Itunes not syncing ipod in Windows 7

Recently upgraded to windows 7 and all was well until i opened up my itunes. I had added a few albums to my collection before i upgraded, and thought id sync them to my ipod. Itunes syncs around 100 songs and then freezes and the only way to unfreeze it, is to disconnect my ipod without ejecting it. While itunes is frooze, my ipod makes a lot of funny noises :\ This has only happend since i upgraded (starting to wish i never now). I've tried re-formatting my ipod, restoring it, re-installed the latest itunes and all to no avail. I've done my research and have even tried deleteing the song that itunes freezes on syncing, but it seems never ending.
Any help would be much appreciated, thx Aston

Any help? im desperate

  • ITunes not recognizing iPod after windows patch

iTunes suddenly won't recognize my iPod Nano Chromatic. Today Windows Update installed the following patches: KB960715 and KB961260. I suspect that has something to do with it. If it matters my computer is a Dell Dimension 2400 desktop running XP Home.
Anyone have a clue how to fix this?

Another new development. I closed iTunes, connected my USB cable to a different USB port (but didn't connect the iPod yet). I then restarted iPod. I turned off autosync in iTunes. Then I connected my iPod. I get the following error:
"The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software."
Should I listen to the instructions and re-install iTunes? Are there instructions on how to do that somewhere? I'm wondering if I should uninstall and then re-install or just install over the top. Also, I guess I should back up my iTunes files before re-installing.

  • Itunes not recognizing ipod classic, windows does, help

I have an ipod classic that has not had new music installed on it for over a year. I have vista 64, vista recongnizes it itunes does not. I checked connection to itunes with my sons itouch and it works fine. I have done everything i can think of through apple support except buy support including uninstalling itunes, quicktime, etc.. and reinstalling, did not work. I installed itunes on a clean version of xp on another computer, with the same results. I have put ipod in disk mode, itunes still does not recognize it. what else is there to do? format ipod? will this help?
Thank You in advance, grandpa will be very please to have new music to listen to.

Hmmm. If no iTunes is recognising it, it might be worth trying a disk check on the iPod itself. Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors:
[Check your hard disk for errors|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-fo r-errors]
Does the disk check find/repair any damage? If so, can you get (at least) enough recognition to do a restore in iTunes?

  • ITunes not Syncing Lossless files to iPod?

Itunes not syncing Apple Lossless files to iPod?
I had a couple FLAC encoded CD's, and i recoded them into Apple Lossless using dBpoweramp.
These Apple Lossless files load perfectly into iTunes (Playable)
But no matter what I do, I can't get iTunes to put the files onto my iPod. But from what I've seen, my iPod should support these files! (I tagged all the lossless files with a unique Artist name, and told iTunes to only sync that Artist. Even then it wouldn't sync.)
Ipod Classic 6th gen 120 gb, Software version 2.0.1
    iTunes version 9.0.1.8
    Using Windows 7 RC 64-bit
How do I get this to work?

Same problem here, same application versions. I'm trying to get them to sync to an iPhone but it doesn't actually sycnc. They play without issue in iTunes. I converted them from flac to Apple lossless using dbpoweramp.
    Any suggestions would be helpfull

My Ipod touch does not sync with my Windows 8.1 I cloud calendar?  it syncs from windows computer to itouch but not vice versa

Make sure you are entering the events on your iPod in the iCloud calendar and not something else such as On My iPod.  Check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the Calendars section) to be sure you have selected an iCloud calendar as your default.

  • ITunes not syncing photos to iPad

    Hi,
Following an iTunes upgrade I was left with iTunes not working on my Windows PC.  Following help from another member, I removed all the Apple apps from my PC, deleted the recommended directories and reinstalled iTunes.  The software is now working, but I'm having problems syncing my photos to my iPad.
When I tried to sync, the backup woudl work and apps appeared to be synced, but when it got to the photos it seemed to hang.  I researched some similar issues on this forum which said to delete the iPod Photo Cache, so did that.
When I next performed a sync with my iPad, all my albums were deleted from Photos on my iPad, although I think the photos themselves may still be on there, juding by the amount of space assigned to Photos (as shown in iTunes).
Now when I sync my iPad with my Windows PC it doesn't take long to sync the photos, but I can still see no photos or albums.
My Photo Stream is still updating when photos are taken on other devices.
How can I get my photos to reappear on the iPad?

    that didnt work unfortunately.
I have a new hunch however - I think it may be photos from my new camera that its not syncing. Im not sure why this may be though?!
My new one is a Nikon D5100 and the old one was a Nikon D50. I havent a clue why this may be. ( a few photos taken with the new camera ARE syncing accross though)
would anybody have any ideas why this may be?
    thanks again!

  • ITUnes not syncing video form iPhoto

    Hi,
Since iTunes 10.1 has been installed on my iMac (with IOS 4.2.1) videos from iPhoto do not sync anymore, despite the setting in iTunes 'include video' being selected.
    Anybody else experiences the same?
    Thanks!
    JP.

You may have figured it out by now. None of the resetting of the iPod or the rebuilding of the iPhoto library (command+option) or permission rebuilding works to solve a -208 error when the error refers to an iPhoto library sync with iTunes. Supposedly, this error occurs with corrupt AIFF files as well. This error will occur on different iPods which try to sync to the same iPhoto library. The iPhoto library is definitely corrupted. Mine was due to a sudden power loss.
NOTE: I do not "Copy files to iPhoto Library folder when adding to library" under Advanced iPhoto preferences, so that my photos don't have a chance of getting messed up (like error -208s). If you do, the steps below may be different for you. Always a good idea to back up your photos.
Here is how I fixed it. All the steps may not be necessary. Go to /pictures directory under your user (or wherever your iPhoto library is located), and rename the "iPhoto Library" or whatever you called it to something else, like "iPhoto Library 2". Open iPhoto, and it can't find the library, and asks if you want to find it or create a new one. Tell it to create a new one, and put at least a picture in the library. Sync with iPod, which should work without error and put the picture on your iPod. Close iTunes. Close iPhoto. Now, to save all your pictures (thumbnails) already in the iPhoto library, copy everything BUT "iPod Photo Cache" folder, which seems to be the culprit, from the "iPhoto Library 2" folder into the "iPhoto Library" folder. Open iPhoto, and all your pictures should now be in the library. Open iTunes and sync iPod, and all your pictures should sync out without error.

  • I can not sync ipod due to 6gb of 'other', how do I get rid of this?

I can not sync ipod due to 6gb of 'other', how do i get rid of this?

    Hello drumsdonkey,
Thanks for the question. The following article outlines issues with free space, capacity, and a large amount of "other" space. While it refers to iOS devices, most steps are applicable for your situation as well:
iOS: 'Not enough free space' alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1503
One symptom of this issue will be displayed in iTunes where the Capacity indicator for the iOS device will report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the device. To resolve this issue:
    - Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    - Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    - Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    - Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • ITunes not syncing selected playlists, choosing songs from all playlists

I have some smaller iPods that I use on random occasions. When I sync them, I choose the following options:
    Sync Music:
    Selected Playlists, artists, genres
    Music Videos - Not Checked
Automatically fill free space with songs - Checked
I have two playlists from which I wish a selection to be made, which exceeds the size of the iPod (they were designed for larger devices synced with this machine). When I attempt to Sync, I get a message saying that the iPod is too small, and would I like iTunes to automatically choose songs to sync. If I click no, the sync is canceled. If I click yes to have a subset of my two playlists automatically choosen, the ipod will sync, but then iTunes clears all of my selected playlists and starts syncing songs from all playlists.
This seems like a bug in iTunes to me, as it is not performing the requested options. Has anyone else experienced this, or know how to get it fixed? Or to get a bug report sent in to Apple? I have been going all over the place on their support page, and since this isn't an issue with the iPod, but with iTunes, I haven't been able to find a support avenue.

iTunes not syncing selected playlists, choosing songs from all playlists
You have it selected to *sync selected playlists* and those playlists are not syncing to the iPod?
however this seems to be very counter-intuitive behavior for iTunes
It can be kind of confusing.
I suggest it's not a bug in that it is acting as it's supposed to.
The option (Fill free space) could be made clearer. Perhaps if they added "with songs at random from the entire library" or somehow added an option to select what the free space will be filled with.)
    1) The fact that iTunes it is not obeying the selected options on the screen
    Not supposed to do that.
If the playlists all fit and there is free space, what would iTunes use to fill the free space if it only used selected items?
    2) iTunes is allowing users construct an unhonorable set of choices out of four options. If "Selected playlists, artists and genres" is not compatible with "Automatically fill free space," then that option should be grayed out.
    It is compatible.
If there is free space after your selections are added, what should iTunes use to fill the free space? It shouldn't fill the free space with stuff already on the iPod.
