Itunes not working when i plug ipod in

I have resetted a ipod classic to the original settings and it will not connect to itunes on my windows 7 computer. A message comes up that says itunes not working and closes it down. What do I need to do to get it back and running so I can put music on it?

i believe you are using an apple device for the first time
once you connect your device to the computer, on the left handside in centre of itunes your device will appear
if you dont know how to add songs and other stuff, just look for it on youtube which will be easy to follow

Hi, I'm pretty sure I did something wrong... I unplugged my nano from my pc without ejecting because I didn't want it to auto sync. Now when I plug it back in, it won't open itunes. If I manually open itunes, it stays frozen. But itunes seems to work fine when nano is not plugged in. This all happened because I got a new pc and was trying to figure out how to get around the auto sync... Help!

The model=auto option was actually the only thing i found on the internet that looked related and/or promising so i already tried that.

Even if you mute the PCM channel ?
There's no such option for my PCM channel. Can't mute it.
It might be unrelated, but something that struck me as strange is the that there's no more volume support by my acpi-module.

Before 2.6.33 thinkpad-acpi has always been able to control the volume. However that might just be because tpacpi is switching its interface more and more to /sys instead of /proc.
Any more ideas?

Itunes not opening when i plug ipod in

When I plug in my 4G iPod touch, my MacBook (OS X 10.6.8) charges the iPod but iTunes will not open. The iPod does not even show up in iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes. I've tried using a different USB port, a different iPod cord, deleting iTunes and reinstalling iTunes, tried rebooting Mac and iPod, tried resetting iPod. I really don't want to erase what is on my iPod because if iTunes still doesn't recognize it, I will lose everything. Any ideas?

You likely have a problem with the headphone jack. You jhave to ways to listen to music via headphones:

However first I wold rule out a software problem by try the following:
Reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults.
The other way is to use bluetooth headhone if you have a 2G or later iPod.

Try the stamdard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost

If it only works when connected to a charger, that would indicate a battery issue.
As for the other issue... do as it suggests and connect to iTunes then restore. There is no logical, intelligent expectation that anything on the device can be accessed as long as the "Connect to iTunes" screen is displaying.

My iphone text tone is not working when I plug in the earphone.
My earphone is always plug into the iphone as I use it to answer calls. I notice that iphone does not alert me (sound) when there is a new messages. Instead the text sound is transfer to the earphone speaker.
As the earphone is plug into the iphone and I am not putting it on always, I need it to still hear the text tone whenever I received new messages.
Anyone pls help.. the problem still there even I updated..

Your options are:
1) Unplug the headset.
2) Leave the headset plugged in and the earpiece in your ear at all times.

Itunes not working when trying to sync ipad and iphone 4

Hello I have been having a number of issues with itunes not working. When I try to sync my ipad or iphone 4 itunes locks up does not see my devices connected I have to reboot 5 times before I can get them to be seen in itunes. Also when I am able to get itunes to see my ipad it will lock up at backing up ipad. I have removed everything apple and reinstalled and same issue. I am running windows vista 64 bit I don't remember having this problem until the new itunes came out and after I got my iphone 4. Any one have any ideas on how to fix this.

ITunes not responding when I plug in my iPod

Hey all, I need some help. Recently when I plug my iPod into my PC to update my iPod with the new music that I have loaded into iTunes, as soon as I do iTunes stops working and when I checked in my windows task manager under appplications/status it says iTunes is not responding. when my iPod is not plugged in, iTunes works fine. I can't get past this. Yes I did load the updated software, it didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is also happening to me updated latest version of Itunes. Itunes works fine but doesn't show the ipod when I attach. Tried most of the hints on the web site but nothing is working. Plugged the ipod into my base station and hey presto it works fine. I have also tried top re load the ipod software on the lap top but this isn't working either it asks for the ipod to be plugged in when it is plugged in it doesn't see it. Yet in windows explorer you can see the ipod is connected. Any idea's anyone. Shall i try to install version 6.0.0 of itunes instead of the latest version ?
