Itunes opening by defalt and updating my ipod

My when i plug my ipod in itunes does not open automatically to update my ipod and when i try to click update ipod it doens't work

There may be one of several issues going on.....
First connect the iPod and manually open iTunes. Does it see the iPod? If so, then check the syncing selection within iTunes: Edit==>Preferences==>'iPod' tab. Make sure you have the correct selection for full auto syncing. Also check to see that iTunes will automatically open when an iPod is detected.
If iTunes does not see the iPod, then try Resetting Your iPod
i while it's connected to the computer
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo.
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.

you will not loose your content at all. It is still sitting in your hard drive even if you uninstall itunes.
Once itunes will be reinstalled , it will re-sync your stuff on your hard drive

Fixed it!
1. Made sure itunes software was up to date
2. Pressed and held 'home' button and 'on-off' button at the same time for about 10 seconds till ipod reset (I hadn't done this step previously)
3. Connected to itunes
4. Pressed restore and update ipod
Update successful and ipod taken out of recovery mode

If the problem is that iTunes does not see the iPod try:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
Otherwise provide informat at to what happens when yuo try to sync. Errot messages?

I am having the same issue. I just had the battery replaced at a third party store. The battery powers the ipod up but it needs to be restored. It is saying it isn't eligible for rebuild. Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.

It will delete all your data. However, before upgrading, iTunes will make a backup, so you can restore it after upgrading and your data will be restored, including your photos taken with your iPod

It's happened to me before as well. Try holding both lock(top right) and home buttons simultaneously until u see a slight flash of wight then just reboot it normally. If that doesn't work try restoring your device from itunes

You sync music the same way as on the Classic. What you sync to an iPod does not effect the iTunes library on your computer.

I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.

The language of the store is set by the store that you are using. Are you logged in with your Danish iTunes account on the iPad : Settings > Store ?
