ITunes only syncs part of a playlist

I have a iphone 4 running ios 5.0.1 and itunes 10.5.3 on a new macbook, and I can not get playlists to sync to my phone.  It only transfers 6 songs per playlist.  I don't want to have to restore my phone. Is there any other way? What am I missing?

It is a bug. Some folks have found that putting the import settings on WAV corrects the problem. After you verify the WAV files are complete, you can convert to your preferred format.
If that does not help and you are tired of fussing with it, rip your CDs in another program, e.g. Windows Media Player, and add the resulting MP3s to your iTunes library.

  • Itunes only syncs PART of my library to the iPhone

I made some modifications to my iTunes library a few weeks ago, and only recently noticed that my iPhone suddenly has NO music.
iTunes looks completely normal; all my music is there, all playlists, etc. When I go to sync just a few playlists to the iPhone, it says it's complete but there is nothing on the phone. If I sync ALL music and playlists, it syncs about 10 items out of the entire library (250 Mb out of 10Gb). If I add a new song to the library today, it gets included in the sync.
So it looks like the iPhone and iTunes are not agreeing on what playlists out of my library need to be synced somehow. If I delete a song from the library and add it again, now it will sync as part of the all-music-and-playlists sync. I can't afford to delete everything and add it again just to clean this up!
Something to do with file timestamps or the iTunes XML file? Database messed up?
I'd appreciate any help from anyone; thanks.
    Mike

The list is only 5.6GB, I still should have 7 GB more of free space.
When the sync starts, the Audio portion fills to the 5.6GB, then after the sync, it drops back down to 2GB.
The whole playlist is visible on my iPhone in iTunes, but the other 500 odd songs are all grayed out.

  • Itunes only sync part of library

For some reason my Ipod is only syncing to part of my Itunes library. I have over 750 songs in my library put when I sync only 64 songs are showing up. I have unistalled and reinstalled Itunes and have restored my Ipod to factory settings and still only 64 songs sync in my Ipod. What makes it even more weird, is that it is always to same songs that gets downloaded If anyone could assist me, please do?

Actually the original library was started on another computer. When I got a lab top, I decided to delete the original library on the old one and make my lab top my main library and that is when I started having my problems. The first time I sync the new library I was able to download more songs, but still not the full library.

  • TS1424 itunes only downloaded part of a song I purchased. How do I correct that?

itunes only downloaded part of a song I purchased. How do I fix it or get a refund?

Other people have been having similar problems with songs for a few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting it from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • I have just synced my iphone4 it has only synced part of my music not all of it saying they can't be found although they are in my library

You can turn off in-app purchases on the iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off' - depending upon the iOS version on the iPad you might also have a Require Password setting on the Restrictions screen which you can set to 'Immediately'
There is a copy of the iPad manual here, which you can download : http://support.apple.com/manuals/ipad/

  • I purchased an audio book from I tunes but when I sync with my I phone it respond with error saying could not read or write the file. It only sync parts 2

I purchased an audio book from I tunes but when I sync with my I phone it respond with error saying could not read or write the file. It only sync parts 2

Those videos are probably not in an iPod-friendly format. It’s picky about that. You can try converting them, if possible.
As for the audiobooks, are you sure they haven’t synced? You’ve enabled it to sync books and checked the “Audiobooks” section of your iPod?

  • ITunes only syncs 25 songs

My new iPhone 4s only syncs 25 songs from my iTunes library.  I've tried syncing directly from my 2 month old MacBook Pro; I've tried syncing via WiFi; and I've tried checking and unchecking every option available in iTunes with no luck.  Any help or do I need to go to the Genius Bar?

With your iPod connected, look under the Music tab and make sure that you haven't accidentally checked to sync only your purchased playlist.

  • How come itunes only downloaded part of a song?

I bought a a couple of albums off of itunes and on one song (that i know of) on each album only plays part of the song. For example: if you have a 3:45 song it will only play 2:35 of the song and then it cuts off and moves onto the next song on the album. Can anybody help with this problem. I want my moneys worth. Thanks.

Delete the tracks from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track files to the Trash. Then download the tracks again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the tracks persist, go here:
    iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • Itunes only syncing certain photos to ipad 2 I have saved in iphoto

I have uploaded photos from my camera to iphoto.  I then edited them deleted some and cropped and adjusted the rest and put them into a folder. I then wanted to put this folder containg the pictures onto my ipad 2. I connected my ipad and ticked the box containing the pictures and expected the folder to sync but all I get out of 220 photos are approx 40 that itunes is syncing across.  I have created different folders but itunes is still only syncing about 40 pictures.  I have restored the ipad etc, and itunes will not sync folders that I am making containing photos I want on my ipad.  I then decided to save a hard copy to disc to find that iphoto has duplicated all the pictures.  For example all the photos I edited (220), I now have 600+ saved to disc!!!!!!!!!! What the **** is going on.  Why can't I simply drag and drop pictures I want onto the ipad?????  What am I doing wrong that itunes and my ipad cannot sync photos properly??? HELP!!!!

You can try deleting the iPod Photo Cache Folder and then sync again. Read this support article for instructions.

  • Itunes only loads parts of songs.

When i load cds onto itunes it only loads parts of the songs, and for some it says 'not available'.
For example dani california, which is 4:42 long, only comes up as 1:19, and snow, the song after is 'not available'.
The cd's work in my cd player 100% fine, and all the tracks are there, just not complete.....
    Any fixes?

It seems that I have the same problem.
While am working on the Mac, I often listen music on iTunes 8.0.2 (iMac G4 OS X 10.4.11) with Shuffle On, Repeat Off, I notice some pieces doesn't play completely and change before the end.
Opening the music file with Sound Studio, I saw that a part is missing (Waveform is flat). Sometime only few second at the end, but sometime only few second left at the beginning !
What could have gone wrong ? How to fix this ?
Thanks for any help you can give,
(I looked on my BackUp Disk to restore the full missing number. Unfortunately, it seems that SuperDuper "Sand Box" has already BackUp and replace the right full numbers with the defect one !)

  • ITunes only syncs to step 3

What is causing iTunes to only sync in three steps?  And skip right over the app updates I've downloaded?  Now, I have to manually update each app.

Installing iTunes on a new computer, the box for "Automatically install new apps" (below the list of apps on your device) is UNCHECKED.  Place a check in the box and iTunes will sync and automatically install all updated apps.

  • ITunes only imports part of a song

I've tried uploading two cd's today and it begins to import all songs fine.
Then when approx. half the songs are imported, iTunes only imports a few seconds of each remaining song. I can end up with anything from1 second of a song to 2 minutes of a song that should be 4 minutes long.
I've run diagnostics and it passed all the tests, so I don't know what to do now?
ps I have the latest version of iTunes.

  • IPod Classic only syncs part of my songs, then grinds to a halt slowly

    Hi all,
My iPod Classic (80 GB, almost 3 years old) and I are having beef. Every time I connect it to iTunes it starts syncing just fine, but then after X amount of songs it all of a sudden 'hangs' for a while and then pretends to continue at the gruelingly slow pace of about 1 song per 10 minutes. Eventually it stops all together and gives me the following error messages (excuse any bad translations, it's from Dutch):
    * "Copying to the iPod failed. Disk can't be read from or written."
    * "iTunes can't copy song X to the iPod because the file can't be read or written."
It's a different song every time. After that iTunes completely freezes, the cursor beachballs to infinity and beyond and I have no choice but to just brutally disconnect the iPod. If I'm lucky there's some music on there, but not always. I now only sybc 1 measly playlist so he can manage it... Oh and the covers & songs are a mismatch (can be amusing when Stephen Fry's face shows up next to a QOTSA song).
Also I've noticed that at the point of no return when the syncing slows, I hear some clicking and revving inside the iPod.. Tell me doctor, is the end nigh? But he's hardly three years old and my most beloved possession!
    Tried so far:
    * reverting to older iTunes
    * updating software
    * complete reset of the iPod

I have a theory that it's tied to Snow Leapord and/or iTunes, probably something Apple did to disable Palm Pre phones from being able to sync with iTunes. I've never seen that confirmed though, so it might nto be. All I know is I've been having this problem for a long time. I just tried iTunes 9.2.1 on my Mac hoping Apple had finally fixed it, but alas they didn't.
The solution I found? Get a PC and find an old version of iTunes. You give up some of the newer so-called features, and you've got to deal with a Windows box for your library, but at least the iPod will sync.

  • HT2729 Can I choose to only sync some of my playlists to my iphone instead of the entire library?  Not enough space on my phone for all my music. If so, how?

My iphone cannot fit all the music in my library, whereas my ipod easily does.  Is there a way to pick and choose only SOME of the music without syncing the entire library?

Go to the Music Tab in iTunes and select what you want to sync.  You can select playlists, albums, artists, or individual songs.

  • Went from an iphone 4 to a 4s to a new 4 and itunes only sync last backup from first iphone 4. How can i get my texts, photos, calendar data back?

Had an iPhone 4, lost it, bought a 4s, got stolen. Now I bought another iPhone 4, tried to sync it with itunes, I only get the data up to the last day I used the old iphone 4, all data, texts, photos, calendar during the use of the 4s no longer shows on my phone when I sync it with itunes

When you say that it recognizes both phones are you sure you aren't just seeing both backups?  iCloud should back up your new phone if you have iCloud Backup turned to On in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup.  But you may still have the old backup stored in your account as well when you check in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage on the Backups list.  If you no longer need the backup of your old phone, tap it and then tap Delete Backup.
