  • Bought new computer, Won't let me transfer songs from Ipod to new computer?

Is this possible? I have several hundred songs on my Ipod/other computer (desktop). I bought a new Dell laptop and I was hoping I could transfer all the songs on my new computer. It did let me transfer the songs that were purchsed through Itunes but not the others that I downloaded from CD's. When I connect the Ipod to the new computer it shows no songs on it.
Can I just connect my laptop to my desktop and tranfer songs or is there a way to trasfer the songs from the Ipod to the new laptop?

The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    SharePod Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows

There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • New computer won't let me log in

I bought a MacBook Pro from a friend. After I transferred all the files over from my old MacBook Pro the new computer won't let me log in. It says my password is incorrect. What should I do?

I have the disks. She gave them to me when I bought the computer.
    Here's what I'm wondering...
Since her computer was set to factory settings... and I immediately transferred my MacBook Pro over to her MacBook Pro without first doing all the updates on hers to get it up to the same level of Mac os 10.8 - would that be what's causing the problem or would all those updates have transferred over in the transfer?
Right now there are 4 installs running on the computer (the one we bought). I figure I'll let them run and see if the applications are back afterwards. If they aren't then perhaps I need to reset to factory settings again, go in and do the updates and THEN transfer over my old computer.
    What do you think?

  • IPod Touch 5th gen won't let me put songs on it?

Soo I bought a new iPod the other day and I tried downloading my purchased songs onto it from the iTunes on it and it said they were downloading....but when I go to my music nothing is there. I have tried doing it at least five times and nothing shows up. It also won't let me put songs from my iTunes on the computer on it. It just doesn't show up on my iPod. When I go on iTunes and plug in my iPod it says I have like over 400 songs on it...but like I said, when I go to music on my iPod...there's nothing. Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • ITunes on a new computer won't sync music or ringtones to my iPhone

    Hi,
I recently bought a new computer (Acer touch screen Aspire V5) which uses Windows 8. I downloaded the latest iTunes (11.0.4.4)
I authorised my computer to my iTunes account and was able to download my iTunes purchases and add music from my old computer and CDs etc.
When I plugged in my iPhone 4s it said that it was sync'd to another computer and would I like to change to this one. I downloaded my phone content and said 'yes'
Now when I go to sync my phone it starts the process. At the top of iTunes it says 'Syncing phone Steps 1-5'. It goes thru steps 1 and 2 of preparing to sync and backing up phone then starts step 3 of 5 preparing apps, then stops. No error message or explanation comes up.
I have clicked 'sync only checked songs and videos' in options and tried with it unticked as well.
I have tried deauthorising the computer and authorising it again.
The 'restrictions' setting is off on my phone.
I have run the diagnostics test thru iTunes help and it says the device attached is able to sync.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks, Hollie

    Hi HB3207!
I have a couple of suggestions for you to attempt to resolve this issue. First, I would try re-creating your iTunes library following the instructions listed here:
iTunes: How to re-create your iTunes library and playlists
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1451
You may also need to simply try restarting your phone and attempting to sync again after a restart. Information on completing this can be found here:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

  • Why wont my computer won't let me put my apps on my iphone? It states my computer is not authorized, even though when I clicked to authorize it it said it already was.

Not to long ago my computer Hard Drive died, and I got a new one and set my computer up to run. I installed Itunes and recently got a update for my iPhone to 5.0. This took my Music and Apps off my phone. I put my Music back on the phone with no problem, but when I went to place the Apps back on my phone, It told me my computer was not athorized to put it on and told me how to athorize it. I went and athuroized it and it told me it was already athorized. So I went to try agian and still will not put the Apps on my phone. What do I do?

    Hey CarlyR_,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues related to iTunes Store authorization. The following resources may help to resolve these issues:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases

  • Still won't let me put songs on iPod because I'm "unauthorized"

I did what I was told to do; go and authorize the new computer, but it is still coming up with the error message that "items could not be copied to the iPod because you are not authorize to play them on this computer."

If you right-click on one of the files that don't play and choose 'Get Info', it should show somewhere in the list what account the song was purchased from. If it is a different ID/email address, try authorizing that address too.

  • Had to install on a new computer, won't let me activate.

Recently the computer I do all my work on had a physical hard drive failure, and it is no longer functioning. In order to do my job I have to have Acrobat Standard on my workstation, but it will not allow me to use the activation/registration code with the software CD. Is it possible to deactivate the authorization on the old computer somehow, even though it is essentially in the trash heap, so to speak ( I will be cannibalizing it for the RAM, etc.) so that I can use the copy the company has on the new PC? It's been hell to get this thing configured on the fly while keeping up with my normal responsibilities, all I need to do now is have Acrobat fully functional so that I can perform my duties past the 23 days I have left on the trial period. Any help or recommendations on who I should contact at Adobe to get this straightened out would be appreciated.

On the off chance, perhaps this will help:

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"if u have ur songs on ipod then do the following"
Did you read the first sentence of his post? The songs were deleted from the iPod when he connected to an empty iTunes library.
    harvarddude,
There are no options other than to try some 3rd party data recovery software for the iPod as mentioned in this post.

Of course, if you have all these songs/videos on another computer, then it's simply a matter of reloading them from there.
Btw, if you are going to use the iPod with more than one computer on a regular basis, here's how.

  • ITunes 10.7.0.21 won't let me search songs in library by "KIND" anymore.

Is there anyway to bring this back?  No matter what columns I have selected under VIEW OPTIONS, the search bar only checks by ALL, ARTIST, ALBUM, COMPOSE, or SONG.

I have this same problem, however, my search feature consistently works as long as I do not input more than one character. For example: if I search for "ani" it finds Ani Difranco but I won't be able to click any of the search results. If I search for "a" I will receive search results that are clickable. I am also running the latest iTunes version and cannot resolve this issue.

  • I just downloaded the new version of iTunes 10 and now it won't let me drag and drop any files from my computer.

I just downloaded the new version of iTunes 10 and now it won't let me drag and drop any files from my computer into my iTunes. It lets me play the song from the folder in my computer and then it opens with iTunes and plays the song all the way through, but then if I try to play it again, it says the file cannot be located. So then I go to locate and go to the folder and all that and select it and nothing happens.

Not sure whether for instance you initially had a Yahoo optimised version of Firefox, and have now overwritten it with an official Mozilla version. Although the Mozilla version should NOT add unwanted features, but the Yahoo version may well do.
If you merely need to find the Yahoo emails page quickly just add it as a bookmark or as a bookmark on the Bookmarks toolbar and make sure that is visible.
Clicking the star icon on the location bar whilst looking at your emails will bookmark the page.

    * [[Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window]]
I do not use Yahoo myself, and am not sure what add-ons are available. You could search yourself using
    * FirefoxButton -> add-ons
