Itunes not recognizing my iphone after the new update. Help!
Ok, so after my old dinosaur computer finally finished updating and restoring my iphone4 with the new software, everything seems ok with the exception of about 20 ringtones that didn't get restored over. So I go to replug in my phone and I get an error message saying "This iphone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service has not been started."
WHAT???? I just updated the stupid phone for hours and now it does this? So now it's not even being recognized in my itunes window. Anyone???

First thing to try is to re-install iTunes (download it HERE and run the installer) - but, there's no need to uninstall it first. If that does not correct the problem, you may need to remove and reinstall AMDS, as described in this linked kbase article.

I have been successfully syncing my iPhone 3G for many months now. But this week I updated my OS to 10.5.6 and ran all the additional updates. Now when I plug in my iPhone, iTunes doesn't see it. I have iTunes 8 installed. I have shut down and restarted my machine and my iPhone several times.

My itunes does not recognize my iphone 4s when i plug it in. I have tried many things please help. when i plug it in it is recognized as a camera.
When you plug it it, it should recognize it as an Apple IPHONE under devices. It will then bring the Camera/Connection wizard for the photos on the device. When you plug into different USB, it should bring the hardware wizard and tell you what its installing, what happens?
Under Device Manager, under Imaging Devices it will show up as Apple IPHONE. Is this being shown in your computer? -
ITunes not recognizing my ATV after a Windows update
Sorry to start a new thread here, but my ATV is all of a sudden not appearing in my iTunes devices list. The only thing that has happened from last night, when it was working and syncing just fine, and right now is that my computer restarted after an automatic Windows update overnight. The following updates were installed:
- MS Office Compatibility Service Pack 2
- Update for Windows Vista (KB968389)
- 2007 MS Office Suite Service Pack 2
- MS .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack1 and .NET Framwork 3.5 Family Update
and
- Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.63.1684.0)
I have made no changes to settings or anything, so perhaps something was changed in the course of one of these updates. I have already tried some of the basic things, including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and restarting the ATV, to no avail. iTunes and ATV both have been running in most current versions with no problems until now. I am hesitant to do a factory restore on the ATV, as I have done this once before and it resulted in my ATV being nothing more than an expensive brick...until my ATV magically appeared in iTunes when I purchased a new computer. How do I get my apps back on my iphone after the new update.
I can't get my apps from Itunes back on my phone. How do I get them back?
No I do not have multiple pages. There are only two pages, and the second one only has two icons on it. My apps are only in the store, and I want them on the home screen.

Version 11.1.5.5 of iTunes was just released today. If you update to that, does that help with the recognition troubles?

After the new update my ipad4 will not do a full recharge even when turned off overnight and the battery goes flat it 2 hours it is driving me crazy as I had to stop all apps but still not helping but my iPhone 5 is great no troubles at all HELP
Do you place the ipod in the dock during the night? I did this once and the other day the battery was almost empty because it kept on playing after it rested in the dock.

I updated my iPhone with the new update..and then it turned off...instead of turning back on it tells me to plug it into iTunes..and when I do iTunes tells me that my phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored..is there anything I can do without restoring it?
Same thing happened here ~ tech guy at a local authorized Apple repair store said it had something to do with improper backup from which the restore would be made. Still have a phone that asks to be connected to Itunes but won't do anything else . . . frustrated.

After the new update the FFox is now 11.0. But it's really SLOW always CRASHES and most of the time is NOT RESPONDING. I have to go to CHROME it is working perfectly.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].

After the new update of the latest iOS, I noticed a yellowish color on the sides of my iPhone 5 screen (Top,Down,Left,Right). Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank You.
It is highly unlikely that any iOS update could cause this.
Try a restore as new, if the problem persists, take the device to Apple for evaluation.
