Itunes not working and unable to re-install

Please help. I have owned my Nano for three days and have lost access to itunes. Story so far… Day 1 set up disk installed and itunes working great. Upgraded software online and problems started and unable to open itunes.
Action taken:
1.Tried to re-install original software from disk but get error –itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing.
2. QuickTime also failed to initiate with error 2095 – message make sure QTime properly installed.
3. Removed both itunes and Qtime through control panel and downloaded and used Windows installer clean up to confirm removal (files seemed to remain on computer?)
4. Installed stand alone Qtime which seems ok
5. Downloaded stand alone itunes but could not run error message: errors encountered whilst performing the operation.
6. As last resort tried to re-install from disk but get same message: itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing.
I am at a loss. I am not computer literate and would really appreciate help. Please note I also disabled virus software whist trying to install.

    I've had to reset my password 3 times in the last 3 days.
    At first, I couldn't get my email. I sweated it out for 12 hours, reset my password and I was good to go again. 48 hours later, I ran into the same issue. Only problem is, not only do I get the 'Incorrect username or password' on my device, but my iCloud.com login no longer works. so now I can't read my messages on the web OR on my device/computer.
    I have went to appleid.apple.com and reset my password there: no luck.
    I have reset the settings on my device: no luck.
    I have Erase and Installed iOS 6.1.2: no luck.
    I have restored my device back to factory settings: no luck.
    I have performed a DFU restore: no luck.
    This is my main account for, well everything.

    Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors: 
    Install the latest version of iTunes.
    Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
    Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
    Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
    If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

  • ITunes not working since I attempted to install iTunes 9.0.2 update....

    My automatic iTunes update popped up tonight and I chose to download and install the new version 9.0.2
    However it gets part way through the installation when another box pops up that says..."The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.mso' in the box below."
    There is then a box labeled "Use Source" with a path to a file. But I have no idea what to do or what the problem is. Since hitting OK doesn't get anywhere, I am forced to select cancel. Which then pops another window that says, "The older version of itunes cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
    When I now click on my current iTunes icon it says, "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
    What happened?! My itunes was fine. I got the notice to install the new version, which I always do. But it didn't install correctly but now I also can't even use my current itunes. PLEASE HELP! Is all my music gone too??????

    I've just been through two days of an iTunes 9 nightmare - and I am happy to report that I have successfully removed iTunes 9 and reverted back to iTunes 8.2.1. I am able to connect to iTunes and my library without it freezing. I even was able to resolve the "can't access iTunes library because it was a 'newer version'" issue!
    I have a Windows XP PC.
    Here's what eventually helped me:
    1. I did a System Restore back to a few days prior to installing iTunes 9. In Windows XP this is found by going to Start > Help and Support. Under 'Pick a Task' choose "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore". On the next screen select 'Restore my computer to an earlier time' and click Next. Select a bold date from the calendar and continue to follow the prompts.
    2. Unless the restore solves your problems, _follow the instructions Apple Support provides_ for "Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP". Follow the instructions in the exact order they provide... until they tell you to Reinstall iTunes and related components.
    3. If you don't have *Windows Installer Cleanup Utility* then do a Google search and find & download it from Microsoft. Once installed, open it and look for anything that starts with iTunes, QuickTime, Apple or Bonjour. If you find it - remove it. If you don't see any of them, don't worry about it and exit the application.
    4. Restart your computer
    5. Go to oldapps.com and download a prior version of iTunes - I reverted back to 8.2.1
    6. Go into My Documents/My Music. Now go into the iTunes folder. Rename your iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library.itl.old. Go into the Previous iTunes Libraries folder (which would be in MyDocuments\MyMusic\Previous iTunes Libraries). Take the most recent file and copy it to the My Documents/My Music/iTunes folder. Rename it iTunes Library.itl. Run iTunes and you should be all set, with your library restored. (NOTE: If you downloaded/purchased anything since that date it will not be there - but should still be in the itl.old file - provided you can figure out how to transfer it over.)
    Good luck - hope this works as well for you as it did for me. What a nightmare this was.

    My Ethernet Controller, PCI device, SM Bus Controller, Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller, and Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller drivers will not install. Therefore I’m unable to connect to a wired connection and use the two USB ports on the left side of my HP DV6-6C10US Entertainment PC laptop.
    I replaced my hard-drive a few days ago and reloaded windows 7 onto my laptop using another recovery disk.

  • Unexpected performance of Firefox in Windows 7, namely minimize/maximize/close buttons not working and unable to move/resize window.

    I have been using FF for a while now. My main computer was WinXP-32, though I recently bought a new laptop with Win7-64 installed. This problem was never experienced on my WinXP machine.
    Brief description of problem:
    After a time of having FF up and running, the minimize/maximize/restore/close buttons in the top-right no longer work as expected and, if not maximised, I cannot move the window around my desktop nor resize the browser window. When clicked, the buttons will
    rapidly flash on and off continuously without appearing to perform any noticeable function other than temporarily hogging CPU cycles. I've found that clicking (sometimes double clicking) in the main browser window then mousing over the buttons again seems
    to stop them flashing, though does nothing else.
    To minimize/maximize/restore/move/close the window(s), I have to right-click on the relevant tab in my taskbar and pick the desired option. Occasionally, however, even this doesn't work and the right-click menu will disappear as soon as I move the mouse
    over it after right-clicking. 'Show desktop' is a temporary fix for minimising windows and 'ALT + F4' or 'CTRL + W' for closing windows or tabs. This isn't satisfactory and to move or resize a window, I have to close the window in question (sometimes all other
    windows too), reopen it and do what I need to do, though sometimes even this is only a very short fix. If I have to close all the windows, FF will sometimes keep running for a while afterwards, even though no windows are actually open - simply ending the process
    via the windows task manager will fix this though is only a work-around, not a fix.
    One thing I have noticed is that if I manage to move the browser window (when not maximised), for a short period afterwards I can often resize the window successfully. This is more likely to occur if the browser window is not flush with the edge of my screen
    once moved.
    I've tried to include as much information as I can - most of which was determined after several minutes/hours of playing around with different scenarios, trying to manually reproduce particular problems or simply through sheer luck of happening to click
    in the right place at the right time! I hope there is a reasonably fix for this at some point in the not-too-distant future.
    I noticed in some of the threads at another site where people have voiced problems similar to mine, that a link to 'ObjectDock' was discovered in some cases. I do have 'ObjectDock 1.90 Plus' installed on my machine and use it in many ways and so decided
    to see if I could find a connection between the two. I have uninstalled, tested, and reinstalled both programs in a multitude of ways, though could find no conclusive correlation between having both bits of software running or installed at the same time and
    the problems I am experiencing. In my case, at least, this does not appear to be an answer.
    Also, in another thread on this site, someone suggested there might be a link with AVG Anti-Virus Free (I have version 9.0.819) though I've tried uninstalling it and its various add-ons in several different combinations, with no noticeable improvement.

    You can also check if the issue occurs in
    Clean Boot. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
    Besides, uninstall it and re-download
    a fresh copy of FireFox to check the result. If the issue still exists, create a new user account to see if it occurs.
    If the issue persists, you can contact Mozilla Support directly and use Internet Explorer (IE) during the time.

  • Several HD channels not working, and unable to undo/redo coax connection

    Several of my Fios HD channels do not work. This is isolated to only a handful of channels - some HD channels are fine, and all SD channels come in as expected. 
    I've read responses here and on Twitter that advise the user to check the coax cable, but I am having a really hard time with this solution. I can remove the coax on the set-top box end, but it appears to be a bit live - when I touch the pin in the middle, I get a definite shock. On the splitter end, the coax must have been put in via machine - it's screwed so tight, it won't budge. I just can't undo it at all.
    Are there any other tips to share for this particular issue? I've followed all of the onscreen prompts to no avail.

    The splitter  coax F-connector may have been installed with a small connector wrench.  Just use a small 11mm or 7/16 in. wrench, or pliers and loosen the connector about 1/2 turn.  Then you can disconnect it with your fingers.  Make sure the cable itself is straight and not putting pressure on the connector.

  • ITunes not working and new downloads not happening

    Hello,
    A few weeks ago, I performed system upgrade which included the new iTunes, Quicktime, and Security update. Afterwards, iTunes quit working; I got a message saying "could not open application because it does not exist" (maybe not exactly what it said). I tried removing iTunes, removing iTunes helper, restarting....here is where further problems started, because now my computer won't restart, shut down, or turn off unless I do it by holding down the power button. So I held down the power button to restart and now I can't open or empty the trash, the "about this mac" screen won't open, system preferences won't open, no downloads whatsoever will run or attach, and of course iTunes still won't work.
    My music folder is still there with all my music, so I feel ok there / I'm just looking for any helpful advice on anything i can do...or if I should just go see a pro.

  • How to Fix Itunes not working and Quicktime uninstall errors!

    1. To get Itunes to work, Quicktime must work too!
    2. If quicktime won't work, you may have to uninstall it!
    3. Start/Run msconfig > startup >uncheck quicktime > reboot
    4. Control Panel > add/remove programs >quicktime
    5. If quicktime won't uninstall:
    6. Start/Run Windows Explorer (win & e keys)
    7. Delete c:\quicktime and/or quicktime(2) folders.
    8. Go to http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=quicktime
    and select quicktime 4.0
    9. Install this version then uninstall it. This will clean up the files of other quicktime versions.
    10. install lastest quickime

    By the way, I've checked the sound on System Preferences for the internal speakers and all systems seem to be set appropriately.  I've tried putting headphones on and sound doesn't work through them either.

    So at first i was just trying to update my iTunes but after many failed attempts i consulted the support page and went through the troubleshooting process and none of them worked so then i uninstalled iTunes from my computer but it will not let me reinstall it. any ideas as to why this happening?

    Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. verify that you have sufficient priviliges to start system services. then it gives the options of abort retry or ignore; when i hit retry or ignore it just goes back to the same original message

    In rare instances, the setting to turn on Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may appear grayed out or dim. You may see the following when you tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
    If this occurs, you can't turn Wi-Fi on, and when you try to turn Wi-Fi on, your device won't respond. If you're using iOS 7, Wi-Fi may appear to turn on and off in Control Center, but Wi-Fi won't respond.
    Resolution
    Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Restart your iOS device.
    Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
    Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
    Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.

    Your device has a hardware failure and only replacement or repair will fix it.  Take it to an Apple Store or an Apple authorized service provider.

  • N8 ovi suite connection not working and unable to ...

    Hi guys, i bought a brand new n8 today with vodafone australia, and being naturally very excited about it i tried to download some apps from the ovi store. i was prompted to download the ovi store installer, which i accepted, but when it came to installing it onto my phone i was displayed"file corrupted". i went on to ovi suite to try and install it from my pc (vista) and i was unable to update my support software, and then my phone was unable to connect to the ovi suite.
    Can someone please help me! this is literally a brand new phone and i have performed no resets, soft or hard, on it.

    The splitter  coax F-connector may have been installed with a small connector wrench.  Just use a small 11mm or 7/16 in. wrench, or pliers and loosen the connector about 1/2 turn.  Then you can disconnect it with your fingers.  Make sure the cable itself is straight and not putting pressure on the connector.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
    (Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
    In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
    Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

It is impossible to directly answer your question because it will vary based on your specific situation. If I had to guess, I'd say that the shop is not being as helpful as they should be.
