ITunes not working on Windows 8.1

Hi,
Is anyone else having issues with iTunes (11.1.2.23) running on Windows 8.1 on a Surface Pro 2? Here is the problem I am having: iTunes installed fine, and when I launch iTunes it runs. When I try to sign in with my Apple ID (or Authorize This Computer) it says it is "Accessing iTunes Store". It never does access the iTunes store. I have working internet access, and I can Google search anything, but iTunes will not take my sign in or authorization. Before you ask, Yes I am using the correct (and correctly typed in) user and password. In fact I just used those same credentials to get signed up here. So far I have been waiting 10 minutes for it to sign me in, and all I get is "Accessing iTunes Store"
Has anyone else had this issue? I have already tried rebooting, disconnecting and reconnecting to WiFi, uninstalling and re-installing iTunes (11.1.2.23), but nothing is working, so that is why I am asking here.
Thanks for your time and any help/suggestions you can offer.

GUYS I FOUND THE FIX FOR THIS AND IT ACTUALLY WORKS YAY!!
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Worked for me, so happy! Hope it does for all you lot too!

  • ITunes not working w/ Windows 7

I have a brand new computer which uses Windows 7. Installed iTunes 9.02 (64-bit installer). Unable to log in to account or authorize computer. I get a message saying "unknown error occurred (-9808)".
    Any advice / ideas?

hey guys... i have the same pc as you and also cannot for the life of me get itunes to see my ipod in the source pane. drivers are all good, my computer sees the ipod and everything looks plush, except itunes just doesnt see my pod. really weird, but glad im not alone. i know my ipod/cables works cuz i still use it on my xp system without problems (running itunes ver. 7). so dont go thinking its something with your ipod. its def a communication thing between windows7/apple. i dont know what else to do. have tried everything and I mean everything that i can to the best of my abilities. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. there are some suggestions as to tweaking the BIOS somehow but i dont think that should be necessary with a new PC, aint gonna go doin that kind of stuff just cuz itunes blows. i still got my xp pc, so for now until someone gets a fix, ill just use that. keep me posted if you figure it out... im also still on the hunt.

  • Itunes not working with windows 7 in a network environment.

    Hello,
We are a Novell site and have a mixed group of computers on site. Everything from Linux, to Mac, to Windows, XP and 7 both Pro. We have the network set up that when a user logs in their "my documents folder" is redirected to a network drive. We have had no issues with this in Windows XP pro. However on Windows 7 Pro we can net get this to work. Here are the steps
Log in as local admin with is default so mapping or anything special.
Next we log in as our self which brings up the network mapping
    We install the program
Then what is supposed to happen is when ever someone logs into that machine they have access to all programs and everything automatically saves to their network drive. However this is not happening. If you sign in as local admin it all works fine but as soon as you add the network portion we receive an error stating that itunes could not start due to insufficient rights.
Can someone please help me with this.
We are on Zen agent 10.3.1

    novell.support.zenworks.configuration-management.10.policies is a better
forum since ZDM7 does not apply in the Windows 7 world.
However, I would start testing without any policies.
Most likely one of those policies is causing the issue.
Then it would be a question to ask on the iTunes about that policy such
    as redirected folders.
ZCM's only role would be if the redirection was successful or not.

Your server is Novell? Try running the machine in Virtual XP mode.

  • Itunes not working on windows xp

I was prompted on itunes site to download the most up to date versionof itunes which I did. Now I find that the itunes programme/application will not run on my PC. I am using Windows XP on a Pentium 4 cpu 3.00GH2, 2.99 GHz  2.50 GB Ram. It looks like my PC is not able to run the updated version that I downloaded. How can I go back to the previous version. I dont want to install/reinstal itunes as I presume that i would lose the music from my itunes library

    Hi,
If you uninstall iTunes, you will not lost you music because there is a file stored somewhere in your computer that stores all of your songs, apps, audiobooks settings, stuff like that. What alot of people do is that they disable there antivirus software before they update iTunes or install it. Works for alot of people. First, uninstall iTunes. Second, disable your antivirus system, then go to the Apple website and then download the latest version of iTunes. Tell me if this helps.

  • 64-bit iTunes not working on Windows 7.  Apple needs to help!

I have reinstalled the 64-bit version of iTunes multiple times / ran the repair utility too, but to no avail!  I have followed the various suggestions on Apple.com and on the web but it isn't working.  It is not a 32-bit / 64-bit conflict on the Windows side.  Other applications are running without issue.
Apple support needs to provide some fix to this!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • ITunes Not Working After Windows Upgrade from Vista to 7

I recently upgraded a laptop from Vista to 7.  iTunes 7.x was installed before the upgrade.  As soon as Windows 7 was insatlled I upgraded to the lates version of iTunes(10.x).  After the upgrade I had some issue where I was getting an error about artwork and iTunes would not open.  I renamed the artwork folder to old and then I was able to get into iTunes.  The next problem that I am running in to is that any time I click on a task such as find music iTunes stops responding and crashes.  I've tried new config files, completely uninstalling and reinstalling, clean booting, etc. with no luck.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I've been working on this issue for 2 days with no luck.  Still looking for a solution if anyone has one.  Thanks!

  • Itunes not working for Windows 7

So when I open the new iTunes software it starts up, asks me to sign in, then a pop up comes up saying that iTunes has stopped working. This is extremely frustrating.

I'd like to know this too, I have a 64 bit machine and have deleted my entire 30K of songs THREE TIMES and reinstalled 64 bit Itunes and now cannot even open Itunes, it just immediately says it isn't working and shuts down. So now I cannot even update my IPod!! This has been going on for months with me trying everything written. It will work after a reinstall for a month or so (after reloading and rebuilding all my lists and music which takes weeks), and then starts shutting down again. I am past frustrated and I can't seem to find a really solution anywhere. SO, APPLE what is UP?!
