ITunes on XP unsupport Vunerable?

Hello Friends,
I am on an XP machine and now unsupported, what can I use for a calendar that iTunes will sync with?
I had thought of trying to use iCloud, (in the clouds), meaning not on my machine, but how can that work? For instance I have always thought that using iCloud this way was strictly to have a backup of my iPhone 4s calendar in the clouds.
Then I thought of putting iCloud on my machine, but unless I am missing something, would that not be the same as using my Outlook 2010 as it would be susceptible to all the XP breaches, correct..?
Any advice or suggestions would be more that appreciated.
Thank you Friends.

Hi David,
Since you are using iCloud to sync your calendar, you could also use the icloud.com website for your email needs if you wish.  However, this would involve creating an email address that ends in @icloud.com.   You could forward your existing email account to the @icloud address.  Doing this will enable you to send and receive emails from the web at www.icloud.com.  The email activity from this email address will be synced to your iPhone.  Here's some additional information:
iCloud: Set up an @icloud.com email address

I hope this information helps ....

  • Cant install itunes due to "Unsupported 16 bit application" error

    Hey everyone.
A couple weeks ago my iTunes got messed up after my pc froze. Since then, iTunes will pop up with "installing" when my iPod is charging, but nothing happens.
I have tried to re-install with the latest version and with old versions, but I keep getting an error that says "Unsupported 16 bit application."
Is the anyway I can fix this and get iTunes to install?
    Thnaks for your help.

If I remember correctly and if you do some research 16-bit execution is not supported on 64-bit Windows.
See results of a Google for
16 bit application on 64 bit windows 7  Read the post from the first link
    How can I run 16 bit programs in Windows 7 64-bit? :
    "16-bit programs can't run on 64-bit windows 7 natively."

  • Apple iTunes store in unsupported countries?

Is there any way possible to make an iTunes account in a country that currently does not have their own iTunes store?
I am planning on buying the new MacBook Air 13", but there seems to be no viable option to legally acquire apps and music from any of the Apple stores. What use is a device that cannot be updated?!?
Has anyone successfully done this? If so, how?

    1. No.
    2. Check the developer's sites for the software you'd like, and buy music from sources other than Apple.

  • Push free apps

    Hello
We have download a free app on iTunes with our Apple-ID. After that we want push this free app to all iPhone's over the Profilemanager. We can push the app to the device, but we i open the app on the device, then i will ask for the Apple-ID, and i must enter our Apple-ID when i try it with the owner Apple-ID then it's not going.!
Is it possible to push a free app to a device so that the user can use your own Apple-ID? Or what is the best way to push free apps to a device.
    Thank you very much
    Greeting
PS: We're in switzerland we don't have the VPP-Program.

the apps your pushing out are associated with whatever itunes account you used to download them in itunes
    Since your not VPP
you can't download an app on one itunes account and use it on another, but you can use the same account you used to download the app, this makes no differance to the user.
ios 6 allows users to update apps without login/password, this can be a good and bad thing
to speed up deployment you can use apple configutator to install a free app and then configure the device with the same itunes account you used to download it- the company itunes account
you can get problems if users sync devices to itunes with their own itunes account
apps installed on a different itunes account (the company itunes account) may be unauthorized
when this happens apps installed with a different itunes account won't open.
it's easy to fix, delete any app that's associated with the company itunes account
and reinstall using with the the same itunes account used to push apps out (the company itunes account)
users can still use their personal itunes accounts
you just have to logout of the company itunes account in the app store on the devices
as far as I know it's not what PM app pushing is supposed to be used for. it was primarily designed to be used for pushing in house apps not itunes apps. using it to push itunes apps is unsupported although it works it may break at any time with Apple updates

  • Latest Itunes update has ruined itunes and rendered ipod unsupported.

itunes updated and after having to go through a mess to fix it (ie) I had to delete all my apple related programs and reinstall itunes (11.1.4.62) to get it to work at all, now my ipod says "unsupported accessory is not supported". How do I fix this so that my Ipod connects to Itunes again?

  • ITunes Producer errors for unsupported mime and multiple root file

I've been working on this for hours and can't seem to find an answer for why these keep coming up:
ERROR ITMS-9000: "Unsupported mime type for 9781592996322.epub: null" at Book (MZItmspBookPackage)
ERROR ITMS-9000: "META-INF/container.xml in 9781592996322.epub must contain one and only one root file reference." at Book (MZItmspBookPackage)
Does ANYONE know what the first one means? I'm looking at the container.xml and I only have one root file reference there, so I'm confused as to why it's saying that it contains more than one. HELP!!!
Detach, to answer your question, I compressed the epub using InDesign.
Thanks, in advance, for any help anyone can provide!!!

Hi! I have the same problem, and wasted much time to resolve it too. I still not resolved it completely, but found something new: when I've run Transporter with option -m verify, i.e. in checking mode, I've seen in log the next message:
    <internal_error>Unable to unzip:c:\_importmanager\_publish\20110811_145116\0\ibooks\9785428318173.itmsp\9 785428318173.epub</internal_error>
I don't have an idea why it cannot unzip and continuing to investigate. Hope it could help you.

  • After upgrading to 7.2, iTunes flags over 100 MP3s as unsupported file type

After upgrading to 7.2, iTunes flags 101 of my MP3s noting that these songs can't be copied to my iPod because it doesn't support the format. All of the songs sync'd and played just fine before the 7.2 iTunes upgrade. Carumba! Anyone have any ideas?

Check your detailed version of iTunes: Help menu > About iTunes. If you have iTunes 7.2.0.34, you might want to try re-downloading iTunes and installing it. Apple has released an updated (7.2.0.35) version.

  • How to register on iTunes from unsupported state from Apple

I cannot register or download anything. I cannot buy anything. Why doesn't apple use international for other users. How am I supposed to download some apps for itouch?
    Message was edited by: L!K$

Apple can only have stores in countries where they have the rights to sell content. If they can't get the rights to sell movies or music or apps in Kosovo, no store. Sorry.
    Best of luck.

  • How can I get an HD movie from iTunes store to play on original iPad

I recently purchased an HD movie--Brave--from the iTunes store.  I'm trying to play on my original iPad (iPad 1), but iTunes refuses to synch it because it says it is an unsupported format.  The movie is in 1080p format.  I typically get both HD and SD formats when I purchase movies, but iTunes no longer downloads the SD version automatically when I purchase the HD version.  I attempted to get an SD version from the store, but it said I already purchased the movie and instructed me to check the downloads.  There is no SD download pending and a check for new downloads was fruitless.
Can someone confirm that the original iPad is unable to play HD video?  I imagine it is the 1080p that's the problem.  Can anyone confirm that 720p would work?  Is there no longer a means to get both HD and SD when purchasing a movie from the iTunes store?  If there is, how?
    Thanks for your help.
    Jamie

You can get the SD or 720p version by:
    Open iTunes 11
Click iTunes in menu bar > select Preferences...
    Click on the Store tab
Change When downloading High Definition videos, prefer dropdown to 720p > click OK
Click on the iTunes Store button
    Click Purchased link
    Click Movies tab
You should now see a download icon for the movies you already have 1080p version of.
Click on this download icon to download the 720p version.
This will put a 720p version in the same folder on your hard drive as the 1080p version.  If you have iTunes setup to play 1080p when available, it will play the 1080p version.  When you connect your iPad 1, it will sync the 720p version.
Don't forget to change your preference back to 1080p so you can continue to get the higher quality version.

  • Can not add movies to the iTunes Library

I have an iMAC running iTunes 10.4 on s install of Lion.  I have had this problem with previous versions of OS/X and iTunes. I have the exact same problem on Windows.
I just can not import a movie to the library.  I've used File>Import as well as drag&drop. In both cases, nothing happens; no message of any kind, no progress bar, nothing.  The movie is not copied.  I have tried multiple file types (avi, mp4, mv4 etc) with the same problem.  I can import music fine. Just no movies.
One time, a couple days ago, I used the drag and drop and worked; I have no idea why; Trying to import the same movie results in the same 'nothing happens'.
Any thoughts/suggestions on how to get this working?  It is so annoying that there is absolutely no message of any kind popping up anywhere to indicate what the heck is going on.
I'm guessing it may be something to do with unsupported file types. But why no message, and why it did work just a couple of days ago?
    Thanks.

To address at least part of the problem, confirm is that the videos are in a format iTunes can accept and play. AVI is not one of them, for instance. See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2729?viewlocale=en_US
Note that there are non-standard formats that still use the .mp4 file extension. iTunes supports only industry-standard MPEG-4 movies, not the offshoots created by some encoders such as Microsoft's.
Why a movie that worked previously is not working now, though, I don't know. Just to confirm, will that movie play in QuickTime Player?
    Regards.

    Hello,
    Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
        *  Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
    minimum system requirements
        * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
    Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.
Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

There are workarounds if the 867MHz CPU is the only hangup...

So we know more about it...

  • ITunes 11.0.2.26 deletes my library everytime I open it

I am running iTunes version 11.0.2.26 on a Dell PC with Windows 7 Home Premium. Ever since last night, iTunes will delete my entire music library, which includes my playlists and settings, even though all of the media files are still in the iTunes media folder on my hard drive. Each time I redownload my music off of iCloud and close iTunes, the library deletes itself again. It also deletes itself after I sync my iPhone 3G to my computer. Today, after my library was again deleted, I pluged in my iPhone and transferred my purchases, which put my music back on my library, but I opened it later and it was still gone. This has only happened after iTunes updated itself to version 11.0.2.26.
This is really annoying because I can't listen to my music on my phone or make new purchases and sync my phone.
Also, ever since this started happening, my album covers on the lock screen of my iPhone 3G are on the wrong song. For example, Song 1 shows the album cover for Song 2 and vice versa. I am not sure if this is an unrelated issue, but it just started after the above iTunes issue started.
Does anyone have any advice for how I can get iTunes to act normally again?
    Thanks!
P.S. I'm not sure if this is the cause of the issue, but the library started to delete itself after I completed a malware scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

The very same thing is happening to me.  I have iTunes 11.0.2.25 running on a Windows 7 PC.   I do run AVG and will disable it for now to see if that helps.
The other thing that started happening at the same time is that when I'm in Windows Explorer, if I click on "Music"  in the Libraries area, my music files come up, but there's a message at the top of the page that says "Some library features are unavailable due to unsupported library locations.  Click here to learn more..."
I wonder if for some reason the iTunes folder has become inaccessible, so iTunes recreates a folder with nothing in it.   I have to manually "add folder to library" in iTunes every time I open it up now.   I only use iTunes to download & listen to podcasts, so I don't have to worry about purchased songs disappearing.  This all started happening in the last 10 days or so.
