ITunes not installing because of Quicktime problem

I just got a 30 GB iPod for Christmas and installed everything on my old computer at home (5 years old but has Windows XP) and everything worked fine. I am now trying to download and install iTunes on my less than 6 month old laptop and am having no luck. With the iTunes setup it gets to Quicktime and then says something is wrong and it can't go any further. I have tried to download Quicktime separately and I get a "2803" error, then a "2350" error. Please help!

Have you tried this:
remove itunes
remove quicktime
remove iPod for windows
remove apple software updater
delete iTunes folder from C:\Program Files
delete quicktime folder form C:\program files
delete ipod folder from C:\Program files
delete apple software updater folder form C:\program files
delete quicktime and quicktimeVR from C:\windows\system 32
delete documents and settings\<user name>\application data\apple computer\
delete documents and settings\all users\application data\ apple computer\
run a search for "quicktime" deleted all files bearing that name.
ran installer clean up (you can get that from (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301)
delete c:\documents and settings\<user name>\local settings\temp
clear temp internet folder
clear C:\windows\temp (Note: Don't delete the folder itself just everything in it)
restart computer
run QuicktimeInstaller.exe from desktop
verify that quicktime is opening
quicktime opens?
If so:
install iTunesSetup.exe from desktop
Verify that iTunes opens?
If you get a corrupt .cab file then the above should fix it. If it still won't open I'd suggest doing an MSCONFIG and then repeating the steps. MSCONFIG can be found here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538

I have windows 7 64 bit but the new itunes will not install because it can't find itunes64.msi.  I have searched evertwhere on my pc. In addition, I can't uninstall the itunes and reinstall for the same reason. I can't upgrade for my icloud account.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • I have several keynote presentations on my computer but now am getting the message that the program cannot be installed "because of a problem." All this started when I bought microsoft office for  University (2011). What is the problem and how can I fix

I have several keynote presentations on my newish computer but am not unable to open them. I get the message "keynote cannot be installed because of a problem" (unspecified). Does anybody know why this happend? Does it related to using Microsoft "University"  2011? How can I fix it? Thanks!

    Thank you for your reply.
I just tried the 3-step process suggested on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2431353
This all started when my mouse/thumb clicker was going crazy. Found an expanded battery. Obviously need a new battery. Unfortunately must wait 6 weeks to get my new battery. Meanwhile, I'm running my computer on AC only, as there appears to be no other option. I was informed that when using AC only (no battery) some high-energy-use programs like Office might not function.
Do you know if there is away to use office even when just using AC and not having the battery in? I'm doubting if I have other OSX problems because everything else works: email, safari, itunes, iphoto, quicktime, etc . . . . ?

  • Why is my itunes not installing properly? I installed it and it was fine, then it started to show Errors. iTunes exe - Entry Point not Found. And the Error 7 (Windows error 127).Itsays to reinstall iTunes. I did that and same error. new pc, same on old

Why is my itunes not installing properly?
I installed itunes day before yesterday,  I spent hours last night linking all my music photograph and movie files, its a new windows 8 laptop.
I plugged in my 64GB ipad 3 rebooted it and reloaded all the information I wanted on it, took hours... finally completed this this morning. After this I restarted the laptop to configure my icloud link for the laptop (which I installed last night while I was loading files, I chose to restart later)
on completion I turned my laptop off for a few hours, when I turned it back on I went to itunes to connect my iphone to do the same and I got this message:
iTunes exe - Entry Point Not Found
    The procedure entry point
    AVCFPlayerAppliesMediaSelectionCriteriaAutomaticallyKey could not
be located in dynamiclink library F:\Programmes\iTunes.dll
                                                                                               OK
then after pressing 'OK' the following message:
    iTunes
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes
    Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I went back to apple website to reinstall iTunes, first reinstalled it same again, then unsinstalled it and the reinstalled it, same again.
The same thing happened with my old lap top and I replaced it with this new one at the start of the week.
Has anyone any idea what is going on and how to rectify this problem, I am now going on 3 weeks without iTunes.
    Regards,
    Damian36

I started up and plugged in my iPad  and then the following message came up:
           iTunes
❗️This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not
Installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install
        the 64-bit version of iTunes.
                                                                                             OK
I then proceeded to the "iTunes64Setup" expanded folder to load "AppleMobileDeviceSupport64"
Started the install and then received this message:
          Apple Mobile Device Support

        Privileges to start system services.
       Abort.               Retry.                Ignore
I tried all tree options, last being ignore.
I continued to download the other 2 you suggested with out any drama.
I did a system restart and then opened iTunes.
    Connected my iPad
    Then message appears:
          iTunes .exe - System Error
❌ The program can't start because CoreAdioToolbox.dll is missing from
Your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.
                                                                                           OK
Press OK and then the next message:

          Error 7 (Windows error 126)
                                                                                           OK

  • Itunes not installed correctly error even though install is successful

I installed Itunes 9 and was working fine. All of a sudden i started getting errors saying "Itunes not installed correctly. Please reinstall Itunes" Error 7 keeps coming.
I reinstalled and installed several times. Finally i removed all apple software in the order of itunes, quicktime player, and other apple software. I reinstall and still keeps saying "Not installed corectly". I have windows xp professional.
    I'm pulling my hair

Have you give the complete error message?
Some people have had error 7 when there is a problem with Apple Application support.
Did you remove that when you did your uninstalls?

  • The application was not installed because it is not signed

    Hi
I am having a weird problem with some apps following a restore.
When I synch with iTunes, some apps are installed, and others get an error "the application was not installed because it is not signed".
These are ordinary apps, such as facebook.
The really strange thing is I can download the apps direct to the iphone, but instead of them appearing as a brand new app, all my previously recorded settings are restored.
The Capacity bar in iTunes is showing a large amount of 'other' data being stored on the phone. Its as if the apps are being transfered to the iphone from my PC, but just not being enabled.
I am running iTunes 9.2.1.5 and iOS 4.02 on a vista 64 PC.
    Can anyone help?
    Regards
    Grant

If you are seeing alot of "Other" in the capacity there is a issue with the software you loaded onto the phone. When you did the restore did you restore from backup?
If so restore again and setup the device as new. Then sync all content back and should resolve the issue.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Application not installed because it is not signed

None of my music or videos would show up on my iPhone 4, so I am trying to restore it but now no applications will install back on the phone. It gives the error "Application not installed because it is not signed" for 69 out of the 72 apps I am trying to re-install after a restore from iTunes. Any suggestions please.

I acquired my Verizon iPhone less than two weeks ago and had the same problems reported here - many, many "...Application not installed because it is not signed" errors. On following the Apple Troubleshooting advice, iTunes deleted everything I had downloaded on the iPhone.
After reading this thread, I turned off my network card and then turned off Zone Alarm. This time, everything sync'd on the first try.
Yes, it ***** to have to do that, but you don't have to REMOVE your ZoneAlarm; just disable it temporarily to get the sync done. It is a pain, yes, to not be able to use the computer to connect to the Internet for that 15 minutes or so, but if you do it right you won't be at risk and you'll be able to back up your phone/load music and etc.
Until ZoneAlarm fixes itself, this is our best option.

  • App not installed because it could not be found

Last week during the flurry of updates before iOS 7 was released, one of the updates I received was not installed because the minimum iOS was now 7 and my iPhone has 6.1.4. When I found out the problem, I went to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Mobile Applications and removed the incompatible app and replaced it with the one that had been moved to the trash. I then deleted the incompatible app from my iMac. Now however, everytime I sync, I get the message that the app wasn't installed because it couldn't be found, even though the correct compatible app is in the folder wher it belongs AND is installed on both my iPhone and iPad. Any way to get iTunes to stop trying to install a non-existent app?

    Hello there, Romad.
The following Knowledge Base article has information on how to download previously purchased content. You'll be best served by deleting the app in question and following the instructions that follow:
Downloading past purchases from the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store

  • I have installed the most recent version of Snow Leopard on my MAC, and I am trying to install Mountain Lion from the Apple Store.  It will not install, because it says I do not have 2GB of memory, even though I have over 200GB available.  Please help.

I have installed the most recent version of Snow Leopard on my MAC, and I am trying to install Mountain Lion from the Apple Store.  It will not install, because it says I do not have 2GB of memory, even though I have over 200GB available.  Please help.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
One thing is the memory, and another thing is the hard disk space. You are telling me that you have 200 GB of free space on the hard disk, but the App Store is telling you that you have to install 2 GB of memory or more on your Mac if you want to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
First of all, open  > About this Mac > More Info, and copy "Model Identifier" here, so we can know what Mac you have got and how much memory you can install.
We recommend to buy the memory in OWC or Crucial (Crucial is cheaper and offers the same compatibility warranty as OWC) because you won't probably have any problem with the memory you buy there

  • I just updated my mac and when i went to open iphoto it says it "can not open because of a problem" how do i fix this?

i just updated my mac and when i went to open iphoto it says it "can not open because of a problem" how do i fix this?

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.
