I click download and it says thanks for downloading but it did not download!
I got a new computer and am trying to download itunes. I enter my email and click "Download now" and it immediately goes to the screen that says "thank you for downloading itunes" yet it hasn't downloaded anything. I've tried different email addresses - didn't work. I checked the computer and itunes has not been installed anywhere. I turned off the pop-up blocker but to no avail.
What browser are you using? Ther should be a link that says if the download does not start click here. Have you tried that? If you are using windows Internet explorer it may not work. Try good chrome of firefox.

Download error message on ipad for all itunes purchases
I am unable to download any of my purchases from itunes, music, movies, and tv shows on my ipad. When I click the download icon and the movie, for example, shows up in the downloads section of itunes with an error message "Download error: tap to retry". I have deleted the download using the swipe left & touching the Delete button. I have triede the multiple tapping of the down arrow, and even had to try an play the movies touching the play icon until the download cloud reappears and then the movie dissappears from the video window. No movie trailers will play either. The window opens up for a split second and that's it.
I have rest the ipad back to new and tried all of the above. Nothing works.I was not having this problem prior to yesterday. I had music, movies and tv shows downloaded prior to the reset.
What is the problem and what is the fix?Hello donada6240,
That definitely sounds frustrating. We have two potential fixes:
A) The issue may be isolated to your Wi-Fi network. Simply trying again on a different network will give us more insight into where the problem lies.
B) If the issue does not occur on your computer with iTunes, you may be able to download the purchases there, then sync to your iPad.
I highly recommend trying a different good-known network. And if it is indeed isolated to your network, see the following articles:

Itunes not opening error message too cryptic for me
Just got itunes installed on my laptop. Did it all correctly (admin rights, etc.). It ran fine yesterday, now today I try to open it and get a message: Instruction at "0x00008200" referenced memory at 0x00008200. The memeory could not be "read"
OK, I admit I'm not a wiz at computers, but this is too cryptic for me, any help out there???Might fix your problem:
Through Finder navigate to your users directory
Select the folder "Music"
Press CMD-i
An info windows will pop up
Scroll down to the very bottom
If necessary expand "Sharing & Permissions"
Is your username listed with Privilege "Read & Write"?
Tick the little lock at bottom right - enter your PW
If necessary correct your privileges
In any case press the little gearwheel - "Apply to enclosed items ..."
ok

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

Trying to download itunes onto new PC from browser, it comes up with thanks for downloading but it is not !
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -

Hey SDGardella,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are receiving error 499 when attempting to download purchases from the iTunes Store. The following resource outlines this error message:

Tried downloading itunes "thanks for downloading" but it didn't download
Bought a new Acer ultrabook with Windows 8. Through Internet Explorer, I clicked to download itunes and "Thanks for downloading" screen appears. Itunes is no where to be found! I tried downloading it through Google Chrome, too. Still no luck.
I did everything lllaass suggested and removed most of the itunes related components, but when I tried to remove itunes, I got the message, "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" so I was not able to uninstall it.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
when I attempt to access iTunes, I receive a message reading, "this copy of iTunes is corrupted or installed improperly, please reinstall iTunes," How do I do this and not lose my existing music library?
Hello, marty51.
I would start by removing iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified of this article. Your iTunes Media folder will not be affected.
