ITunes on laptop with no memory left!

My iTunes account is on 6yr old laptop which has no memory left even after everything deleted bar iTunes (including printer drivers etc). Have iPhone and iPad and don't want new laptop. iTunes is mainly CDs with a few photographs and sone small apps. What options do I have other than pay to download all my music?

I think you're out of luck then. BTW, I am not sure the 32-bit vs 64-bit is even an issue.  itunes itself is still a 32-bit program. The 64-bit installer simply installs 64-bit drivers (for CD burning, ipod service, a few others).,
I suspect the itunes program is checking some registry key(s) to make sure a sound card is available. Since Apple is not going to say what registry key that is, it seems to me you have 4 choices:
1) install a sound card (if the server will even allow this  - some don't)
2) install sound card emulator software
3) install Process Monitor  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645 and spend hours figuring out what registry key it is, and changing it to satisfy itunes
4) put up with OKing the message

  • Help installing itunes on laptop with Windows Vista.

I have a laptop with Windows Vista.  I've tried to download iTunes but I keep getting a message that says "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for his install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personel or package vendor."  I read a thread that suggested removing all Apple components then restarting.  I was unable to remove Apple Software Update.  All other components were removed fine.  Someone please help.  Thanks.

    Hi...
Um, I wouldn't have a clue if it's a USB1 or 2. I may be computer literate... but the technicalities go whoosing over my head. How can I tell?
Yes, I do think I have probs with my iPod (sure didn't take 3 hours to charge before the folder with the ! with the support link comes up on the screen. But there is the problem that I can't download iTunes from the site without getting a *corrupt installation files. Find a fresh copy and download again.* Lost count of how many times I've done that. I even downloaded the standalone quicktime first.
    Gah! I'm soooo frustrated.
Will try the iPod updater this morning and hope I successfully choose the 5th Gen iPod.
    thanks heaps

  • E1-510-2602 laptop with max memory 8GB Can I replace 4gb in slot with 8 gb

I want to increase my 4 gb to 8 gb and bought 4gb memory but when I opened the back there is only one slot with 4gb. Can I replace that with 8gb of memory

Would probably start by checking out the RAM, most likely it's RAM that could be imcompatible (DDR3 vs DDR3L or different voltage, etc...) or possibly just a bad stick of RAM.

  • I bought a new laptop with Windows 7. My computer name in Windows has changed, and now, my Ipad can't find Itunes

I bought a new laptop with Windows 7. My computer name in Windows has changed, and now, my Ipad can't find Itunes, and Itunes can't find my Ipad. [email protected]

Ok, if reinstalling iTunes as suggested above does not resolve the issue of iTunes recognising the iPad then try this -
Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, make sure your lead /connections are no faulty.
Fourthly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.
Failing all that, see here - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
And failing all that put the device into Recovery mode. See here and note the paragraph 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page -
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/itunes/
As for making your new laptop your 'home computer' follow these instructions -
    1. Without connecting your iPad to your computer -
    A) Install iTunes / make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed.
    B) Go to the Store tab and click on "Authorise This Computer".
    C) Go to Edit, click on Preferences [iTunes and Preferences on Macs] and click on Devices. Put a check mark in the box next to "Prevent  iPods/iPhones/iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK and close iTunes.
    2.  Connect your iPad to your computer -
    A) Start iTunes (it will not start automatically because of the action at 1(C) above).
    B) Right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select "Transfer purchases".
    C) When the transfer has completed, right click on your iPad again and select "Backup".
    D) When the backup has completed, left click on your iPad, click on the Apps tab, and put a check mark in the box next to "Sync Apps", and then click on "Apply" (bottom right).
    E) Unless you want to always do a manual sync (as I do), go back to Edit, Preferences [iTunes and Preferences on Macs] and uncheck the box next to "Prevent your iPod.....".
    F) Finally, on your iPad, check that everything is syncing properly. If not, go back to iTunes and check all settings.
NB You should not lose any apps. However, any 'purchased' missing apps can be downloaded again FOC. As with updates, this must be done with the Apple ID under which they were originally 'purchased'.

  • Various Errors in connection to iTunes on my new HP Laptop with Win7 64bit

I tried to connect my iPhone 3G 16GB with my new HP Pavilion dv7 (intel core i7) Laptop with Windows 7 64 Bit and it fails...
While iTunes synch appears the first error message:
"iTunes was not possible to connect with this iPhone because of an unknown Error. (0xE8000065)"
on the next try i had an other error message:
"It was not possible to synch this iPhone because of an internal device error"
After that the capacity bar below in iTunes says that my iPhone only has 4 GB memory...
The next try ends with other message:
"Not was possible to synch this iPhone. The connection to this device was aborted because of a timeout."
--> then I was trying to synchronize the iphone with my old pc --> also fails.
after that my iPhone was destroyed, every backup that I had was not possible to restore. The last posibility was to restore my iPhone back to factory settings on my old PC and install all the applications again. (all app settings lost...)
after that the iPhone was working correct.
What can be the problem here? I have uninstalled all of the itunes and apple stuff on my laptop to install it again, but this also doesn't help.
    Anyone can help me?

Issues such as this may have a number of different causes. The first error (0xE) has an Apple support document to view http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3221
The timeout error could be caused by a conflict between the security and firewall software you are using and blocking connections, you can look at this document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125
When you say that you uninstalled and installed again, did you follow all of the steps in this Apple document? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 You need to make sure that you follow all of the steps.
See if any of these in combination can assist you.

  • HT1925 itunes library cannot be saved not enough memory left

When playing a newly purchased movie on Itunes a pop up appears.  Itunes library cannot be saved not enough memory left.  The movie does not play correctly, movie flashed like a strobe light, video does not match audio.  Itunes is current and up to date.  Using Windows 8 with a HD screen.  Other Itunes movies play correctly.

    Hi Ladies, and Gents
This is webtool kit problem if you have a rather large library in my case a little over 250GB and you play music as you work Itunes goes out and tries use the Genious recomandations this is a great feature but the problem is after awile all of those requests and threads leaves Itunes in a less than stable state.
If you are running in Jukebox mode ie just listening to music hide the Geinus Recomandations it should improve your listening experince under Windows 7 64bit.
Good Luck to everyone I hope this helps ot.

I had an HP laptop with Itunes on it and kept my library on an external hard drive. I had a 160gb classic Ipod.
My computer died and i am buying a new one (mac is out of budget)
When I get my new computer, obviously I will download Itunes. My Ipod still has all the music on it and the external hard drive is ok.
I don't want to "erase" or lose any information when I sync with a new itunes that is "empty"
What are the steps? After I download Itunes and set the folder location to my external harddrive what is next? Will Itunes recognize my IPOD? Will it load the music/list from my ipd or external into itunes?
    Thanks in advance

  • How do I combine an iTunes library on an external hard drive (laptop) with an iTunes library on an external hard drive on my PC?

How can I combine the iTunes library on an external hard drive (hooked to laptop) with  the iTunes library on an external hard drive (hooked to PC) so that both external HD's and both laptop and PC have all the music on each one?

no need to create a secondary library - too troublesome, IMHO. you can spread your library over as many drives you can connect to your Mac (wired or wirelessly):
    iTunes > preferences > advanced.
point iTunes media folder location to the external
on the same tab, ensure the copy files ... when adding option is checkmarked
    okay out of preferences
highlight the content to be moved in iTunes and right-click
select consolidate files from the pop-up menu
wait for the process to finish
when done, you may delete the original files from your boot drive.
alternatively, you could move the whole shabang to the external HD:
copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media folder) from <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music to the external, launch iTunes while holding the option(⌥) key, click on choose library when prompted, and select the iTunes folder you copied to the external.
when done, be sure to point iTunes media folder location to the external so that new additions to your library will be put there. also, you need to make sure the external is mounted on your desktop before you fire up iTunes.
