ITunes not updating library on 2nd computer

I originally opened my iTunes account on a home computer, it contains about 500 songs or so. The computer is pretty old and it was taking a long time to download songs so I took my computer in and had them transfer my iTunes onto my laptop. I logged onto my laptop and my iTunes library does not show any songs in there. How do I get iTunes to download all of my purchases?

When you say "had them transfer my iTunes" I assume they transferred all your files to the new machine, so the songs files are probably there somewhere. Use Windows to look for them on the laptop (starting in Music or My Music). When you know where they are, you just need to add them to the iTunes library, for which you can use the command File > Add Folder to Library.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Acrobat will not accept installation on 2nd computer in full version but only trial or buy a new license

Acrobat 9 Pro. will not accept installation on 2nd computer in full version but only trial or buy a new license; comuter crashed with harddrive; could not deactivate; this is a new computer to replace the old, but now Acrobat refuses to accept it.

    Hey mjmselim,
Using a single user license, you can activate Acrobat on maximum two computers.
You need to first deactivate Acrobat from the first machine and then activate it on the second machine using the same serial number.
Please let me know have you been trying to install Acrobat and error message prompts on your screen.
    Hope to get your response.

  • *** is up with itunes not updating my info??

*** is up with itunes not updating my info. the problem I am still having after 3 weeks is I can not update my credit card/debit card info because itunes says my billing information does not match my bank records. I know this is lunacy because the info I put in is completely correct, i even contacted my bank 3 times to make sure they had my info correct. so obviously something is completely ******** with itunes/iphone in which I cant update my info. **** I cant even download a free app, because it says my info has changed, and I need to change it. when i do, it gives me that stupid message about my info not matching my bank records. Something needs to be done asap.

does itunes support ever respond to these forums??
Since these are user-to-user forums, no they don't.

  • Why will the latest iTunes not update onto my computer. It makes Syncing my iPhone 3GS impossible...

I have repeatedly attempted to update my phone over the last year, and iTunes on my computer will not allow it. I keep recieving a prompt that my iPhone is not accessible due to my computer not having the latest iTunes. I then do as I am prompted and go to itunes.com to upgrade the software. I then restart my computer and the new software doesn't take hold. Granted, I have a PC with Vista on it still. Can anyone help me? I am trying to save my Apps and music, and also hold out until the next iPhone after the 4S comes out.

I have the same problem even before updating to IOS 6.1

  • ITunes not updating, won't notice iPhone 5.

I just got a new iPhone 5, but my iTunes is still version 10.4.1.10, and it won't recognise it (while Windows will see it as a camera).
When running Apple Software Update, both Quicktime and iTunes' updates fail. When reinstalling iTunes off the Apple website, it fails (error code 2203, I believe, but I'm the administrator of the computer and have all rights, which seemed to be other people's problem). (Also, I'm afraid to uninstall and reinstall because I fear I'll never be able to get iTunes back again.) I've tried making it so only iTunes and Quicktime open when I restart my computer. I've tried stopping and restarting Apple Mobile Device. I've tried stopping and restarting all Apple applications on my computer (including Apple Mobile Device, Bonjour, iTunes, and Quicktime.)
I've spent days looking this up and trying to troubleshoot it from other peoples' discussions and questions, and nothing has worked.
How can I fix this and get iTunes 11 so it will at last notice my iPhone 5?
    EDIT:
Also when trying to update within iTunes itself, it says it cannot connect to the iTunes server.
And I ran diagnostics on everything:
Network Connectivity: A secure link to the iTunes store failed. (Everything else was fine.)
Device Connectivity: Even when my iPhone is plugged in, the diagnostic says it does not detect it. (Everything else was fine.)
And I allowed iTunes past my firewall.

  • IPod will not update when plugged into computer?

Just recently my iPod with not update when I plug it into my computer. My iPod does not show up on my Mac or my iTunes. When I plug it in the screen shows the do not disconnect sign. I have tried to reset my iPod and checked for new updates, but they haven't worked. If anyone knows what to do that would be great.
    Thanks

Yes. Since I installed the new system software (10.4.6) update Sunday night, I cannot update any of my iPods except the iPod video. The iPods also do not show up on my desktop. The battery charges but that's all that happens.

  • ITunes not seeing music on new computer

I just copied my iTunes Music folder to a new computer. However the new iTunes that I downloaded on this pc is not seeing the music. I checked the path and it is pointed to the correct folder. If I go in and and do an Import the song will show up in the recently added playlist. Does anyone know if there is a quicker way to get these songs recognized? A mass import or maybe something else that I may have set wrong?
    Thanks in advance

When you moved iTunes to the new computer did you copy the whole iTunes folder or just the iTunes Music folder? If you only copied the music folder then you've left the library file behind and iTunes has created a new blank one. You'll get more information including the Folder/File structure in this article: What are the iTunes library files?
If you did copy the whole iTunes folder then you need to locate the original library file. Presuming you put everything in the default location, try holding down the Shift key in Windows when opening iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ (or C:\Username\Music\iTunes\ in Vista). Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file
If you can't locate the library (if you've left it behind and no longer have access to the old computer for example), you'll have to make a new one by going to File>Add Folder to Library and adding the music from the iTunes Music folder that you did move.

  • New iMac itunes not recognizing library on external drive

I'm trying to move my itunes media from my older powermac to my new imac. I kept my library on an external drive, so I thought it would be simple to just move that drive over to the new imac and create a path in the media folder location in itunes preferences to the library. I've done so, but the library is not registering in the new itunes. Obviously I'm doing something wrong here, and I haven't found anything that describes my exact scenario. All I'm doing is keeping the external drive on which the library and contents are stored and moving it from the old computer to the new.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Peter

Thanks Jim. I have tried what you have suggested, but it hasn't worked. iTunes isn't populating (for lack of a better word at the moment) with my music. I'm able to select the library and seemingly iTunes accepts the library, but I'm not able to access the media. I tried reconnecting the drive back to the old computer to make sure iTunes worked on it, and it worked fine. I'm stumped.

  • Cannot start itunes as 'Updating Library' come up and jams

Since i downloaded the most recent itunes update, when i have tried to get itunes working, it has opened up and a grey box with a blue loading bar has popped up, saying 'updating library'. It updates as normal, until it gets about 65% of the way through and then it jams and says itunes is not responding. I can't access itunes while it is updating, so there is nothing i can do about it. I have tried reinstalling and have tried downlading an older version and none work.
Anyone have any idea because im thoroughly stuck at the moment?

that's typically caused by a problem with a content file or files in your collection.
tracking down which files are causing the issue can be a pain. but the "Check for content files with issues" section from the following document may be of some assistance:

  • ITunes not updating iPod rated songs

I have used iTunes and iPods for several years. I always use automatic updating. Previously, any change to a song rating I made on my iPod would be reflected in my iTunes library after a sync. Since my most recent iTunes update (7.1.1), I have two problems. (1) iTunes does not update the ratings changes made on my iPod and (2) podcasts which I listen to on my iPod are not marked as "not new" in iTunes. It appears that Apple has screwed up something in the sync process in the newest iTunes version. Is anyone else having this problem?

Having exactly the same problem as your first issue. In the playlist of top-rated tunes they all appear. However my iTunes library has 460 relevant tunes, whereas the same playlist on the iPod has 100 fewer. They are greyed out and can't be changed and aren't played.

  • Itunes not updating my 2.2.1 software.  Message says I have the latest version

How do I get Itunes to update recognize that 2.2.1 is not the latest version and to update to the latest version?

The final version for the 3G is 4.2.1. It cannot be updated beyond that. To update even to that you must have the latest version of iTunes (10.3.1) You don't say what type of computer you have, but if it is a Mac you must have OS X Leopard (10.5.x) or higher to install the latest iTunes.

  • Apps in iTunes NOT updating

I have a large library of apps in itunes, not all of which are installed on my iPhone or iPad. When I open iTunes, and check my apps section, I have 204 apps that need updating. I have no problems updating apps on my mobile devices, but iTunes will not update the apps. I am prompted with the message "The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable, please try again later." This has been happening for quite sometime. I can still purchase apps, music, and other media through iTunes no problem, so clearly the store is available. All of my software is up to date, FYI. Any suggestions? Thanks

  • Transfering iTunes and music library to another computer

    Hello,
I just got a new computer and I want to transfer my iTunes and music library to it. I would normally just transfer the files to the new computer, install iTunes, and rebuild my library, but there are two things: 1) I don't want to lose my playlists and 2) I have purchased music from the iTunes Music Store and I'm not sure it will play if I do it like that.
I have a feeling it has to do with deauthorizing the old computer.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance.

Welcome, Fred, to the Apple Discussions!
Here's a post on transferring your Music Library from one computer to another:

You will definitely have to authorize your new computer. And if you won't be using the old one to play purchased songs any more, you should de-authorize it. Have a look at:

  • New Podcast for iTunes Not Updating in the iTunes Store

    Hello Apple Community,
My name is Sara Simms, I have recently started a new DJ podcast series called Flight. My new episode has not updated yet in the iTunes store (its been over three days since I uploaded it)
My podcast episodes are hosted here:
    http://sarasimms.blogspot.ca
    My Feedburner URL is:
    feed://feeds.feedburner.com/sarasimmsflightofficialpodcast
I also uploaded new artwork via Feedburner, in the 'Podcast' section of iTunes I see the artwork has updated.
However, in the iTunes store itself, the new artwork is not displayed. Here is the link to my iTunes podcast:
    http://bit.ly/VM8tcF
I just pinged Feedburner, hopefully this helps to update everything.
Could anyone else please let me know if there's anything else I should check/change to make sure my podcast episodes are updating?
    Thank you in advance!
    Best wishes,
    Sara Simms

    Hello Sai,
You can try below and let me know the result.
I believe you must be using cycle counting method. Make sure the person name of inventory document creator and the person who actually count the document is same. If so then last counting date will be correctly updated. I would advice you to simulate below scenario.
Create the PI document and assign the name of person. And perform the actual counting by another person by exactly same method for which you were getting an error. Then observe the results.
If above solution fails to find out the cause then consult SAP.
Cheer up!! and all the best!!!
