Itunes on home PC not working properly

My home computer runs Windows 7. I have an iphone 4s, ipad and ipod that I connect to this PC. My problem is I can't get itunes to work anymore. I've tried uninstalling as has been instructed here somewhere but it still doesn't work.
It opens up the screen goes black & then seems to change & itunes displays with a huge font & all fuzzy. It says to change the resolution etc but when I try to do that it just goes back to my computer desktop. Is there something else I can try to get it working again? Luckily for me I do have access to itunes at work so it isn't all bad but very frustrating if I need to do something from home.
Question 2 - I have two email addresses with itunes & want to add some playlists from the other one to my iphone. Is this a possibility & if so how do I do it?

That suggests that iTunes has been set to run in an odd display mode ... although it's more common to get an error message with that nowadays.
Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):

ITunes 10.6.3 home sharing not working properly

iTunes 10.6.3 home sharing not working properly. I can access with my three ATV2's watch a movie later that same day it tries to access and ATV2 just keeps trying and never gets through to the library. If I restart iTunes its fine then later can't access. I am running iTunes 10.6.3 on a i7 Mac Mini with 10.7.4. Sole job is to be iTunes server and an occasional HTPC with remote buddy running. I disabled remote buddy ajax remote feature, and file sharing is on so I can load new tracks form other macs Thats it, a vanilla install with all updates.. No problem prior but not sure if problem free period was with 10.6 earler versions or 10.5 versions. I update as warnings to do so come up. The remote app has same problem accessing the Home Share. I disabled home sharing on my iPhone and set to access the old method with 4 digit code and sees all the time and will play to my express base stations so seems to be home sharing issue because iPhone apps with home sharing on and ATV2s have issue accessing.
I'm never home but when I am I use this equipment loads and this weekend not reliable at all. I have firewall disabled, and setup is as before and is working fine. I am using Mini by ethernet and using AEBS 1st generation gigabit as router only wired to cable modem and whole house ethernet attached, latest version AEBS gigabit as a wireless bridge and 2 prior version 11n expresses and a 11g express, all expresses are set to wireless off and are connected to ethernet and then to a stereo in 3 different rooms.
I can't be only one. Considering downgrading to last version of 10.5 but not sure how to do this.
How many of you are having trouble?
Any resolutions?
How to report to Apple?
How to downgrade safely? Or is it 10.7.4?

I ran into the specific problem in another thread. There are more than 100 connections from the apple TV's to iTunes. You can do a netstat -a (windows or Mac), and verify the problem. iTunes is smart enough to stop allowing more than 100 connections but stupid to allow the ATV to create so many connections.
Now for what you really want! Set all of your ATVs to wifi only. Even setting the iTunes host to wifi might help also. I think that wifi is more unreliable, and forces connections to drop, keeping the count under 100.
I also turned off ip v6. That could help you also. I originally had problems on a Mac mini, and built a windows 7 box to try to fix the problem. The wifi trick worked on both platforms. Several of us have bug reports into apple. I have a wired house also, and am very angry to NEED to use slow wifi to overcome this problem. The ATV gen 3 has been able to keep up with 1080p over wifi, so it doesn't hurt too much. What really hurts is spending over 40 hours troubleshooting this bug.

Home sharing not working properly on my iBook OS X

Hi, I just purchased a iBook OS X, and I'm having trouble using it. I have used Windows my whole life and this is new for me.
The problem I'm having is trying to transfer my iTunes music library from my windows of to this iBook, and I have tried doing home share and authorizing computer on iBook, but it doesn't do anything. Unfortunately my windows pc is not working properly and it freezes up every time I try to log in, so I can't really do nothing with that. I can't even check if that pc's home share is turned on, which I think it is.
Do you guys have any idea how I can transfer my music library without having to use my windows pc?
Please helppppp! I purchased this laptop from a guy, so I don't fall in the complimentary service and can't afford to pay apple care.

Itunes on my 4s not working properly with docking stations

Just in the last week itunes on my 4s won't work properly with my docking stations. I have one at home that is my alarm clock and while my phone will charge when my alarm goes off it will not play music, it just beeps which is what it does when the alarm goes off and the phone is not on it. If I press play on my the Itunes app itself it will play music. I have a station at work that I use daily as well, and same thing there, if I press the play button the station it won't work, but if press the play button on the app it will play. I believe it is an Itunes app issue because it will work as it is supposed to with the pandora appg. Anyone else having this type of issue? Any suggestions or tips are welcome.

Home Sharing Not Working Properly

Hi everyone,
I've been through the support pages and the forums here and I've tried just about everything I can think of and whatever was suggested but I'm still having Home Sharing issues. Well, it works for one Mac.
I have:
24" iMac 2.8GHz, running OS X 10.8.1
13" MacBook, also running Mountain Lion
First gen iPad
iPhone 4
Two iTunes accounts, one for the US and one for Canada. All the above devices are set to use the US account.
Both iOS devices and both Mac's are setup for Home Sharing with the same account, are on the same network (Apple Airport with a 16-Port 3Com switch) and I am connected to the internet via broadband.
The issue: My MacBook's library shows up in Home Sharing on my iPhone, but my iMac's doesn't. When my MacBook and iTunes are on, the iMac library does show up as a Shared device though. My iMac's library, which has most of my music, shows, movies and books, does not show up in Home Sharing for ANY of my devices above if my MacBook is not turned on.
The Shared folder on my iPad does not even show up, so neither my MacBook nor my iMac's libraries show up.
I just discovered that my iMac's library DOES show up in Home Sharing when (and only when) my MacBook is on. I see from my list of Home Sharing devices on my iPhone that both my iMac and my MacBook's library have the exact same name.
I read that this is a possible issue, so I went into system preferences on my MacBook and changed my account name to something else. Then I checked all devices. Nothing changed. It still shows as the old name, so I put my MB to sleep, saw it disappear from the network and then opened it up again. Same thing, old name.
Is this the issue, two libraries with the same name? If it is, how do I change the library's name?
Could another possiblity be that, even though everything is on the same network, the iMac is hard-wired to a 3Com switch and my MacBook and both iOS devices are running wirelessly via the AirPort?
If not, what the heck is the problem?!

Thank you, infinite vortex, that definitely helped! I can now see my iMac's library even if my MacBook is turned off.
Next question, checking my iPad, I don't see anywhere in Music or Videos where I can choose "Shared", so both my iMac and my MacBook's libraries do not exist on my iPad.

Iphone and ipod losing sync with shared itunes library - home sharing not working

I hope this can help some people who have had problems with syncing their IOS devices to their shared itunes library.
Having had a lot of trouble with syncing and sharing my itunes libraries from two PC's to an iphone 4 and 4S via "itunes home sharing", I decided to try and find a solution using typical search engine search phrases. I found a number of issues similar to mine that pointed toward local network protocols such as media serving, and the ability or lack of ability to use these protocols by DSL routers.
My solution was simple, change the DSL router. My ISP supplied DSL router was the problem, not being able to identify that the PC's hosting my itunes libraries become media servers when itunes home sharing is switched on. My DSL box is a Tesco Broadband branded/firmware Thomson TG580. As a test I tried out a box from my previous supplier, an O2 branded/firmware Thomson/Technicolor TG582n. Although this wont work with my ISP connection, it will work as a wirless/wired router. As soon as I connected this all together, it worked first time without any hassle. I was mirroring my shared HD videos via the itunes home shared library to my 4S perfectly.
I know this may not help most people, but if you have the chance to test another wireless router, give it a go. Having had a good look, I can't find an Apple compatibility list. Maybe this is something they could do, or maybe someone can point out a site that may have this info?
I am by no means an Apple Fanboy, but I have to say that a lot of the complaints about the home sharing between itunes, ipods, iphones, Apple TV etc. may simply be the router and not itunes or the IOS devices.
My setup is PC's running the latest itunes with Win 7 32 & 64 bit and my IOS devices on 6, I also tested an iphone 4 on IOS 5 that worked perfectly. My 4S is now a perfect HDMI media player/streamer for my itunes music and videos encoded to H.264 using Handbrake.

Assuimg you have the latest ATV firmware, at the bottom of the general settings menu on your apple TV there is an option to reset your apple TV. Try that and then reset it up back on your network.
Before testing ensure the correct time/date/nearest City is setup in the ATV settings and re-enter your apple ID/password and turn on home sharing. You can connect to your network either via wifi or cable and see if it then works.
Resetting the ATV and then checking and re-entering all my settings worked for me.
I guess if not, then the next step is to disable any firewall on your PC and see if that works after the PC is rebooted.

IPod touch 4 home button not working properly

I got my ipod in november 2010 and it worked fine up untill august where the home button just suddenly became undresponsive. I did not abuse my iPod i am very careful i have a case and no screen cracks/dents etc.. Now it works about 30% of the time and it is really annoying I had to turn on this awful feature where i geta virtual home button which is in the way of everything and i cant even arrange it properly. I am very dissapointed with apples express lane which provided absolutely no help and in their hardware. I have several freinds who got the same type of ipod at around the same time and they are having the same problems. Was it designed to do this? I am now wondering how much I am going to be charged for this. May I get it for free even though my warrenty expired very recently? thanks for the help

Home Button not working properly after latest update

After installing the latest update on my Iphone 4S, the home button immediately started to give me problems. It works sporadically. Sometimes it allows me to close apps when I tap it twice, sometimes it won't do anything, sometimes it will go to the negative effect. This was not an issue prior to the latest update. I have version 7.1. Has anyone found a repair for this?

ITunes 'Up Next'-feature not working properly

With the new iTunes 11 update, I started using 'Up next' regularly. It's a nice feature, I think, as it allows me to quickly make 'on the fly' playlists (mostly full albums).
To me, the subtle difference between 'play next' and 'add to up next' is also very likeable.
It appears to me the feature has some minor flaw or is still bugged in this new iTunes version.
My problem is as follows:
Whilst playing songs from album X, I want to add another album Y to the 'on the fly' playlist by clicking 'Add to up next'. Album Y would sometimes be added in a 'play next' manner, on top the current play queue.
The rest of album X would then be played AFTER album Y (album Y being visible in up next as 'Back to: ...' )
This is the exact same effect as the 'play next' option has!!!
I need the second album to be added AFTER album X, as the up next feature normally does.
Curiously, this does not happen everytime. Sometimes 'adding to up next' seems to work just fine, adding songs at the end of the queue. And I also haven't found the source of this flaw (eg. where I would add the songs from: in album view, in artist view, from search results,...) as it occured in all of the mentioned situations.
Anyone who can help me with this? Is it something I'm doing wrong or is it indeed a bug in iTunes?

I think the issue has to do with how the rest of the list is constructued. I noticed that when I am playing on shuffle from a playlist, and add specific songs, they are added at the start. However, when after that, I add more songs, they are added after the previous songs, but before the "shuffle" resumes. This at least is how it has been for me consistently.
An issue I have with Up next, which may be related, is that when I add a song which I don't want to hear next, I will drag it and drop it somewhere in the list of songs that itunes picked randomly out of my list, it disappears. Surely, when I drop it, it will be there, it will stay there when I close the list and check again, however, when the current song is finished and the next one starts, this song is completely gone again. Very weird...
One of the posts in this topic set me on the path to the solution, which is not dragging my added songs down, but move the shuffled songs up. Then everything seems to be working fine, strange enough. So, when I want to hear two songs soon, but not directly after eacht other (say I want 8 songs in between, for example because they are by the same singer and I want it to sound like it is random), I need to add those two songs. And then instead of moving the second song downwards, I need to move 8 songs upwards....

What can i do if an iTunes movie download is not working properly

The movie that I downloaded to my iTunes account is pausing in the middle of the movie (of course, at the best part!). Does anyone one know what options I have to get this corrected without having to pay for it again?

ITunes LP Bionic not working properly for iTunes

Christina Aguilera's new iTunes LP Bionic does not work properly on iTunes 9.1.1 on my MacBook Pro 13" running Snow Leopard on 64-bit mode.
It does work properly on iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit.
This is how it does not work properly: It does not automatically refresh the display content when I have clicked on a menu item. It only refreshes the display when I move the scroll bars along the display borders, thus invalidating certain region of the display content making the LP to redraw the display. As a result clicking on the menu items, such as Photos, Song List, Credits, and Discography, etc., do not have immediate effect. Needless to say it does not work at all in full screen mode as there is nothing that can be done to invalidate the display and get the LP to redraw.
Again it works properly on iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit so I would say it's an iTunes on Mac issue.

I actually am on a Dell running Windows 7 and am having issues downloading the iTunes LP from the store. It's in my downloads saved, but I'm getting a message saying: "Christina Aguilera Bionic (Deluxe Edition) iTunes LP was not downloaded. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation." Any ideas? It seems as though I'm having the opposite problem as most of you.
