Itunes not responding when trying to sync

ok problem number three in a week, again apologies for my vast lack of knowledge with iphone.
when i try to sync my phone to itunes it starts syncing then just stops working.
have already deleted and reinstalled itunes this week
help????

extra info, the sync started there for about 10 seconds and then stopped and has managed to delete my books... please help!!! was one chapter from the end of a book and now its gone!!!!

ITunes 11.3.1 not responding when trying to sync first generation iPod touch

I just updated my iTunes to 11.3.1 and now I cannot sync my first generation iPod touch. It gets to step 4 of 4 (syncing music) and on the first song iTunes stops responding. I have a Mac.
Please can someone help me on how i can get my iPod to sync as normal?

Update: after disconnecting and reconnecting iPad I got that working

Hello I have been having a number of issues with itunes not working. When I try to sync my ipad or iphone 4 itunes locks up does not see my devices connected I have to reboot 5 times before I can get them to be seen in itunes. Also when I am able to get itunes to see my ipad it will lock up at backing up ipad. I have removed everything apple and reinstalled and same issue. I am running windows vista 64 bit I don't remember having this problem until the new itunes came out and after I got my iphone 4. Any one have any ideas on how to fix this.

ITunes "not responding" after trying to sync anything to my iPod Photo

I have tried not using my dock, switching between USB and firewire, and verified that iTunes is not sucking up strange amounts of CPU time or memory. It just becomes non-responsive and the only solution is to force quit the application. iTunes functions "normally" if I put syncing to manual and DON'T TRY TO SYNC. As soon as I do it goes unresponsive again. I already wiped out my iPod thinking the problem was with my iPod and now my iPod is empty with no way for me to download my library back onto it. This problem occurred the first time I tried to use iTunes at all after 7.0.2.

I was having problems with synching when iTunes would check for new episodes for my podcast subscriptions (which I had set to check every hour) immediately after I downloaded version 7.0.2. I tried everything, even going back to version 7.0.1 but to no avail. Each time I'd open iTunes I'd have to quickly go to the preferences and change it to "manual" before it would start checking for updates on the podcasts. If I didn't get there fast enough, I'd force quit and open it again. I finally saved all my podcasts from my iTunes Music Library in a folder on my desktop then went back and deleted them all and resubscribed. I reset the preferences to "check every hour" and it solved the problem. So, I'm assuming that there was some problem with one or more of the podcasts and deleting and resubscribing reset whatever it was which fixed the problem. Not sure if this will work for you but hope it does.

Itunes Not Responding when trying to eject Nano

Hello. It's my first time to post here. And that's because I've never had any problems before, but that's not the case anymore.
I recently upgraded itunes to 7.4.3.1. itunes works just fine until I try to add or remove songs or podcasts on my Nano. When I try to do this, it looks as if I can upload or remove songs, yet when I push the eject button to remove the nano, itunes freezes. I must right click on itunes in the taskbar and the not responding window opens and I must shut down itunes. I've left the ipod connected for an hour or more to see if that would help before trying to remove it, but that didn't not help.

I have the same problem. Itunes temporarily hangs when I do almost any activity. Then after several seconds of no apparent activity (and Not Responding in the Task manager), it wakes up.
The problem seems to be tied to Quick Time. Quick Time starts OK but has trouble and fits playing videos. I read in another post about uninstalling Quick Time then installing the stand alone version. Would that be appropriate for this problem?
In the previous version of Itunes and/or Quick Time I had no problems, everythign worked smoothly Thanks for any suggestions.

itunes says it is not authorized when trying sync, but after authorizing it does it again so I can not sync my phone.
