Itunes not opening problem fixed now new problem

Like many of you I am frustrated that after I just upgraded to Itunes version 6 I was unable to open it. After searching the internet and various forums I finally stumbled upon Rachyl's solution of using msconfig which worked. However, that doesn't appear to be a permanent solution because now some of the things that I would like to open on startup don't. For example, after using the msconfig solution Norton Antivirus no longer worked. Is there a way to make it a normal startup yet have Itunes work?

Hmmm...that is an interesting question. It shuts down now, but would not before? Perhaps Norton was busy doing something. To be totally honest, I hate Norton, its expensive and a HUGE memory hog. My PC ran much slower when I was using Norton. Since removing it and going to a free antivirus program, it has speeded up tremendously.
Depends on what you disabled during MSCONFIG. Whatever you disabled was most likely the culprit to that as well.

"A Fix For iTUNES Not Opening"

Well, after trying to figure out what was going on with iTunes not opening at all. It turns out that by default for some reason Windows Xp Firewall disables it from opening it. iTunes however is acting like a server for the simple fact that you exchange data between your computer and iTunes Store. Since there is no option to force this connection to happen, you have to get ZoneAlarm to do so. I’m using ZoneAlarm Suite Edition, but it also works with the free Edition of ZoneAlarm. So what ZoneAlarm does is actually enables the connection between your computers data (iTunes) and iTunes servers to connect.
So first off make sure that you uninstall any Anti-Virus program so that only ZoneAlarm is installed/Running. Run ZoneAlarm and once that’s achieved you then go ahead and run iTunes. You will then be prompted twice, the first time it will prompt you about itunes.exe running as a program (Click Yes) and the second is very important since this is what enables iTunes to make a forced connection with iTunes servers (Click yes again). Once that’s done, you will see iTunes runs again. You can also uninstall ZoneAlarm and you will see that iTunes will still open even after ZoneAlarm is Uninstalled. I will see if I can make a .reg file so that you don’t have to install ZoneAlarm to make iTunes open again, but then again it wouldn’t hurt having ZoneAlarm installed since ZoneAlarm is a great tool.

I’m sure this will work for anyone clicking the iTunes icon and getting nothing after a sec of the hour-glass disappearing and also seeing that iTunes.exe disappears in the Task Manager. So the chances of this working are high and once again since its free it wont hurt to try. Thank you again for your attention. Instead of "Click Yes" its supposed to be "Click Allow".

Firefox will not open tabs in a new window

When I right click a tab, and select the option "Open in a new window", Firefox does not respond.
I can add as many tabs as I like, but can not open them in a new window.
I can also right click a link and open it in a new tab, but Firefox does not do anything when I try to open the link in a new window.
I reinstalled Firefox on my computer, and also updated Java and it did not solve the problem.
This started happening about a week ago for no apparent reason.

First check to see if an add-on is causing this problem, for details on how to do that see the [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article.
If that does not help, try creating a new profile. Firefox stores user data in the profile folder, creating a new profile will show if the problem is with the old profile. If the new profile works, you can transfer select data such as bookmarks and passwords to the new profile. DO not copy the preferences file, and it is best to re-install add-ons. I tried opening it from the application folder and nothing happens. I have tried from the dock and the same thing. Unfortunately this is not the application that I ws intending to work on. This was running perfectly fine for me. I have a lot of music on it. I know all is still there because I can see it through spotify. I started looking for help with Face time with came up with a needing proper credentials in order to open. Now neither open after a 9 an automatic download of nine updates. At this point I don't know what else to do.

Since up grading to Adobe Reader X when I try to open any program Adobe tries to open it, therefore I can not open any programs now on my computer. I need help very quickly.

Thank you for the update. I recommend verifying that you are signed in with the same Apple ID associated with or used to purchase iPhoto on the App Store under the Store menu.
If you are signed in with an alternate Apple ID, I recommend signing out of the App Store, signing back in with the correct Apple ID, and then trying the update again:
Sign out
Choose Store > Sign Out.
Sign in using an Apple ID
Choose Store > Sign In, or click Sign In in the Quick Links section. The Quick Links section is located in the right part of the window shown when you click Featured, Top Charts, or Categories in the toolbar.

you would have gotten a faster response by posting in installing and upgrading itunes. that forum is where we are discussing downloading issues, many problems already addressed, such as yours.
perhaps you should go to that side and read thru what users have found to work for them and post your questions there. also, i need much more info than it just wont open.

Ok, after two whole months of not
figuring out the problem...
I fixed it!

Right when it happened I told
the situation to my friend.
She told me she had the same
problem and it happend because
she deleted a program called Safari,
Apples version of internet explorer, firefox, ect.
Well I just thought, you know, she's an amateur
she has no idea what she's doing. But
I downloaded it weeks before to download a video
and when I uninstalled it, iTunes and quicktime quit
working. So again I downloaded safari yesterday do download
another video and...it worked
So, if anyone is having the problems trying to launch itunes,
just download safari and it should start to work again.
I recieved an error messege trying to open the programs.

Well Safari is embedded in iTunes. Its used for browsing media in the store. But it should have been re-installed when you re-installed iTunes.
If not, there is serious issue with Apple's Add/Remove process.
It sounds like it removed the software, but left the registry entry suggesting it was still there.

ASKB - POsting Period not open problem

Hi All,
I saw many threads on this problem but not got suiatable solution thats why i am raising this thread again.
Due to some problem my client not Run ASKB for October period, now when he is trying to run ASKB for November month he is getting error that 'Posting period is not open'.
Now we cannot open 'Posting period' 'October' because of some organizational issues.
Kindly suggest me how i run ASKB for 'Current month.

To my regret, is the answer here is definitely NO.
A reconciliation of the system would be not possible (For example, in foreign currency and a parallel currency).
This source of error was stopped by switching from batch input sessions to the Direct booking with RAPERB2000. (With batch input sessions it was possible to manipulate).
Furthermore, the values in the periodically posting areas have to be posted into the correct period.
If the reconciliation is not relevant, you can check via testrun which values have to be posted and post them via FB01. In this case you have to manipulate also the table TABAS and T093D. But take into acount that this is on your own risk and will not be supported by SAP.
My personal opinion: Open the periods and run the RAPERB2000 regular.

New iTunes not opening on iMac w OS10.6.8

tried to connect my iPhone 4 to my iMac and was told that I had to upgrade to the new iTunes ver. 11.11 since my iPhone is now running of ver. 7.0.2
My iMac is running OS ver 10.6.8 and when I looked for softawre updates iTunes was the only one that showed up. Ran the download program then restarted the computer. But now iTunes will not open.. Anyone else have this issue?.

issue resolved for the moment. Although the new version of iTunes was not starting on it's own with the iMac. It did start up once I conected my iPhone to the computer...

Unusual firefox not opening problem

I clicked on a thing in facebook, I exit firefox, go make a tea. Come back click to open firefox again, it looks like it wants to open but nothing, no message or window at all. It fails completely to open at all. I then proceed to do a virus check, nothing. I then do a complete uninstall which went surprisingly well and hassle free then a complete re-install. Upon re-installing, it says extracting 0% then the window closes and again just nothing. Ive tried a full system resotre to a few days previously but that failed as it said nothing was there. Admitadly im a pretty techno-phobic 18 year old(gimme the vinyl anyday!). But I really need mozzila back because Internet explorer has none of my bookies or tabs. Hellpppp!!!

It is possible that some extensions prevented proper closing of Mozilla Firefox. You may not be able to close Firefox properly due to extensions like Skype 4.0, Norton Toolbar and Norton IPS. Thus, restarting of Firefox is being prevented. You need to remove these extensions to fix the issue. At first, you need to open up ‘Process’ tab of Windows Task Manager and select the firefox.exe entry and click the ‘End Process’ button. You need to continue the steps until each additional firefox.exe processes are stopped. You can now start Firefox and in the Add-ons menu and open the Extensions panel. Here, you need to disable Norton IPS, Norton Toolbar and Skype 4.0. After a clean restart of Firefox, you will get the issue fixed.
