Itunes not showing I have music on my iPod Touch 5th Gen.

Earlier I plugged my iPod into my computer and an error message occurred saying itunes couldn't read my iPod so I tried to find a solution online and found this site I went through the steps and plugged my ipod in. Now my itunes is saying there is no music yet the status bar still says there is music/files. I really don'y know what to do or where to start.
Edit: I also tried to back up my music with Share Pod to be safe and it is also saying my ipod is empty. My music still works on my iPod it still plays.

- Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and see if you have a backup. If you have one restore from that backup
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
Also, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and backup and see if yoo have an iCloud backup. If so then restore from that backup
iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud
- Last, try backing up and then restore from backup if you could make one

ITunes not showing songs that are on the iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation.
I use iTunes 11.0.
I usually connect my iPod Touch to iTunes and play songs from there because I do not put songs in my itunes library.
I was doing this as usual and today when I connected my iPod Touch to iTunes, songs did not show up on the music tab of "On This iPod".
Just the previous day, I opened iTunes and there were all my songs.
Today, iTunes does not show any of my downloaded songs that were not bought from the iTunes Store.
The iTunes Capacity Bar shows that I have songs on my iPod Touch.
But when clicking on the iPod and going under the music tab in "On This iPod", there is no music other than a few songs, which were purchased from the iTunes Store itself.
I also tried third party software just today to check if I can get the songs off my iPod.
I tried using SharePod and it did not detect any songs, not even the purchased songs from iTunes.
There are songs on the iPod Touch only. I can play all the songs from the iPod Touch just fine.
They are simply just not showing up on iTunes.
How do I get iTunes to show the songs on my iPod Touch? The capacity bar says there are songs.
I tried SharePod a few times long before this happened, and it showed the songs on the iPod Touch.
I don't understand why all of a sudden the songs all disappeared from iTunes itself only.
(I would say this is similar to other issues where iTunes DOES show songs while the iPod itself DOES NOT. Mine is the opposite.)

I tried backing up the iPod Touch.
Now all the songs on the iPod Touch (except for the purchased ones) are turned to blank names and are skipped.
There is no name for each song or artwork, they all are called 'unknown'.
Only the purchased songs are left unharmed. Everything else is corrupted now.

I have a song on iTunes on my pc and I have my music on my IPod touch 5th gen. Can I transfer my songs from my ipod to my pc or can I put my songs from my ipod on icloud if that is even possible?

I Decide that I wanted to move my music from my iPod touch to iTunes on my pc but I can't there is no option for that only sync which says it will erase all my songs videos etc. so am I stuck like this or is there a way that I can move my music to iTunes

If you bought the songs in iTunes, connect to your PC, open iTunes, right click on your iPod in the device list and choose "transfer purchases".

I got it in the mail a week ago, and updated it to iOS 7 before I started syncing anything. And I updated iTunes to 11. It syncs all of my apps problem free. And it syncs my photos. But the music is not transfering. My iPod touch 4th gen is working just fine. So what do I have to do to my new iPod to make it work?

You may want to try setting up syncing in iTunes again by following the steps in the article below. If music doesn't seem to be syncing, try un-checking and then re-checking the "Sync music" checkbox in iTunes.

When I am listening to music on my iPod Touch 5th gen and it is locked I try to double click the home button to bring up the music controls, but it does not work. How can I fix this?

So, I locked my iPod while listening to music, then pressed to home button to turn it back on, then I pressed it again twice to bring up the music controls so I could pause the song. The music controls came up, but they didn't control the song I was listening to, also the album artwork wasn't showing. How can I fix this?

I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10sec. or until Apple logo appears (Nothing will be lost, this is just a "Hard Reset")

Why wont some itunes album art load up on the NEW ipod Touch, 5th Gen?

Having an issue where some artwork will load, while others wont onto my new 5th Gen ipod Touch. I've tried deleting and then reloading the music onto the device, but it wont reconize the artwork. Anyone else having this issue or have a viable solution?

Sounds like apps purchased from those accounts got synced to the iPod and it is asking to log into that account to update them.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
What do yo see if yo go to the Updates Section of the App Store app?

Why is Apple not offering AppleCare Plus on the new iPod Touch 5th Gen?

I don't understand why Apple would offer damage protection on iPhone and iPad, but not on iPod touches? Unless Apple offers a replacement model for $149 ($99 plus $49 deductable), then I don't see the point. However, I still think it makes the purchase decision a lot easier on parents knowing that a $300 or $400 device can be protected in case of accidental damage.

That question would be more appropriate for Apple support. All of here are only end users like yourself and can only speculate as to why it's not being offered for the 5G iPod Touch. However, speculation of Apple products and such are prohibitied on these forums. Sorry.

How can I play music from my ipod Touch (5th gen.) on my car radio?

Hi--I used to use a cassette adapter to play my iPod nano. Obviously it's an older car, a 2004 Toyota. Is there an adapter I can use to connect my new iPod to the car radio? Thanks.

If the car has an AUX IN you can use a cable between the iPOd's headphone jack and the AUX IN.
If the car has an FM radio yo can purchase a FM transmitter for the iPod. Some connect to headphone jack and some to the dock connector

    Have just bought an iPod Touch 5th Gen.
    When I sync with iTunes I get my podcasts without any problem but I do not get any of my music. It claims "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including ..., were not copied to the iPod Touch because they could not be found"
    I am using iTunes 10.7.0.21 and ipod touch is version 6.0.1.

Go onto iTunes on your computer and go to your music and right click them and delete them.
When your done, go to iTunes store --> purchased (it's on the side on the right) -> music and click on the cloud.
OR
On your iPod, do iTunes app -> More -> Purchased -> Music -> look for your artist and tap the cloud.

IPod Touch 5th Gen will not restore

I have a brand new IPod Touch 5th Gen and I Tunes will not let me restore. Am in an endless state of Recovery Mode. I have the latest version of ITunes installed and the IPod Touch worked perfectly for two weeks after I got it. Now when I try turning it on, all I see is a black screen and USB cord leading to the ITunes symbol. I checked in Diagnostics and it says no IPod is detected, yet my IPod shows below Devices in ITunes. I have tried 20 or so suggestions to fix the problem and nothing works, including holding down Sleep button (turn on) and Home button for many minutes. Is there any way I can get ITunes to recognize my new IPod in the proper way? Restoring process in ITunes just does not work. Thank you. I believe this Touch has the iOS 6.0.1.

When I connect my iPod to my Mac Book Pro laptop my music that I've transferred to my iPod and music playlist will appear in my iTunes my music will play with no problem. However, there seems to be a bug in iOS 8 or iTunes 12.1.1 that cause this problem and I have not seen a solution

If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?

The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. I have recently bought a new laptop and downloaded iTunes to it right away. I have not been able to connect my iPod touch 5th gen to iTunes at all since then. I have updated both the iPod and iTunes completely and both are up to date. I tried different iPods of the same generation and they haven't connected either. I have tried using different cables and all my usb ports. I tried resetting my iPod and re-installing iTunes to my computer. My iPod is showing up in my computer but not under devices in iTunes. Can anyone help?
