HI, I have used some times itunes on windows xp and plug my ip4s. All worked and downloaded some app from my phone to pc. Now when I opne itunes, it will not recognize my phone, also if I'm logged. I have re installed itunes, but no change? Someone help? ty

Hi Im trying to access music on my iphone via itunes loaded on to my windows pc. I am running the latest version of itunes and the ios on the phone.
I have the "remote" app loaded on my phone.When I run the app it advises me to open itunes and select my phone from the devices list. A passcode is presented which, I assume, I have to enter on itunes running on my pc.
However when I open itunes and click on devices im only given the option to sync, backup, transfer purchases or restore.
If I click on the iphone icon which now appears on the top right hand side of the latest itunes, it gives me lots of info about the phone.
However there isnt anywhere that is obvious, at least to me, to me as to where I should enter the passcode.
If the app is supposed to automatically find the itunes library, then that isnt working.
Any help/guidance gratefuly received.

No, you only get one download from Apple. They don't store your music library on their servers.
You need to get the files on both PCs, and add them into the itunes library window.

I plug in iphone4s & ipad2 to itunes and it recognizes camera & will charge but no device appears in itunes?

The issue seems similar to that in the first box though it would be nice to have the complete error message. Tearing out all iTunes components and reinstalling as given in the second box should resolve.

My iPhone4s just updated itself yesterday and I don't have any sound for my music or videos. The speaker works for phone calls, SIRI and voicemail. The phone is unmuted. My phone is only 2 weeks old!

ITunes for Windows freezes when importing a library. I have a large but not huge library of mostly iTunes purchased music on two authorized computers and would like to sync the files, export the library as a playlist, and import it on the other computer.

I am running iTunes for Windows 10.2.2 on Windows 7 Home. I have my iTunes library on both this computer and another authorized machine running Windows 7 Professional. I have a large but not enormous library, as I'm one of those people who doesn't pirate, use torrents, borrow from a dozen friends, or whatever other shades of gray you might imagine. It's mostly iTunes purchases with my old CD collection imported. I have started using the following technique to sync my libraries between my two authorized computers, an ability which you can probably all agree should one day be added to iTunes -- that would be different from Home Sharing, because the music would be stored locally and thus available on the road. With the added benefit of the entire library being backed up on the other machine in real-time. Anyway, when I switch from my desktop to laptop and vice versa, I use the following technique:
Connect both machines to the home network. One machine is the "Active" machine, which has most recently been used for iTunes media, purchases, ratings, etc.
On the "Active" machine, File-->Library-->Export. Save the file as "Library.xml" on the shared drive of the other machine.
Right-click "Library.xml" where it's been saved, and open another file that has two lines in it: The root path of the iTunes library on one machine and the root path of the iTunes library on the other machine.
Do a find/replace all in Notepad to make the library XML file point to where the files will be saved on the "Inactive" machine.
Run Microsoft SyncToy to synchronize the files between both music libraries; the most recent files win. This avoids copying the entire multi-gigabyte library over the network.
Open iTunes on the "Inactive" machine.
Go to Music, Select All, Delete. Keep files.
Do the same for Movies, Music Videos.
Go down to Playlists, select the top one, hold down the delete button until they're all gone.
File-->Library-->Import Playlist. Choose the "Library.xml" file you saved.
First a status bar comes up that says, "Importing library." It has the continually-scrolling progress bar, not the one that starts on the left and steadily creeps right. Then after about 30 seconds, that clears out. Wait. Typically a few minutes. Eventually a status bar will pop up saying something like, "Evaluating gapless playback information," or something like that.
The "Inactive" computer is now the "Active" computer. I can now play my library, it has all my playlists and metadata from the other machine.
Delete all the duplicate playlists named "Music," "Genius," "Purchased," and "iTunes DJ."
Well, I just upgraded to iTunes 10.2.2 a few days ago and tried to do this again like I've done it dozens of times before. Now, iTunes just goes unresponsive after the library import. It got through the "Importing library" bar to the long wait and stopped. I can still multiprocess and use other programs, but iTunes is hovering back there not responding to clicks. Task Manager doesn't seem to think iTunes is using my CPU, and I don't see my hard drive rattling. Any thoughts on why iTunes might hang up when importing a large library?
... Also, please help lobby Apple to come up with a network sync tool built into iTunes for a user with multiple authorized computers. Something different than Home Sharing so I can pull my laptop off the network and still have the synced library with me. And all my metadata changes will sync. The technique I use seems a little kludgey, don't you think?

iTunes isn't an editor. You need an app that's intended for editing audio files, like Adobe Audition (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html) or Audacity (free in the App Store).

Error message when installing iTunes on Windows 7, "Apple Application Support was not found, Error 2"

I can successfully download iTunes on my PC, but receive an error message when I try to install the file: "Apple Application Support was not found... Error 2" I've tried deleting the file and reinstalling it to no avail. Any ideas?

Ipod not recognized by itunes or windows.

Hi there, I have an 80gb Ipod classic which is not recognized by itunes or windows. The "Use iTunes to restore" message appears on my ipod but when I connect it to my pc itunes does not recognize it. Windows shows a message informing me that I need to format the drive but is then unable to do so. Ipod will not go into disk mode either. I have tried reinstalling itunes and using the ipod in a different usb drive. I have also connected it to a mac and a windows pc but nothing happens. I have tried to use the diagnostics mode on the ipod but that will not work either. I am wondering if my ipod's hard drive is corrupted.

Problems re-installing itunes in Windows Vista, error message- "The installer encountered problems before iTunes could be configued. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again."

Ok, so have tried again and again over days to install itunes again but keep getting same message, when reading through apple support I deleted and uninstalled old itunes, quicktime, bonjour, apple support etc folders from system but still no change. I have no idea what to do next?

ITunes and Windows 8

Using it on a tablet that had Win 7 (and it ran fine). Switched to Windows 8 when RTM came out (tablet certified for Windows 8). When I rented a couple of movies after about 10 minutes of watching the movie would play horribly slow and the sound would cut out. Restarting iTunes fixes it for about another 10 minutes.
Any word on iTunes and Windows 8? Apple has had enought time to test (with the dev and consumer previews being out for several months and RTM was at least a month ago) and deploy a version ready for Windows 8 at launch date.....

How to fix applepushservice.dll issues for downloading iTunes on Windows 7 64 bit

I recently had iTunes crash on my home PC, Windows 7 64-bit. I have tried several attempts to uninstall and reinstall the program and it still does not work and I receive error messages. The latest: The program can't start because ApplePushService.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem. Problem is, the articles that I have seen state this is an Unknown source and my firewall will not allow it to be installed. The original error was a Windows Error 7 (registry & .dll issues). Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

How do I download quicktime & itunes on windows 7, 64 bit? My computer doesn't want to except them.

Remotely control the ITunes on Windows 7 64 bit PC with the new IPad

With the latest version of ITunes for both Win7 and the new IPad, I'm only able to use the new IPad to remotely control the ITunes on Windows 7 64 bit PC through wired connection ( ethernet cable ) to the wireless router. As soon as I connect my PC through wireless connection, the new IPad can not find my libraries.
Is this a known issue or am I missing some settings?
