ITunes not recognizing iPad or iPhone via wireless
I've been noticing that since the last iTunes update iTunes won't recognize my iPad or iPhone via my wireless connection when I launch iTunes. I have to manually plug each one in to sync, and this has been getting progressively worse over the last few weeks.
At first it was only sometimes, then it was just the iPhone, then it was just the iPad, then it would alternate between the two, and now it won't recognize either.
Do I have something off in my settings, or is this a bug in the new iTunes system?
Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

itunes is not recognizing ipad or iphone--I recently upgraded to snow leapord
Make sure that you install every update to Snow Leopard if you haven't done so already. Go to Software Update and see if there are more updates available.
When I first updated my MacBook to SL from Leopard, I ran into the same situation. After I completely updated all the way to 10.6.8, then iTunes could see my iPad again.
If you have updated all the way, quit iTunes, restart your Mac, restart the iPad and then try again. -

HT4972 iTunes not recognizing (mounting) my iPhone. What to do?
.....and I cannot hard quit my phone.
See the post <a href="https://discussions.apple.com/message/20301184#20301184">here</a>
The easiest is to navigate to the device manager to make sure the iphone driver is installed right. If it's like my hubs puter; the driver gets screwed up when he updates the phone via itunes.
1.)Device Manager
2.)Portable Devices
3.)Right click on apple device driver
4.)Update driver where you find it here
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
Windows will not install the driver any other way. -
iPad is not responding. It ONLY shows an iTunes icon and a USB cable in the middle of an all black screen. I have tried to reset it manually and via iTunes (not responsive), linked it to iTunes (not recognized), etc. Nothing works. This happened after an iTunes updated, after I was asked to "restore" my iPad to factory settings.
Thanks, King_Penguin. Yes, I tryied putting the iPad into recovery mode. It freezes in the black screen with the iTunes and USB cable. When I followed the instructions and then started iTunes, I received the following message: "A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes (-424040)".
I have unistalled iTunes three times already and donloaded and installed three new versions. No luck.
Thanks a billion once again! -
ITunes not recognizing iPhone 5 iO7 on Windows 7
I have exhausted myself dealing with this problem. My iTunes will not recognize my iPhone 5. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and my computer recognizes the phone when i plug it in, however, my iTunes does not so I am not able to sync any music. I have tried practically everything I have found on the internet to fix this problem and even the people at the Apple store could not help me with my problem. I have uninstalled and installed all Apple related programs, I have insured that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is working correctly but nothing seems to fix the problem. I just don't know what to do anymore because nothing seems to work. I have followed the suggestions contained in the following discussions but nothing seems to work. Thank you for your help.

Re: iTunes not recognizing iPhone 5
Feb 16, 2014 7:45 AM (in response to oryyx)
Had this problem this morning.
Once in the past had to erase my iphone and reload it.That was unpleasant.
This morning had the problem,too.
Plugged in my iphone directly into the Imac (not hub) then clicked shut down on the imac.
Pressed the button in the back while the iphone was still plugged in-and when rebooted iphone was visable in itunes.
Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for your suggestion. I'm using a MacBook Air and I just tried this with my laptop - shutting down the computer all the say (not restarting it) and then booting it back up with the phone plugged in. It didn't work but it was worth a shot! Thank you!

I had this exact same problem and just figured out how to fix it. I had to reload the driver on the iphone5 in order for itunes to recognize the device. Follow the steps here to see if you might need to do the same thing. Once I reinstalled the driver, everything works fine and I'm now able to sync with itunes again.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have seen a TON of posts like mine where this is the solution. Unfortunately, I am on a Mac not Windows so the driver isn't the problem. -
I am getting a "not delivered" when I try to send a photo from my Ipad or iPhone via iMessage. I can receive photos in iMessage and I can send and receive photos other than with iMessage. I have tried restoring factory settings etc but no luck. Is anyone else having this problem please?
I've been having this problem too, but here's the catch: originally it was only with my dad, and only sometimes. Now it's dad and husband, every time! Pix go through, via imessage, to everyone else, and they go through to dad/husband if I "send as text" after it fails.
And the other annoying thing- the blue bar will run all the way, and it will say "delivered". So I close out of imessage. When I reopen it again, the "delivered" has changed to "not delivered" with the red exclamation point. I just googled "imessage not sending photos" and founds TONS of people with the same problem, but no solutions. (I have rebooted phone, reset network settings, with no luck. I even had to backup/delete/restore my whole phone the other day for a different reason, and hoped that would fix it, but now it won't send to my dad OR my husband (who is on not just the same carrier, but the same family plan as me) -

HT1689 iTunes search on iPad and iPhone is not working.
When I open iTunes on my iPad and iPhone the search feature doesn't work. Any suggestions on how to resolve that?
Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.
