ITunes not working; cannot fully uninstall or reinstall

iTunes has been running VERY slowly on our computer and we have been unable to load the latest update.
I decided to uninstall iTunes - but I was unable to completely uninstall it and I have not been able to successfully run the Microsoft Uninstaller utility. In either event, a dialog box with the following message appears:
Could not acess network location %APPDATA%\
Can you advise?

  • How to Fix Itunes not working and Quicktime uninstall errors!

    1. To get Itunes to work, Quicktime must work too!
    2. If quicktime won't work, you may have to uninstall it!
    3. Start/Run msconfig > startup >uncheck quicktime > reboot
    4. Control Panel > add/remove programs >quicktime
    5. If quicktime won't uninstall:
    6. Start/Run Windows Explorer (win & e keys)
    7. Delete c:\quicktime and/or quicktime(2) folders.
    8. Go to http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=quicktime
    and select quicktime 4.0
    9. Install this version then uninstall it. This will clean up the files of other quicktime versions.
    10. install lastest quickime

    By the way, I've checked the sound on System Preferences for the internal speakers and all systems seem to be set appropriately.  I've tried putting headphones on and sound doesn't work through them either.

    The main reason for this is because there was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.

    It's not a good idea to install an ActiveX control in Firefox because you expose your machine to exploits which target that Microsoft technology. If you need to use Internet Explorer, then do that rather installing the IE Tab.
    You may find your other add-ons start working properly after you update Firefox, so do that first.

    After I upgraded to Firefox 4 nothing worked very well. It was slow, crashed a lot and froze, so I uninstalled and downloaded and installed again but then it wouldn't work at all. So uninstalled again. I decided to try 3.6 again as it worked well before , but now it won't work. I can't uninstall because it says Firefox is running and to close it but I have nothing open so how do I close something that isn't open? Never had trouble with Firefox but I'm about done with it. Please advise as to how to fix this. Firefox was in safe mode then it wasn't. What a mess.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

    I trying to determine why Itunes installer indicates ITunes is installed.  I have cleaned Itunes from my Programs folder - deleted the contents of my temp folder - deleted my cookies.  Is it possible that cookies are embedded in the audio and video files I have downloaded to the Itunes program I uninstalled?  Or Is it possible that Itunes installer is detecting a file association?

    For some reason my audio drivers will not work, I have uninstalled and reinstalled about a dozen different IDT HD Audio Codecs/Drivers some with Beats Control panel (Which is what im supposed to have) and some without; to my surprise none will work. Some appear to work at first then they crash or produce delayed/messed up sounds.
    I have even tried the drivers that are supposed to work on my computer on my computers HP Support/Drivers page and it installs halfway the says my hardware isnt compatible. This is not a Hardware issue.

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
    The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if AAS won't install normally.

    I am logged in to my laptop as Administrator.
    3.  After selecting "retry" and "ignore" a few times, install went ahead and got "Congrats, you have successfully installed itunes"

    4. On reinstalling itunes yet again, got, "Programme cannot start because MSVCR80.dll is missing. Try to reinstall programme"

    I figured it out.  A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help.  So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean.  And it worked.  I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked!  And I lost nothing from my account.
    Maybe this info will help others.

    What do you mean "not working"?  That could mean multiple different things.

    According to your description, in my opinion, it seems like not bcd file problem. It's PC itself problem, maybe a hardware problem, also can be system componments corrupt.
    Can this PC startup successfully if you choose reboot or shutdown PC? Or this problem just occures after resume system from hibernate?
