Itunes on new PC nighmare!
I have recently bought a new lap top and before this was running two ipods from same PC. I used to open up the different librarys by holding down the shift key. What has happend is I seem to have successfully transferred the music files and have the two libraries but I cannot download any new tunes I buy as it doesn't seem to recognise either of the ipod ID's. Can anyone throw some light on this?
I have just purchased a new iphone for myself and am reluctant to set this up in case I run in to problems.

Uh, no it doesn't.
Purchasing from the iTunes store has absolutely nothing to do with the iPod.
You may need to enter you iTunes ID and password to purchase from the iTunes store.
I'm kind of lost over what you are doing.
Why do you have two libraries?
Did you get everything onto the new computer?
Is the new computer authorized for your iTunes account (not the iPod)?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

I transfered music from my ipod to a new itunes library (new PC). The music plays in itunes but when I sync my ipod and try to drag songs from the itunes library to the ipod it wont load. It shows a circle with aline through it.

Cheers Alexandrenzsimply go to the iTunes homepage, scroll right down to the bottom and on the right side of the page you should see different columns of options. Click the 'Change Country' option and follow the instructions from there on.

If you connect your ipod to your computer then look in the hidden folder labeled "iPod_Control" . (This is on a Mac version, but i think it's the same for Windows) and in "Music" is all your music mixed up in different folders. Just drag the MUSIC folder onto itunes then BAM! It's done ;D

i can't see my purchased apps in itunes on new ipad mini. when I go into the itunes store. It shows nothing. I haven't changed my ID or country of purchase. It shows that I would have to rebuy them when I go into the store. Is there something in settings on Itunes I need to change? I do not have cloud.
Yes I am looking in the app store. When I look in Itunes on my computer and look at purchased apps it is there. And when I go on my other device and look at apps purchased all apps are there.
The new ipad doesn't show any apps purchased when I click on apps purchased and when I search the app store it doesn't show it is purchased. I am wondering if I am just missing something...need to turn something on in options or something. Never had this problem with previous ipad when I set it up. -
Just downloaded iTunes to new dell laptop, tried syncing my iPhone get an error message: "this iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". What is the issue, had this phone over a year??
I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck! -

Details: I have an ipod touch. I think my dad accidentally deleted some of the software that is required to run itunes so now it won't open, or recognize the ipod when its connected to the computer. When I click on the itunes icon (which is still on my desktop) to try to open it, I get an error message that reads:
"Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run itunes. Please uninstall itunes and then install itunes again."
I would do this however I just got a new laptop and want to move all my programs including itunes onto it instead. If I try to just connect the ipod to the new laptop and download the newest version of itunes, I'm afraid it will delete my old songs already on the ipod. I know people have had this concern before but the answer is always to back up your songs first. How am I supposed to do this if the itunes is deleted/won't open on my old computer?
*Your help is so so appreciated*!!!What you really want is the files, not the music really, just the system files so that when you reinstall iTunes you can replace the system files with the ones you backed up, thus saving your settings from your previous installation. As for the music, after you reinstall, you can backup your music from your iPod before you sync it to the new iTunes installation, that way it insures you not to lose all your music. I deleted half my music by accident from in my iTunes Music hard drive that I have separately so as to be able to keep all my music in case of a computer crash, which we both know is a drawback of having a Windows-based PC. Where you want to go is first go to Edit then Preferences then Devices and make sure you have Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically checked, then you can rest assured that you won't lose the music already on the iPod. Then you go to File then Library then Back Up To Disc. This is of course after you have iTunes reinstalled. Just save the system folders with all the system settings from your documents/music/iTunes section. Then uninstall and reinstall. Then transfer the backed up system files back to that folder and overwrite the new files that were created.

Old laptop died, got latest itunes on new laptop and recovered all music from external hard drive but ipad2 not being recognised as a device when plugged in so can't sync? Do i reset my ipad2?!!!! Its only taken 7 months to get to this point.

It sounds like you are getting an error stating that the iTunes installer cannot be run on your computer. I would try downloading the 64 bit version of iTunes from here:
