  • Having troubled with already purchased ringtones not appearing in the ringtone file of itunes not able to sync into iphone4 after installing ios5

the tones show in the music library and also in the purchased section, but in the listing of tones there is nothing.  After sync with the Iphone 4 they do not appear.  So to look I selected on selected tones and it only shows 1 of 15.  How can I fixed this?  either have the ringtones back into "image of a bell" tones so they can appear on the iphone as ringtones and I can select them .

    Anyone?

  • My Ipod touch will not synch all songs in my library - on my windows 8 laptop. Doesn't matter if the songs are checked or not - only some songs will synch to the IPOD. I have multiple devices and two accounts.

My IPOD touch will not synch all songs in my library. Library is on a windows 8 laptop. Checking the songs does not matter. I have multiple devices (ipod, IPhone 4 and 5, IPad 2) and two ITunes accounts.

All songs play on the laptop windows 8. The second Ipod touch we have - all songs synch to it and play.
But the first Ipod touch we bought - only half (or so) of the songs synch. So I assume there is an issue with the newer Ipod touch. The songs not synching are songs I added to the library from CD's.

  • With using any version of iTunes, whenever I import songs into my library using the "add to library" function, iTunes adds those songs in songs' alphabetical order. This is pretty annoying since it does not preserve the logical track number or album.

With using any version of iTunes, whenever I import songs into my library using the "add to library" function, iTunes adds those songs in songs' alphabetical order. This is pretty annoying since it does not preserve the logical track number or even the album sort order (for example when adding 2 albums stored in a unique folder). Anyone has any ideas ? Been stumped for a while....!!!

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music'  then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

  • How do I stop itunes from automatically adding songs into my itunes library?

I want to disable itunes from automatically adding songs into my library.  Every time I sync up my ipod I'm finding miscellaneous debris on it that itunes keeps importing into it.  Theres got to be a way to disable this function but I can't seem to find it in the preferences.   I'm using a 2011 macbook pro with os x 10.6.7.

I figured out how to change itunes as my default player.  I did this by selecting a new audio file and hitting cmd and I to get info, then I selected the "open with" category.  Inside "open with" theres an option to open the file with quick time, underneath that is the "change all" option.  select that and you will solve this problem if this is a nuisance to anyone else.

Can't be done with iTunes.  You can do it with the app PhotoSync.  It will transfer videos back to camera roll.

  • Songs in iTunes not synching

I have multiple songs in iTunes that are not synching into my new iPod Nano. It is not a capacity issue and appears to only be .m4a files(and yes they are checked to synch). Furthermore, it seems to affect those songs where I edited the name, artist, or other attribute(but it doesn't appear to affect all of the .m4a's I edited). As you can imagine, those that I edited are the ones I most want to listen to - so this is very frustrating. Thanks for your help!

Until today, all of my music was on both my Mac and iPad 2.  I too just sync'd my iPad 2 with my Mac.  Originally, none of the music from the Mac showed up on iPad.  Tried again, and now some albums are showing up, but only a few.  Have plenty of capacity/space.  Also noticed the "iPod" icon is now a "Music" icon on the iPad.  Any ideas?
Sounds like you just updated your IOS.  Check the iTunes settings and confirm that nothing was changed:

  • My ipad will not sync checked songs, playlists, genres, from itunes.

I have tried to sync updated checked songs, playlists, and genres, from my itunes to ipad without success.  I have tried over wifi and usb cable.  Neither will work.  What are the possible solutions?  Is this an itunes or ipad problem?

I don't know how long I had this problem, but I noticed it after recent upgrades in IOS and iTunes. None of the suggestions I found online, including the ones attached to this thread, worked until I saw something about moving your iTunes Media folder to a new location on your computer. This article mentioned that older versions of iTunes used a folder called iTunes Music. I discovered that I had an iTunes Music folder in my music library that had my stuff in it as well as an iTunes Media folder that had none of it. Before following the instructions in the article--written in AppleSpeak which I do not--I thought, I wonder if I can play my music through iTunes on my PC? I clicked on a song and got a message that iTunes didn't find it but would I like iTunes to look for this on my computer? YES! And then iTunes offered to find other similar files and I said YES again. This found all my music but one album. When I clicked on a song from that, the process repeated and all my music is now playable in iTunes on my computer and has synced to my iPad Air. During the process iTunes also asked me for my Audible.com username and password and attempted to bring over my Audible books. (This was not entirely successful since I cancelled my Audible.com account when I stopped doing a lot of road travel. But the titles of books I purchased all appear to be there even if not the complete books.) BTW, iTunes does not seem to have moved my music and Audible.com books out of iTunes Music. So I will now see if there is an easy way to consolidate into the iTunes Media folder without breaking anything to avoid problems in the future.

  • Only synching checked songs in ITunes

I only want to load checked songs in my ITunes library to my IPod. Is this possible with 7.0.
      Windows XP

Yes. Put a check mark in the box labeled sync only checked files. This is found on the summary tab while iPod is plugged in

  • ITunes keeps synching extra songs when none are selected.

I have recently decided to redo the way I sync my music to my iPhone because I kept getting duplicate songs and playlists wouldn't sync correctly (and I don't think it's worth it to get iTunes Match). I cleared all of the music off of my iPhone 6 manually to start from scratch, and checked in my phone's settings and even that said 0 songs. I went to sync my phone in iTunes and deselected all albums, songs, playlists and even removed all "manually added songs" and even unchecked sync music so that nothing is set to sync from anywhere (as far as I can tell). Even after this, every time I hit apply, iTunes syncs 67 songs to my phone. The songs are not all the same artist or albums and I can't find anywhere they might come from. I am running Yosemite 10.10 and iOS 8.1. Since my problem is with duplicate songs on my phone I would like to get this resolved before I continue with reworking my library. Any help is appreciated.

I also have the same problem but with two ipods ( one Shuffle 3g 2gig and one nano 6g 8gig) and so i had the shuffle for about a year and the nano i got last week so i restored the shuffle and i put both ipods on sync checked songs only because i gave the shuffle to my younger sister and she only wanted a few songs on her ipod and i did not want her songs on my ipod so i went on the apple support website and saw how to do that and what i tried was to make one playlist and put my sisters songs on that playlist and only check off that playlist to sync the shuffle. when i synced my nano i unchecked all of my sisters songs, the playlist and the albums they were in. But, when i looked at the songs on my ipod all of her songs were on my nano! I think why the songs are still on my nano is because the songs are still in the same genre as some of my songs so my solution would be to take ALL of the songs you do not want on your ipod and simply give them a genre name like itunes only and try that.
Bye hope this helped and sorry for my post being so long

  • Not all checked songs are syncing to my iPhone (no error messages)

I posted this question a month ago and didn't receive any replies. I'm hoping somebody stumbles upon it with a suggestion. Thanks!
My iTunes library shows 1743 songs, but ony 613 songs get synced to my iPhone. I'm using iTunes 8.1.1.10, iPhone 2.2.1, and Vista 64 Business.
I do have iTunes set to only sync checked songs, but less than 5% are checked (and I can see many checked songs in the iTunes music library that aren't on my phone). If I sync all, 18 more songs (a tiny amount) are added. No error messages are displayed after syncing, there aren't any warning symbols next to the songs in iTunes, I can play the "missing" songs fine from within iTunes, I've consolidated the music library (and I let iTunes keep the music folders organized), I do not have the "manually manage music" setting checked, and only a handful of songs were puchased from the Apple Store.
This has been going on since moving my music and phone to this new computer a few months ago.
    I'm stumped. Ideas? Thanks!

Well Chris and Katrina, that seems to have fixed it. Thank you.
Actually, it seems as if it was selecting the "All songs and playlists" radio button that did the trick. I thought (and it now appears incorrectly), that the radio button controlled which playlists were copied rather than which music was copied. I have a bunch of playlists that were created by a music cleaner that I didn't want on my phone (I don't want the playlists but I do want the music), but I'm happy to see 1,300 more songs being copied to the phone. Thanks.
PS (Chris), my comment that only 5% were checked was a typo; only 5% were unchecked. And excuse the claim as to the date of my previous post. Time flies staring at this screen!

  • ITunes not finding some songs

    Hi...
I just got a new Macbook, and I moved all of my songs from my PC via my iPod to the Macbook. However, many of my songs are not being found by iTunes. There is an exclamation mark next to those songs. Many of them were purchased from iTunes, and some were imported from my own CDs.
Any ideas on how to "find" these files? Do I need to burn CDs of them and import them that way? Seems like a waste of CDs to me.
    Many thanks!!!

I finally got most of my songs into my new Macbook's iTunes. I couldn't get all of them because my hard drive was full...probably from my trying to do this too many times. I'm assuming that I had several copies of my iTunes folder on the desktop. I'll get the rest of the songs on there at some point.
Oh, and iTunes is recognizing all of my music now.
    Many thanks!!

  • ITunes plays only checked songs

How can I have my itunes play ALL my music collection songs? not just the checked ones? but still sync only the checked ones with my ipod.

There is no way to do that. You can play an unchecked song by double-clicking it, but thereafter iTunes will proceed to play just checked songs.
The best way to manage the music on your iPod is to sync selected playlists. That way you can keep all of your music checked for iTunes yet have a smaller subset on your iPod.

  • Changes in itunes not being changed on my iphone4s

Changes made on the iphone control feature in itunes, say add a song to a playlist or add an artist, are not being changed on the phone. Any ideas? thanks.

    Hello there, imasummergirl.
Great job, troubleshooting your issue so far. You may want to try manually updating your iTunes Match using the steps found in this article to see if that helps correct your issue:
How to troubleshoot iTunes Match - Apple Support
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. You can download the latest version for free.
    Launch iTunes on your computer.
From the iTunes menu, choose Advanced > Get Album Artwork.
Once iTunes has completed processing the album artwork, you'll need to update iTunes Match.
From the iTunes menu, choose Store > Update iTunes Match.
In your instance you can skip steps 3 & 4, as your issue doesn't involve Album Artwork.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • ITunes not adding all songs in an album?

    Hi all,
i've noticed i've added a new album of music to my itunes, however when I sync this to my iPhone 5 not all the songs are transferred over? This has happened more than once.
I have my music syncing set to push over all the songs, however it pushes over only a few (the current one had 18 songs and I got 6 synced over complete with the album art).
    Any ideas?

I have experienced the same thing for months now and was in false belief that there was something wrong with my songs. iTunes should go through all songs and play them randomly. There is absolutely no excuse for this not to work properly. Repeat option is completely separated. It's purpose is to play songs indefinitely. It shouldn't be necessary to turn repeat on for iTunes to play all songs while shuffle is on.
I will just never be able to comprehend how is it possible for people who make this software for years not to see this problem while they test the application (if they do that at all) and fix it. This is just ridiculous and pure nonsense.
