  • TS1424 itunes only downloaded part of a song I purchased. How do I correct that?

itunes only downloaded part of a song I purchased. How do I fix it or get a refund?

Other people have been having similar problems with songs for a few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting it from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • Why is itunes only downloading the first, fifth and ninth songs from any CD?

Why is itunes only downloading the first, fifth and ninth songs from any CD?

Did you perhaps intentionally select just those three tracks to import from one CD a while back, and is iTunes now remembering that selection? Do you see checkboxes against the list of tracks on the CD? If not Go to Edit > Preferences > General, and check the box for Show list checkboxes. CTRL-Click an empty checkbox to check all of them in one go.
If that isn't the issue are you getting any error messages during the import? Will other software (WMP/MediaMonkey/CDEX etc.) rip the CD instead?

  • Itunes only downloads to about 72% and locks up

I can only get itunes to download roughly 72% before it locks up and does nothing. I have tried to remove all the apple related programs as suggested. Seems like the program will load then after hours...meaning at least 24 hrs...it just gets locked up. Any ideas out there?

    hi chris!
When I'm importing CDs, my task manager shows iTunes using 97-99% of my system's memory, effectively locking it up for periods of time.
hmmm. does your PC have dual cores or dual processors? if so, check on this possibility:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302869
(it's much more common to have itunes quit under these circumstances, but it's probably still worth checking up on.)
if no joy there, we'd better check up on some other usual suspects (even though you can actually import sometimes these possibilities are still worth checking on):
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93453
... and these resources might be helpful with that:

    http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=607642
for a rarer possibility, see the discussion in this thread (view all before deciding whether or not to proceed with this one):

and if all else fails, let's try an experiment. we've been getting a cluster of unusual problems lately (often associated with 100% CPU usage) that seem to be associated with security software interfering with writing of library files and use of music files in the My Music folder. some of that sort of activity goes on during imports. so try an experimental import with your antispyware and/or antivirus switched off. does the import go through more quickly and without the excessive CPU usage under those circumstances?
    keep us posted.

  • Itunes 10.5 wont launch but every other version will

As in the title, wanting to update to ios5 needs itunes 10.5 but once installed it wont launch. Its not in the processes, and so far every other trick in the book suggested on the internet (clean uninstall/reinstall, deleting the preferences file i forget the name of, cleaning out the temp folder) nor do i have a virus/malware and have tried with every type of anti-malware uninstalled so there could be no problem and finally ive tried the whole msconfig start-up lark to no joy. Quick time works fine as well.
But its not a case of itunes wont work full stop, any version before works perfectly fine without any glitches.
    Any ideas at all?

oh also, theres no error messages either

  • When I went to download a previously purchased album from an old computer, iTunes only downloaded 1 track and said the rest of the album was never purchased

This has happened for a lot of my purchased albums, and I don't feel it's fair to have to repurchase something I've rightfully already paid for.

Go back and download the ones that are missing. It is possible that the some of the downloads that completed are corrupt if the connection was encountering problems while they were downloading. It may be best to delete them and start from scratch.
Don't find them in the iTunes store, download them from here:
iTunes > More > Purchased > TV Shows

  • How come itunes only downloaded part of a song?

I bought a a couple of albums off of itunes and on one song (that i know of) on each album only plays part of the song. For example: if you have a 3:45 song it will only play 2:35 of the song and then it cuts off and moves onto the next song on the album. Can anybody help with this problem. I want my moneys worth. Thanks.

Delete the tracks from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track files to the Trash. Then download the tracks again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the tracks persist, go here:
    iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • "Update All Apps" in iTunes only downloads one at a time.

From Library / Apps (left pane), clicking "Update All Apps" button (bottom-right), I'm prompted for my Apple ID password, I enter it, it's accepted…and only one app update downloads. I click the button again, and the next downloads.
    Why don't all updates download?
    iTunes for Mac 11.2.2 (3)
    2011 13" MacBook Pro
    Mac OS X 9.3 Mavericks

With some notable exceptions like audio apps that actually run in the background, most apps on the task bar are not actually running.  They are not actually doing anything, just sitting there in a suspended state until the next time you execute them by bringing them up on the screen.  There really is no need nor reason to be constantly clearing them away.

  • TS1362 iTunes only downloaded half of my song. I paid for this, how do I get the full song?

How can I retrieve the end of my downloaded song? This has happened to two of my songs and it cuts off approx 1 minute from the end of each song.
My computer did not freeze, nor did my iTunes programe. Everything was working as normal and I did not realise it had been cut off until I listened to the full songs some time later. Help?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • Bought a cd on itunes only downloaded 5 full songs of the 17

bought a cd on itunes and out of 17 songs it downloaded 5 full songs and 12 half songs

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • ITunes 8.01 wont launch because of album art problem?

So I installed iTunes 8 on my mac (leopard) and it starts to build some new album art library. I guess there is a corrupted image which makes iTunes quit enexpectedly and somehow it relaunches itself; it keeps looping so crash, relaunch, crash, relaunch etc. Force quitting is impossible, I need to complete shutdown my mac so it stops.
Anyone seen a similar problem? Is there a way to remove the album art from your library? Also sometimes I see this: The app. Genredetection is quit unexpectedly. Anyone can help????

PS: I just found out: while looping I get a huge amount of processes called Generedetection in my activity monitor. When I kill all of these, and then kill iTunes process, the looping stops.

  • HELP Itunes wont launch after upgrading

I downloaded the latest Itunes, and then tried to launch it.
I keep getting the following message
"error getting file security :\C\program files\get last error 5
I have even tried to remove I tunes through the add & remove section in the control panel, but this also does not allow me to do this and i get the same message.
    Can someone help ???

I just bought a new iPod Nano and installed iTunes 7.02 sucessfully and it wont launch at all...it simply sits there.
    some preliminary questions.
are you getting an error message? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
or are you getting no error messages whatsoever when you try to launch itunes?
if you're getting no error messages whatsoever, do you just see the wee hourglass for a few seconds, and then nothing? if so, do you also have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on that PC?
also, reboot the PC. bring up your Task Manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an "itunes.exe" process appear in the Processes tab? if so, does it persist in there or does it disappear after a few seconds?

  • ITunes empty error box, wont launch.

iTunes wont launch and I get an empty error box, there's nothing in it except 'ok'. I am able to play songs from the iTunes folder but only choosing  quicktime player, if I choose iTunes the same empty box pops up, same result when I plug my iPod. The iTunes menu bar is also empty, showing only the word 'iTunes'.
    Any suggestions?
    MacBookPro
    OS X 10.6.8
    iTunes
    11.0.1

Yes, I took it to the Apple Store's Genius Bar and they reinstalled iTunes. I never did this on my own since I couldn't find a clear answer online (should I uninstall first? save music folder on desktop?, etc), but all the guy did was re-install iTunes from the Apple website and that took care of it, it was rather easy.

  • ITunes Match Broken After iOS 8 - Only downloads a few tracks, icons spin on every track in library

I have upgraded both my iPad Air and iPhone 6 to iOS 8.1, and iTunes Match is broken in two ways that make it unusable.
First, every single song on both devices (except those already downloaded to the device) has the "spinning wheel" icon as if I tried to download the song from the cloud... but I have not tapped Download on any tracks.  The iTunes Store "Downloads" list confirms that nothing at all is downloading.  If I tap one of those spinning wheels... it becomes a progress wheel and the track begins to download, and shows up in the iTunes Store's Downloads list.  So the icon for every track is just wrong, the little cloud-arrow replaced with a spinning (or sometimes stationary) wheel.
Second, and far more frustrating, is the "Download All" button at the top of a long playlist now downloads only the first 30-50 songs on that playlist.  After that it just does not try to download any others, confirmed again in the iTunes Store's Downloads list.  Every other song on my playlist has a stationary wheel icon (which is to say, not a spinning wheel but the same icon), and I have to tap every single one of those to get them to begin downloading.  I'm going on a long vacation with minimal internet service, I want to download a bunch of music onto my new iPad and iPhone, I have playlists that are thousands of tracks long... and now I have to tap every single song on every single one to download them for offline listening, which is just infuriating.
    Help!

Guess what!!!! I managed to fix it!
After much googling and experimenting - I can now download more than 25 songs in a playlist, and the songs don't get stuck with the red circle. The problem appeared to be, strangely, the syncing of folders of playlists in iTunes match.
    What I did
    - remove all music from phone and turn off Match
    - ensure music is available for syncing in iTunes on Mac (but ensure 0 songs are synced)
    - removed all folders from my playlists. Playlists do not reside in any folders anymore
    - update iTunes match manually from the Store menu
    - turn on match from iPhone, and download a playlist
That worked, remarkably. Some kind of buffering/caching issue when match tries to download from a playlist within a folder? How weird. Let me know if that works for you.
