ITunes Not Responding and Ipod not Updating

Everytime I connect my Ipod to the usb, it shows up on itunes and as a drive. But when usually the ipod should be updating, it brings up a window saying itunes isn't responding, giving me options to send the error report or not, and then no matter which i choose, itunes closes and ipod does not update. Even if I reopen itunes, the difficulty happens again. Please help. I have updated my ipod with the latest updater and reinstalled iTunes.
THANKS

This may help -- not sure you've got the exact problem I had, but worth a try:

Move cursor onto video.  Right click.  Click Settings,  Click the "never ask again" box. Then click Close.  That will work.
For some reason, that always worked for me, but in the last two days, it does not work, and it seems to freeze on the
video.  See, if it works for you.

This is most likely a software conflict (or series of them) in windows.
First, make sure you have Service Pack 4. Second, make sure you are using the USB ports on the back of your machine, as often any ports on the front are low-powered and can cause interface problems. Third, make sure your iPod is NOT connected when you boot up your machine. Fourth, make sure the username you are working under on your computer has the necessary permissions to run programs, download, install updates, restore, etc.
Then make sure that all of your hardware drivers are up to date; USB, sound card and firewall drivers are probably most important here. Also, make sure you have uninstalled any older versions of iTunes that may still be on your system, in your registry. You will also probably want to clean up any background programs that might be conflicting, such as AVG or other anti-virus/spyware monitoring programs. Step by step instructions for all this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Also, check both of these out
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42963

You may also want to try a disk defragmenter, disc scan (accessed Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> system tools), virus and spyware scan.

  • Please Help, My Finder not Responding and can not open after upgrade OS X Maverick!!!

    Hello guy,
I ask this for help, yesterday i upgrade the OS X Maverick, after finish all the the installation,
now my finder not responding even i try to relaunch many times, or can say that can't open Finder right now.
So what can i do? can anyone tell me here?

If that doesn't fix it try starting in Safe Mode and see if the problem still occurs?
    Restart holding the "shift" key.
(Expect it to take longer to start this way because it runs a directory check first.)
If this works look in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login items and delete any third party login items (-), you can always add them back with the (+). Don’t just “hide” them by checkmark.

  • When trying to open Firefox it trys to connect to restore the prevoius session (not responding) and will not start. I uninstalled then reinstalled and it is still stuck. I have to X the box and use the popup to close the noresponsive program

Firefox will not start. When I try to open it it gets stuck trying to restore the previous session. It shows "connecting" and the little round working cursor just spins. The program says (not responding) in the top. Please help me fix this, thanks

Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • EncoderServer (Not Responding) and ThumbnailServer (Not Responding)

When I open up iDVD '08 and start a new project, or contiue on an older one, iDVD gets very sluggish. When open up Activity Monitor to see if there is a problem, EncoderServer and ThumbnailServer are not responding. I go to my other Mac to see if there is the same problem, and there is not. I do not know what is wrong, but if someone has the same problem, or if someone knows how to fix this please reply. I need help!
    -Thanks

Well, it sounds like we're going to have to go a bit further. You should re-install iDVD '08. I don't know how this will affect your current project. My guess is that you'll be able to open it and make some adjustments.
I read here recently that someone implied they could just run the (Custom) installer for iDVD '08 and it would re-install. That's news to me. This is more like what I would expect is needed:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=5088205#5088205
Another person said all they did was go to HD/Library/Receipts/ and remove iDVD.pkg and then Custom install iDVD.

  • Two Problems: iTunes 7 Installation and Ipod Software Update 1.2

    1. The first problem is the installation process. After executing the installation file, the process simply freezes at "Registering Modules". Here's a screenshot(courtesy of allanpat): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/allanpat/itunes_freeze.gif
After numerous uninstallations and reinstallations...same problem occurs. However, i decided to press "Ctrlaltdelete" one time when the freeze occured and I ended the installation process at the freeze. Strangely, I found that most of itunes installed. So I tried opening itunes. A startup error pops up: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n82/p0llux/error2.gif
After pressing "OK", itunes then starts up normally and runs normally. o.O Then i plugged in my 30gb video ipod, which brings us to my second problem.
    2. I'm told to download and install the Ipod software 1.2, which i did. When it attempted to install this error pops up: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n82/p0llux/error.gif
Although iTunes runs fine...i want to be rid of Startup error and get the ipod update to work. i've never had this many problems with iTunes before. what's going on?
    Solutions, anyone?

Same problem here. It may have to do with conflicting software that we have running at start up. Now I'm not sure whether it is, but I'm willing to try anything to update my iPod with the new songs I downloaded.

  • Firefox is not responding and will not connect beyond start page. It will not close properly or restart. Is there a solution to this problem?

2 days ago, firefox just stopped responding. When I open, the start up screen shows but navigating to any other web pages is not possible. All I see is "connecting" and it just spins. No warnings or time outs. I thought it was an issue with my firewall so I went in and manually added firefox to the list of "allowed". That didn't help. I removed all apps, extensions and themes then tried to reset.. that didn't help because firefox wont restart it just hangs and I have to use task manager to end the process. I have tried a forced uninstall then reinstall.. nothing. At this point nothing seems to work. Maybe there is a simple solution I'm just not seeing. For now, it is uninstalled but I really would like to know if there is a way to fix it because firefox is my favorite browser. I'm not finding any maleware or viruses on my computer and other browsers are working just fine.

Great to hear. Please flag your last post as '''Solved Problem''' so
that others will know what to do.

  • I am unable to open my aperture 3 application on my macbook pro.  I access my aperture library on a 2tb external hard drive.  The aperture application is not responding and will not even bounce in the dock.

I use aperature 3. For the past 2 days, I have been unable to open the aperature application.  The icon does not even bounce in the dock.  I keep my aperature library on a 2 tb external hard drive.  I have never had this problem.  Any thoughts?  Thanks

For the past 2 days, I have been unable to open the aperature application.
What happened directly before this started? Have you updated software, installed something new, imported new images? Run any applications to clean the mac?
And what is your Aperture version and MacOS X version? Is your profile signature still current (MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), i just upgraded to lion)?
Have you checked, if Aperture is still installed in your Applications folder? Does it start, if you click it directly in Applications and not from the Dock?  Does Aperture start, if you click it while holding down the ⌥-key and select a different aperture library not on your 2 TB drive?

  • IMAC running slow- not responding- and would not accept my administrator password.

I have a iMAC Intel with 3.06 GHz. i have had it for about 4-5 years. In the last year or so it has been running slowly, and recently i had to fix a printing issue, so i entered the administrator password, and it said it was incorrect. I know it was correct, it was the same one I have used for 5 years! So in order to fix the password problem, I had to re- create a fake administrator and password. My husband and I are getting very frustrated, and sometime s the thing wont even open up a page, it just freezes, or if it does open, the little rainbow circle comes on like its thinking, and goes really slowly. Help!!

This will give you all of the info about your iMac's hard drive.
Your iMac model is a late 2009 21.5 inch screen iMac.
It can take a total of 16 GBs of RAM.
Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
