ITunes on iPhone no longer downloading poscasts
I ALWAYS for some time use itunes on my iphone to DL free podcasts like MSNBC audio from shows and NBC audio nightly news. Just 2 days ago, I now get msg "itunes can not play this file on this iphone" (something like that). So whats up with that? These news audio files are free downloads. Now suddenly they will not download to this iphone 3g. Did itunes change something?

Looks like it was and is the ATT network causing this. I only get "E", not 3G when at work. Poor ATT reception.

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -
Downloads on iPhone no longer download to iTunes
If I download an album on my iPhone it used to download to the iTunes on my mac. Since the (horrible) iTunes 11 came out it doesn't work any more. The songs are listed, I can play them and I can make them into playlists but I can't add the playlist to my phone - it isn't listed in the phone screen.
All the new songs have an exclanation mark next to the number in the first column. When I check the info panel it says they are in the cloud. Right clicking and asking for a download just gives me an error message (in a box too small for the error and no scroll) and the songs then vanish.
This seems very broken. How do I get it back so the songs download to my computer? Checking for purchased items does absolutely nothing.ahhhhh same to me!!!!!! where is the "device" sing?!!? i cant sync music to my iphone anymore!

I purchased an album through iTunes on my iPhone 4, and my PayPal account has been charged for the entire album. However, all but 2 songs would download to my phone. The other 2 have a download error. Any suggestions on how to fix the error, or to get a refund for the songs that I can't get?

I download latest updates for itunes and my iphone, when it comes to installing, it successfully downloads, but then i get a message for iphone software error=1403 file corrupted, and for itunes it downloads, then when i try to install it a message says unable to install software, file maybe corrupted!!
The iTunes update must be downloaded and installed before you try and use it to update the iPhone OS
Download iTunes 10.2.2 from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1103
When it completes it will auto mount the disc image and show you the package installer, don't try and do anything with the file until it gets to this stage.
Once that's installed reboot the Mac, run iTunes, connect your iPhone and let it sync, then hit the update button and let it complete that step by itself (which will require a restart of the iPhone) -
Itunes on iPhone 3gs requires "Download" after sync -- Help!
I've done a full sync of music and TV shows from iTunes to my iPhone... However, I can't play any of these files: they show up in my "purchased" folder on my iPhone but have the "download"/"cloud"/"download all" icon next to them. I've turned off the wireless updates... and they seem to be transferring during the usb sync from iTunes. I've tried to delete my music and TV shows from my iPhone and re-sync ... nothing works.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks --If it works on 3G and not on wifi, I suspect it's being blocked by your wifi router. You'll need to check the settings on your router.

i tried to upgrade my iphone 4 to ios5 yesterday in the installation process my iphone stopped process and the actuall phone itself has frozen what is showing is the music note icon over a CD disc icon with an arrow pointing upwards and a picture of the usb cable small end . i have gone back into itunes on the left side and nothing comes up for list of devices to restore it or reset it back to prior upgrade attempt. i cant even locate the serial number under edit preferences and devices.. however it shows that all my music was imported and synced .. how do i recover the i phone so i can go back to using it.

The installed version of iTunes may also be too old. Update iTunes.
Also put your iPhone in DFU mode when doing the above and restore. It's a software error. -

Steve Jobs obviously was "the man" because every update or install now gives me problems... i can no longer download anything to my iphone.. giving me errors of "cannot install at this time" and i get an error installing itunes on my other laptop... wth is going on!??!
ok so the download problem with my iphone.. what could be the cause of that? ive restarted and deleted the "undownloaded app" over 10 times already. and restarted the iphone 10 times... next thing i know i cant install itunes on my laptop.... geez man..
obviously there is a fix which someone will help... but why should i have to go through all that crap to install a so called uncomplicated software... when you think about it this really shouldnt even be an issue.
normally if the thing dosent work. normally with most programs you just uninstall the uncompleted software and just reinstall and everything is usually good to go.. help!ive never had any problems with ap[ple products in the past... this is a first and a stupid problem if you ask me

I have recently purchased an iPhone 6 64GB and upgraded to Yosemite on my old MBA. Two main issues.
1. iTunes does not automatically download purchases from the store, if I go store -> check for available downloads it tells me that I have no available downloads, yet I have about 10 albums and 10 films and countless TV series in the cloud. I can select to download these manually, but why does the check for available downloads not work?
2. Most annoyingly my iPhone 6 keeps losing 90% of my music library. Previously I have been using an old iPhone 4s and used the iTunes Match service. I moved to China, music streaming is no longer an option due to terrible internet connections, blocked internet access etc etc, so initially I tried to download my music collection over wifi - took a long time, got there in the end. Then most of it disappeared, so I turned off iTunes Match on my MBA and iPhone and took to syncing old school via a cable, the library copied across (accept the music that iTunes had decided not to downloaded....) and all was good with the world again. Then this morning I went to access my library I had gone from 5000+ songs to 500 songs, my iPhone showed 50gb of free space. The only change over the weekend was that I turned on iTunes match on my Apple TV (which is kinda useless other than airplay with all internet issues here but thats a whole different story), but this shouldn't have affected my iPhone as match was turned off on it... plus I am sure iTunes Match shouldn't just delete my library....
Any thoughts?!Just an update, following last nights USB sync all music shows as In the library on my iPhone, however only the same 500 or so songs are playable, the rest go from appearing to be in the library to going into the cloud and starting to download when manually selected. If on shuffle the music skips over them. The iPhone memory usage shows only about 10gb used most of which is for the iOS/apps, so once again my music library is not on my iPhone. Apple have managed to take a great product and turn it into a steaming pile of turd.

how to enable my apple id on iTunes? Somehow its disabled and I can no longer download Apps on my IPhone ??
Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone then try logging out of your account on the phone by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it -
I'm running OSX 10.5.8 - iTunes 10 will no longer export to mu iPhone. This system can't upgrade to iTunes 11. Is there a work around?

Hi, I don't know if this will help you but I have both an iPhone 4 and a iPhone 6 that would not work. In my case the latest version of iTunes is 12.01.035. I remembered having a similar problem on Windows 7/64 bit a while back and decided to reboot my computer go into the bios and basically disabled a bios setting called Intel xHCI Mode. This flag in the bios is used to turn off the USB 3.0 controllers. As soon I did that, and saved my system booted fine and it noticed both phones just fine. I tested this several more time on my system which is still fairly new having been build from scratch last last year. Each time when I turned USB3.0 back on, iTunes and Windows 7 for that matter would not notice my phones. If you do a search on that bios setting you will find the USB 3.0 has caused problems with many of the older device drivers and technology.
