ITunes not working on Windows 7 64-bit

Updated iTunes couple days ago and now it won't open at all. Removed and reinstalled and still nothing. Now what?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit

I can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit. It won't even download.

These are the Windows requirements according to the iTunes dpownload site http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/http://:
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later; 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
xp 64 bit is not mentioned but it doesn't seem to be supported for the latest ITunes so it seems that you're out of luck.

  • HP Laserjet P1006 is not working on Windows 7 (64-bit).

I lost my original CD-Driver and I tried to download the CD-Driver on HP website but it doesn't work when I click printing.  It seems that my HP Laserjet P1006 is not working on Windows 7 (64-bit).
Can anyone give me a link that works for installing driver for HP Laserjet P1006 for Windows 7 (64-bit)?
    Thanks for helping!

    Hi @achieverone ,
I can help you with finding the drivers for the Laserjet P1006.
Just to clarify, you were able to install the printer software, but it just isn't printing correct?
Here are the two drivers available for Windows 7 64 bit.
HP LaserJet P1000-P1500 Hostbased Plug and Play Basic Driver.
HP LaserJet P1005/P1006/P1500 Printer Series Full Feature Software and Driver.
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
Open and close the lid five times quickly. It should print off a page with black lines on it.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a great day!

  • Rocketfish Bluetooth Keyboard RF-BTKB2 not working under Windows 7 64 bit

Rocketfish Bluetooth Keyboard RF-BTKB2 not working under Windows 7 64 bit
Anyone had successs in this or another Bluetooth Keyboard after a bit of a struggle?  What did you do to get it working?  When I Add Device in Bluetooth it sees the keyboard but enlessly scans for it when I try to select and connect.  The Rocketfish Bluetooth mouse worked just fine.

My friend, i have both, the bluetooth mouse and keyboard here that your talking about. and the keyboard was a struggle to pair with the windows 7 64 bit.... i think i spent 2 days working with it. and i didnt try anything special, i just kept trying to pair
it, and unplugging the dongle and working with it... and after a while. it worked... Lately though, i have been looking into getting a wired mouse and keyboard becuase of the delays and sleep time i have with my current keyboard(rocketfish). supposidly there
is a way around the delays but it disables all the options on your keyboard. IE the media buttons, and web browsing features. and my mouse keeps dieing off too....
Also, after researching these products more, i found that alot of people experienced similar problems with them, Being delays and mouse failure. Even with fresh batteries and all. The products werent meant to be used long term(2-3 years) for extensive use...
I dont know about you but i thinki paid 100 bucks for the pair so thats only 25 bucks a year... Which is kinda silly considering i coulda got a better one that wont cough up on me.
If anyone reading this finds a good wireless keyboard that doesnt delay, and a mouth that doesnt delay...(my biggest concern). Please mention it. i am very interested in.

  • Solution found for getting itunes to work on windows XP 64 bit

I recently just got an ipod nano and I got it to work on my window xp 64 bit desktop. I followed the instructions from http://skunkwerks.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/getting-itunes-to-work-with-windows-x p-x64/ and it works but it comes up with an error that your ipod requires itunes 8.0 or later because the prior instructions is for itunes version 7.6.2 so you need to go to http://pctech.invisibill.net/?page_id=36 click on the last link and download itunes64setup again, except this time it's for version 8. Repeat the same steps you did for 7.6.2 only for 8 this time.

You can run a 32 bit version of Windows XP in a virtual machine.  Microsoft is ending support for XP in less than two years, so you may want to invest in an upgrade.

  • ITunes and iCloud not Working with Windows 7 64 bit ???

I just got a new computer running Windows 7 64 bit. I installed iTunes 10.5.2.11 (64 bit). First error was 'The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it as created by a newer verion of iTunes.' I closed iTunes and renamed iTunes Library.itl to iTunes Library.itl-old. Of course when I restarted iTunes, I didn't have a library but that was just a minor problem. iTunes created a new file named Library.itl.
Now when I start iTunes it says 'A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or    reinstall iTunes. (-4204).' There's an OK button so I click OK. That error goes away and then the next error is 'This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not    installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove Tunes, then install    the 64 bit version of iTunes.'
So I've uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled itunes about a dozen times. I downloaded it again to amke sure it was the latest version. Same errors every time. I uninstalled all my Apple stuff and reinstalled it. Same errors. Also, iCloud doesn't work. Error is "Application not found."
So ***? iTunes won't recognize my iPod touch or my iPad 2. Tried two different cables. Suggestions???

  • ITunes 9.1 does not work with Windows 7 64-bit

I just updated my itunes to 9.1. Now it will not start or falsely tells me someone else is already using it. That's not true. No one else is using it. When I reboot and start fresh iTunes will work. But when I close it and try to get back onto it, nothing happens or I get the error message that someone else is using it. My prior version worked fine on Windows 7 64-bit.

I'm having issues also. I have a Gateway desk top and it has Windows 7 64-bit and iTunes 9 will not install. Keeps saying it could not access my network location. I can't seem to get any resolution from Gateway or Apple for this problem. Even my Adobe Reader 9 doesn't work and I've only had this computer fot 2 WEEKS! Oh! Let's not forget Adobe Flash Player won't download either.

  • Hp 5850 deskjet not working in windows 7 64 bit

    Hello everyone,
There r many posts talking about how to connect old printers in new OS 64 bit. I v followed the HP official method, which is, install 5600 driver by adding a new printer named "5800"(or whatever). Then change the port in printer property into "USB". After i connect my printer to the usb, the new "5800" device icon becomes bright color( before it was dark) and seems like it will work. But the unknown device icon "5800" is still there so there are two icons in " devices and printers" folder. When i print something the status of printers show me the documents always under" printing" status and whe printer doesnt work at all.
I may not speaking clearly cause my language is asian. If somebody is an expert i am sure he can understand what i mean.
In my option if i can remove the icon of "unknow device"s and leave the added printer icon alone there, the problems gona be solved. But it seems like there s no way to make it. I bought the printer on ebay with 50 bucks(free shipping), it comes with new ink and extra inks too. If  u can fix this problem then i am gona appreciate very much cause u v saved my dollars:-)
Still remember the day when i bought my first HP laptop. I v been to their service office in northern CA  near sunnyvale and there was a guy whos nice to me helping me blow the dust out of my laptop. Now i am using Sony cause they have "expensive looking" laptop and the service is better(they v mailed me free screwdrivers and recovery disks after i called them, unbelievable!)  No offense to HP but they seem less willing to offer help in my opinion...(the representitive told me my printers old and out of warranty so he wouldnt answer my questions... its true and reasonable maybe)
There is an activity this September 21st when experts of HP will come to reply posts so hopefully they can see mine and say something about it.
Its my first post since i registered 3 yrs ago so...
best wishes to all HP members

  • VMwarePlayer not working in windows 7 - 64 bit

    Hi,
I have tried to install ubuntu 12.04 LTS in VMware-player (ver-6.0.2-1744117) running over windows 7 home edition 64 bit.
I didn't get any error while installing the VMWare Player as well as installing guest os.
Guest OS : Ubuntu 12.04 (also tried with 14.04 LTS) - installing using `iso` image
    Host   OS : Windows 7, 64 bit
    Processor :1
After entering the password in ubuntu, it gets freeze and becomes entirely purple(default ubuntu theme). I could not find any unix utilities or icons.
I have tried changing RAM for 512MB, 1GB and 2GB , but it didn't help.
I found that many people had face the same kind of issue while running VMware Player on windows 7, But could not find any appropriate answer which solves the mentioned issue.
I have also tried with VMware workstation(ver-10.0.2-1744117) but the same problem persist there.
Please suggest some fix for this issue.

But I have it worked fine a week ago! I think that stopped working after firmware update...

  • Blckberry Storm Does not Work on Windows 7 64 Bit Nor on Outlook 2010

Well I have been trying to get this @*** thing working for the last @*## week.  My Dell was fried by a power spike.  The Blackberry was in my pocket well away from the power spike.  My current configuration is:
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Acer Aspire 7540
4 GB of Memory  64 Bit Operating System
Blackberry Storm 9530, Platform Version 4.2.0.179, Application Version 5.0.0.419
    1.  I have installed the latest version of the Desktop Software via downloiad.
    2.  I spent most of today with tech support from Telus.
    3.  Neither MSS or MTP will work.  We have installed and reinstalled all of the software atleast 3 or 4 times.
    4.  The Windows troubleshooter knows there is a problem and fails.  It says (really helpful).  USB Mass Storage Device has a driver problem.  It also tries to install the MTP driver and fails.  What is strange is that there is some communication going on between the Blackberry and the PC.
    5.  I can not get anything off the Blackberry (photos etc.).
    6.  The Blackberry does not work with Outlook 2010.
How can RIM possibly stay competitve when they can not even support the two largest platorms out there (Windows 7 64 bit and Outlook 2010).  This is a symptom of massive problems for the future of this company.
I can not talk to RIM.  They want me to talk to Telus.  Telus says there is nothing they can do.  I basically have a Blackberry that is little more than a simple phone.  If the @#*# thing did not cost so much I would just pitch it and get an iPhone.

    As was stated above:
    1. Go to Options >> Media Card (or Memory)
(some themes or BlackBerrys may call this "Settings >> Media Card")
    2. Check the following settings (if they are not listed this way, then change to reflect the following:
    a) Media Card Support: On
    b) Mass Storage Mode Support: On
    c) Auto Enable Mass Storage: Yes
    3. Save the settings and exit

    Can someone help?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hey what's up Gatos.
Listen I have the same problem and I was wondering if you figured it out since October 2010 (your last post).
I also get the same IOException exception error. I also have windows 7 64bit, i installed 32 bit version of the SDK and uninstalled any previous versions. The Java ME SDK 3.0 Kit installed as well, and pointing to an appropriate sdk directory. I also tried changing the two configuration files (didn't have to change them because they were correct since I did not have any other version of sdk installed prior to installation of Java ME SDK 3.0.
So I am experiencing the same exact symptoms and I am wondering if you have resolved this issue yet or if you know of any other source of information that might help me. Your help would be greatly appreciated on this one. Thanks, and please respond even if it is a no if you can.
    **EDIT:**
The Java ME SDK 3.0 magically started few times too, after displaying manyyyyyyy of these error windows, but it does not happen every time either. HELP
