Itunes not recognizing 7th gen iPod after updating to windows 8.1 and latest itunes, works on other computers

So I updated my computer to 8.1 I don't know if I synced my ipod after that, but I know immediately after updating iTunes, I began to receive an error message saying iTunes recognizes that I connected an iPod, but can't identify properly.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as restarting the computer, trying different USB ports. it works when I connect it to other computers.

1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Tap Settings > General > Date and Time > Set Automatically > Off. Set the date one year ahead. Then try to access the App Store.
It may be a connection issue. Try changing your DNS settings to Google’s open DNS by tapping Settings > Wi-Fi >, tap the blue arrow next to your current Wi-Fi network, and then tap the “DNS” field and enter the DNS servers; 8.8.8.8 (Google’s Public DNS, 8.8.4.4 also alternate).

ITunes not recognizing my Iphone 5. Updated to the new OS X

I just recently updated my MacBook Pro to the latest OSX 10.9.2 and I just plugged in my Iphone to manage storage and ITunes is not seeing it at all. I have the most current version of ITunes 11.1.5 and my IPhone software is current as well. This is the first time I have ever had this issue so I am assuming it is an Apple software issue that needs a patch?? Can anyone help??

I had a similar problem and fixed it.
This is what I did. (Follow these steps):
1. Make sure your phone is not connected/plugged to your computer then continue on step 2.
(For some reason, apparently iTunes also get installed to Iphone's which makes it sort of faulty.)
2. By going to your computer's Control Panel - Uninstall iTunes. To completely uninstall iTunes you need to uninstall 5 programs in this very sequence. (You have to make sure you follow this in order.)

Bonjour
Apple Application Support
3. Then simply re-install the latest iTunes again. Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ , on the left side of that page you'll see a blue botton that say's "Download Now". Press that button and it should allow you to make sure that you've downloaded the latest iTunes.
4. Once you've reinstalled it go ahead and start iTunes and connect/plug your Iphone to your computer. iTunes should now be able to recognise your Iphone.
5. If it still does not work try unplugging your Iphone again, restart your computer and connect your Iphone once more. See it your computer recognises your device.
Steps 1-4 worked out real well for me so I hope it does for you too. If still a no no why not try and contact apple themselves they should be able to give help.

I have an iphone 3G. I recently upgraded the software to the 4.0. i then went back to itunes to restore my settings. itunes recognized my device but said I needed new version. I went to dodwnload it. My computer crashed and now itunes won't recognize my phone.

Firefox will not bring up any webpages after updating to v3.6.7 and then 3.6.8

Everything ran well in v 3.6.6. Today it seemingly upgraded to v3.6.7 and then a Mozilla web page strongly suggested upgrading to v.3.6.8. I did. Sometime after this Norton 360 v3 found some bad files and quarantined them and needed a reboot. After that reboot no web pages would work in FF. I followed the Norton 360 connection thread and that did not help. I also received a new router yesterday, but v3.6.6 worked fine today and IE works now, so I doubt that the router is the reason. Right now I would be happy to revert to 3.6.6 or else uninstall and try from scratch. I have tried a few reboots, but they did not help.

Hi I have a Macbook and I just downloaded the latest update for iTunes and when I plugged in my iPod to sync I keep getting and error message. How do I fix this problem?

ITunes not recognizing my sim card after iPhone update

Hi,
So I just updated my iPhone software to the iOS 4 version on my 3G and connected it to itunes. Everything got backed up fine but when connecting to the itunes store, it says that my sim card is not supported.
I've tried turning it off and switching it back on, but nothing seems to work.
If anyone can help me in this, it would be awesome!

Are thses actual microSIMs or regular SIMs that have been cut down?
IF they have been cut down, it's possible they were not cut properly and are not making contact resulting in marginal performance.
If they are microSIMs then it's possible the iPhone is experiencing a hardware issue.

My music will not sync to my iPod after updating it to IOS6

Okay so earlier this week i got notifed for a new update. I didn't want it so I cancled it. Today I watned to sync new music to my iPod but it comepletely shut down. It started to restore by itself and deleted everything. Luckily I had it back-uped to my computer so it fixed everything BUT my music. I have tried some of the tips that have been given to others on here but none of them work.
I tried "unchecking" the synv music box in the summary and all.
I tired restoring the whole thing.
I tried wifi sync and nothing. Its the same crap.
I turned off the music match and and reset it. Still nothing. This is frustrating me! So much for improving everything. This is crap.
I need help!

I also have a 4G ipod touch and a similar problem. Since I updated to the ios5 software any new songs I add to my iTunes don't sync to my ipod main playlist. They show up in the 'recently added' playlist, but not in the main 'songs' section. I fixed the problem once by restoring to factory settings and rather than reinstalling from a backup, I created a new ipod name and synced everything onto my ipod as if it was new.
This worked until the next new song I added and then the same problem started all over again. If you do reinstall everything as new, you may want to take a screen shot of where all your apps are and make sure all your photos etc are saved, as everything will be from scratch. Hope this helps!

PSE 12 does not crop after "updates" by windows 8.1 and/or chrome

All was working fine on my new Asus zenbook running PSE 12 on 8.1. Then the computer eves updated chrome and windows 8.1.
Suddenly, the cursor grabs onto images and commands and twirls them around randomly. I cannot get PSE to crop an image. The crop box appears on the screen even before I left click. The box resizes itself and twirls end over end. I cannot commit to an edit or do anything with the photo.
I have uninstalled 8.1, 8, and pse12. Nothing is any better.
I bought this zenbook specifically to use with photoshop. Now I think I will return it.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks for the suggestion. It slows down the twirling crop cursor, but not ieen Expert mode. And there is still a lot of trouble in Quick. It now takes me three or four times as long to work on a picture than it did a month ago. But at least I can make some progress.

HT6058 iPhone put into Recovery Mode after updating to 7.0.4, and now iTunes can't restore it from my computer. What do I do?

Once my iPhone 4 updated the iOS to 7.0.4, it immediately went into Recovery Mode, with the iTunes symbol. I plugged it into my computer, and it says I need to restore the iPhone. I click Restore, but in says it can't connect because of my network connection. I've followed every troubleshooting issue from the support section related that issue, but it STILL won't connect and download the recovery.
What do I do to get my iPhone fixed? And why did 7.0.4 cause this?

Don't worry about that. iPhone stuck in recovery mode always happens when you update the iOS on your iPhone. There are two ways to solve it.
First is is to put your iPhone in DFU mode.
Step 1. Turn off iPhone
Step 2. Hold down the Power and Home button.
Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the Home button down.
Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that it’s in restore mode.
If DFU mode can't solve the problem, I'm afraid the only solution is to try some 3rd party software, like iPhone data recovery or something like that. You may simply try the tutorial here: How to Fix iPhone that is Stuck in Recovery Mode.

I've recently had trouble with iTunes not recognizing/reading my iPod. I've plugged it in, but iTunes fails to recognize that it's been plugged in. It does charge, but that's it. I've been trying to sync my iPod, but I'm now unable to. This problem only began a few weeks ago, rather suddenly, and has not yet worked since then. I'm hoping I don't have reinstall iTunes, as I've purchased some new songs and those are what I'm trying to copy over, and I don't wish to lose those.
I'm currently running Windows Vista, and I'm not sure which versions of iTunes I'm using. I know I was using 7 at some point, but I don't remember if I've updated beyond that. I'm also using a 2nd Generation iPod Nano.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening and/or what I can do to fix it will be eagerly waited for!

Unfortunately, there is no one ‘Silver Bullet’ answer for this issue. Many things can contribute to the problem. Here are various ‘generic’ solutions that you can try in an effort to correct your problem. One should work. These are listed in simplest to more involved order (usually). Read through them all, and see if one specifically matches your observed issue(s).
First, make sure that the iPod is fully charged.
Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. However, it may take several attempts.
Try closing and re-starting iTunes. There have been cases where iTunes refuses to see an iPod, but after re-starting, it works again.
Also try re-booting the entire computer. Especially if the PC has been operating for a long time &/or many programs have been opened and closed, repeatedly.
Other USB connected peripherals may be the cause as well. Try removing all connected USB items and attaching the iPod. If you have a USB keyboard, it may be worth a try using the adapter to convert it to non-USB. If the iPod connects, continue plugging things back in until you have the problem return. You may have then isolated the issue. Sometimes it could be a printer, camera, Flash Card reader, or other attached device causing a conflict.
Your iPod may be conflicting with other USB peripherals or network drives. If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
-- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
-- Safely eject the iPod
-- Reboot the PC
-- Open iTunes &/or Connect the iPod
If you do find that your Device Manager is blank, you should probably check up on this issue first: No Items Appear in the Device Manager List When You Open It
If that doesn't work, Put Your iPod into Disk Mode then plug it in and you should be able to Restore the iPod
Your PC may have difficulty with the USB2 protocol and the iPod. See this Article for a possible solution: iPod not Recognized Correctly
Also try these hints (and the other suggestions above) from any other USB port you may have on the PC. Sometimes switching USB ports can make all the difference.
Try using another PC if you have access to one. Even a Mac may help. Try Restoring it on the other computer and moving it back to yours.

Itunes not recognizing ipod or cd

Ever since I downloaded iTunes 6.0, iTunes does not recognize that my iPod is connected (but windows explorer does), and it does not recognize CDs (again, windows explorer does). I've already tried resetting my iPod when it's connected to my computer, when it's on the charger, whatever, and it's not doing anything. I think there's a problem with the new version of iTunes, or at least just mine. PLEASE HELP!
