem persists.
Anyone know how I can fix this?

I have the exactly same problem. iTunes corrupted my entire library, 20GB of MP3s, all of them play a few seconds and then go back to the beggining. Using a sound editor I can see that it actually copied the first seconds of all songs and added it to the beggining. The number of seconds is not consistent on all the MP3s, some play 2 seconds and then go back to the beggining while others can play over 12 seconds before going back to the beggining. This happened after I noticed some of my older MP3s had an old version of the ID3Tags, so I used iTunes to convert my entire library's ID3Tag to the newer version. This happened about 2 years ago and I had no backup of my original files. The only fix to this problem I've found until now is to manually remove this extra seconds from the beggining of each MP3, but it's impossible to do that with over 5000 songs.

I'm not sure how this applies here, or even if it does, but when I made ringtones for my phone (not an iPhone) I had file size limits on how big it is. Have you seen any restrictions on how large a ring tone can be?
