ITunes not loading

All of the sudden I can't sign in to iTunes,I get a message that reads:We could not complete your iTunes request. An unknown error occured(-50)There wan an error in iTunes store. Please try again later: Could someone give me a clue on whats happening? Thanks

In the context of a 50 when connecting to the store, the following document might be of some assistance:
[iTunes Store: Error (-50) when downloading purchased content|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1583]
Granted, you're getting this when contacting the store rather than when downloading. But the same sorts of measures could well apply.

  • ITunes not loading properly

After having to re-install my copy of Windows XP Pro on my desktop I went about installing all my software. Now that everything was loaded I tried to open iTunes in order to put my music library back in it. After waiting for a while for itunes to load up I looked at the task manager and noticed that it had only loaded um about 35/36 Megs, and wasn’t loading any more of the program. I was also unable to fully load any of my other programs after that which had worked fine before hand. After being unable to end any of these processes I restarted my computer. After restarting i could open any of my programs but itunes would still not load. This problem persists even after un-installing and re-installing itunes. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    Hello, Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You mention that you had to re-install Windows XP. Did you restore it to a system restore point? or did you do a format of the Windows OS and reinstall the OS from scratch?
If you browse to C:/Program Files is there more then 1 folder called iTunes?

  • Itunes not loading correctly

Loading the latest version of iTunes has resulted in an absolute disaster.
HP Pavillion. Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (64-bit), Norton Anti-Virus
Since I upgraded to iTunes 11.0.1.12 it has been an unmitigated disaster.
I have an iPad, an iPhone 4S and a classic iPod 140G
iPod information Model MC297LL, Version 2.0.4 PC
Thankfully when I started trying to sync things with the iPod, I encountered so many problems that I made sure that nothing else has interfaced with iTunes.
Have not gotten a successful sync between the iPod and iTunes yet. Error messages so far to date - Something about iPod service not being installed correctly. A Windows pop-up that talks about some files being a problem and do I want Windows to scan my iPod. The service for communicating with iPods, etc. was not installed correctly do you want iTunes to repair it. The software required for this iPod was not installed correctly.
I have re-installed iTunes 4 times now. And yes, I've restarted the machine both after installing it and re-installing it.
I made the huge mistake of restarting and reinstalling the software. (That move wiped out the 6,600 songs that I had on the iPod and only made matters worse.)
Now I can only get a small amount of my iTunes library (I ONLY have music) to load on my iPod. Right now it will only load about 1/6th of my library. Various error messages will come up.
At this point, I'm not certain if it's the iPod, or iTunes that's the problem. I'm sure as heck not going to jeapordize anything else to find out.

I would be surprised if this was a general problem with the powerbook though, as I have only had this problem with itunes. As soon as I quit itunes, the problem goes away and the computer behaves normally. I've also never had this problem with any other program on my computer.
I'll put a post in the powerbook forum though later tonight about it.
How do I uninstall iTunes without deleting my music library? I'm thinking reinstalling the program might be the best first step since i have no idea what else to do.

  • Itunes not loading all hours of paid podcasts

itunes only partially loads my paid podcasts. This began happening after 10/25/13. I get hours 2 and 3 but not the 1st hr. I have reviewed my settings and all appears to be in order. Any suggestions? I already reported this to itunes. Thanks!

Any one? I'm new to posting here so not sure what to expect for response time...if any!

  • ITunes not loading after update to OS X Yosemite

Running a Mac Mini... after updating to Yosemite a week or so ago, I haven't been able to load and run iTunes. No error messages, nothing, just won't run. I've tried restarting, reinstalling iTunes, reinstalling iTunes and restarting, and nothing. What's going on? Thanks.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. iTunes doesn't work in safe mode, but it should launch. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • ITunes not loading - "Unable to locate Music Folder"

    Guys,
Having huge problems - I decided to move all my iTunes purchases and music onto a portable device, changing the location path from the C:\ drive to H:\ drive. Since I carried this out - everytime I try and load iTunes I get this error message:-
"The folder "i Tunes" cannot be found or created, and is required.
The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder.
I have totally wiped the pc of iTunes, re-downloaded from iTunes website and re-installed everything but I am still having this error message appear!. I need help..............
    Leon.

Have had the same problem starting abruptly a few days ago without any new computer software or updates on a WIndows XP Media Edition computer. Troubleshooting including removing and reinstalling all Apple software did not work. Seemed to be a user - specific issue but the Apple provided trouble shooting removing preference files and plugins did not work. The same error message as above occurs.
I will try the SHIFT-OPEN iTUNES solution and see what happens. If the same error message recurs I will try to contact Apple directly.

  • New Laptop..iTunes not loading...any ideas?

Please forgive if this is a redundant question, but I am unable to load iTunes on my new Vaio notebook. The error message I receive ends with: not valid win32 application.
I'm not sure exactly what that means, but any advice would be welcomed and appreciated!

Try going to sony and downloading the latest updates for your laptop, especailly patches for iTunes.
Try uninstalling iTunes AND quicktime in the control panel and then reinstall iTunes with antivirus disabled

  • Itunes not loading correctly - does not display correctly

since my powerbook came back from repair 3 weeks ago, about every other time i try to start up itunes, it displays totally strangely. Basically, it looks like just the text displays, but not the program interface. it overlays over whatever was already on my screen. so basically there are random names of songs all over my screen, and every time i click the mouse somewhere on the screen the mess gets overlayed with even more text. i took a screen shot of it, but i guess you can't post images on here. What is going on here and how do i fix it??

I would be surprised if this was a general problem with the powerbook though, as I have only had this problem with itunes. As soon as I quit itunes, the problem goes away and the computer behaves normally. I've also never had this problem with any other program on my computer.

Bought a new 30gb ipod...videos that worked on the older ipod video will not work on this..what do I need to do?

I had this same problem you described. My ipod would only put on select videos. This is how i fixed my problem... I connected my ipod to my computer and then in itunes the ipod updater poped up and i went the top of the updater and and clicked on the video tab. Then i went where is says svnc i clicked on all.(This gets rid of the all unwatched, when it says all unwatched it only updates all of the unwatched videos.) Then make sure you you click on apply at the bottom right hand corner of the ipod updater. Hope this fixes your problem

We are running Blackboard Academic Suite, Release 8.0.375.0, Enterprise with the Baker 0.4.0 Building Block. Previosuly I was able to access iTunes U with no problem from a course. Other users are also getting the error - but not all! Any suggestions?

  • Vidoes/TV shows purchased on itunes not loading to ipod

Recently purchased a movie and TV shows, which I can view on itunes, but they are not showing up on the ipod itself, and the videos that were previously on my Ipod are now gone. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

OKAY...this was the same thing that happened to me and I figured out the problem...it might be the same for you all...when you plug your iPod into the usb and the iPod Updater screen appears through your iTunes account, go to the "TV Shows" tab at the top. MAKE SURE YOU SELECT "Sync ALL videos." It turns out that the videos that weren't appearing on my iPod were the ones that had been watched at least once. I had the "Sync ALL UNWATCHED" option selected, there for all of the episodes that were viewed on my computer were not synced onto my iPod. HOPE THIS HELPS!
