ITunes opens and re-opens without warning

Here's the deal.  This has been going on for a while now but it's now starting to become a problem.  Every time I close iTunes, it decides to open itself up again and the only way to keep it closed is to ctrl+alt+delete and close it via the processes tab.  But now a new, rather irritating issue has come up.  Now it decides to open at will every time I go into my itunes folder.  No warning and no explanation, it just does.  I have looked for fixes and nothing has worked.  I have no widgets or gadgets that would cause make this happen and I have done several tests reguarding my keyboard and related apps (including shutting off the apps and unplugging the keyboard) and the same thing happens so I have reason to believe that is not the confliction.  I have tried doing a clean install but that was a bust as well.  If anyone knows of why this happens or knows how to prevent it, please let me know.
If it helps, I have the latest version of itunes x64 (or whats claimed on the apple site as the 64 bit version but windows still reads it as a 32 bit executable) and all the updates for windows 7 Professional x64.

wow.  I don't quite understand why keyboard software would make this happen, but that is a darn shame that this is the exact case.  especially when all the other media players I have on my computer, even Windows Media, doesn't act like this.  Guess I'll just have to make due and live with it because I really like the software.  Thanks for clearing this up for me.

  • ITunes opens without warning every 5 minutes

Of late, iTunes will open itself in the background. For example, as I type this, the Main iTunes window just opened itself behind my web browser. I didn't open a file linked to the program, nor the program itself.
    Any suggestions?

Check Dashboard to see if you have any iTunes-related widgets running. If so, close them and see if that makes a difference. A plugin for iTunes may also cause iTunes to launch automatically.

  • ITunes will not open in Windows 7 for one User. All I get is the Licence Agreement pane and when I click YES nothing further happens. I have set up a second user and iTunes opens without problem in that User window.

Clearly something is blocking the main user(administrator) from opening the iTunes programme and I cannot find a solution.

Many thanks for your reply. Yes I carried out the suggested procedure in safe mode , which did not resolve the issue and so this is what led me to set up a second User account. iTunes opened without problem in this second account and so I looked at the User-specific troubleshooting but I just could not locate the iTunes Preference files no matter how much searching I did.
I also tried uninstalling and re-installing but the problem persists. Would be very grateful for any further advice.

  • Photoshop CS4 crashes and shuts down without warning.

I have installed the new CS4 upgrade, and I have disabled the GPU. I have just upgraded to 2MB of RAM. However, PSD CS4 will suddenly shut down without warning at unpredictable times - yesterday it happened when I zoomed in past 200% - today it happened when I hit Save For Web. Really annoying. Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • HT3989 Cannot play my iTune music and my recordings without 64bit - I have a 32bit system on my iMac

My iTunes has been upgraded on my 24" iMac - now I cannot play any iTune or my recorded music without 64bit.  What shall I do?  I understand that I have to completely uninstall iTunes, and my 32 bit program and download the 64 bit app.  Is this correct?  I wouldn't know where to begin???

No it's not through iCloud, it's done through your wifi network to share content between your household's computers and iOS devices : home sharing . I've copied music between computers using it but I haven't tried it with films, but I think it should work - this page is specifically about copying music, but I think that the same principle should work for films : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527

  • I have two iTunes account and want one without losing purchased apps

I have two itune accounts, How do I close down one iTunes account and not lose purchased apps from the account closed.

You can't close or delete an account, all you can do is remove any personal info from it and stop using it - but any content that you purchased or downloaded with it will remain tied to it, so you will need to remember its id and password for re-downloading and or re-authorising.

  • ITunes opening without being clicked on

I did a quick search and couldn’t find any information about this problem, but if it’s already been addressed, just post the link. My problem:
Ever since I updated to iTunes 5.0.1, iTunes will open unexpectedly without being clicked on. I can quit it, but less than a minute later it will open again. Not sure what is going on.
    Thanks!

  • PlayBook battery level warning does not always work and shuts down without warning

My BlackBerry PlayBook, operating on the new OS2, annoyingly shuts down at 12% battery life without any warning if I have anything open.  If open applications are reduced so that the desktop is visible, the PlayBook will alarm at 9% and and continue to run below this figure.   Does anyone have a solution to this or experienced this issue?  Thank you.

Your Macbook is still under warranty.
I would call Apple Support and see what they recommend. You don't have to purchase the AppleCare unless you want to.
    You have another choice.
You can buy a new battery and see if that works for you.
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=F80 3127E&nplm=MA561G%2FA
Then you could take in the original battery and have it checked out under warranty.
Of course, you would probably end up with two batteries in the end but sometimes that is a good thing depending on how much you travel.

  • IPad and iPhone restore without warning

My iPhone5 running ios 6.1.4 and iPad running iOS 6.1.3 have both restored themselves.  The phone was a few days ago and the iPad today.  Went to turn them on after charging overnight and the start screen was showing just like a new device.  I searched forums but couldn't find similar problems except developers using beta firmware versions which is definitely not me. I'm a simple user with very limited knowledge of how these things work. Fortunately I'm at home so can restore all the data from my PC but I travel a lot and this could have been a disaster if it happened while away.  Anyone experienced the same issue? Is it likely to happen again?

OK, I've done some testing and this is what I found. The iBooks app will sync your iPhone and iPad wireless when they are connected to the same wi-fi network. It will sync your categories and bookmarks. I found I could read a magazine on my iPad and when I opened it on my iPhone it was on the same page that I stopped at on my iPad. Great feature I think.

  • Delete of functions and void * accepted without warning by compiler

    Program:
    extern "C" int sync();
    void f() { delete sync; }compiles fine.
This also compiles fine (CC -c s.cc +w2):
    void f(void *p) { delete p; }
    void g(void *p) { delete [] p; }gcc4 gives for first program:
    t.cc: In function 'void f()':
t.cc:2: error: cannot delete a function. Only pointer-to-objects are valid arguments to 'delete'
For the second program it gives:
    s.cc: In function 'void f(void*)':
s.cc:1: warning: deleting 'void*' is undefined
    s.cc: In function 'void g(void*)':
s.cc:2: warning: deleting 'void*' is undefined
I am not a language lawyer, but gcc treatment seems better.
Some refactoring of our code had left a delete sync; in our code after the pointer sync had been removed. It was some work to find out why the program crashed.

According the the C++ Standard, the program results are undefined if you attempt to delete a pointer that was not obtained from a corresponding "new". The compiler is not required to detect errors.
But attempting to delete a function pointer can never be correct, so gcc is being more helpful than Sun C++ in telling you about it.
If you file a report at bugs.sun.com, you can track progress on getting this enhancement into the compiler. If you don't want to file the bug, let me know, and I'll file one myself.

  • Explorer.exe (?) crashing without warning, closing all open programs

Hello! I recently got a windows 8.1 computer and have been using it for only a week, but I've been having issues with what I can only assume is explorer.exe.
The taskbar will randomly completely disappear, leaving only a blue empty space at the bottom of the screen (possibly getting rid of my desktop background as well), close every program I have open without warning aside from the one I'm using at the time
(generally google chrome) and doesn't seem to restart itself on its own. I have to ctrl+alt+del to get to the task manager to manually start explorer.exe again, which works without an issue aside from possible lost unsaved progress from the closed
programs. I don't get any pop up saying windows has encountered any errors, it just does it for maybe no reason.
I can't think of why it would be doing this because again, I've only been using it for a week. It doesn't happen often, it's done it maybe two or three times but it seems it might not be stopping any time soon. I checked the reliability monitor and
it doesn't seem to recognise this issue as anything, nothing shows up for this. Any help to resolve this would be much appreciated, or even just finding out why it's doing it. Thank you!

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
    Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
    Expand Custom Views
    Click Administrative Events
    Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to Onedrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post
If you have updated to win 8.1 and you get the error message "the system cannot find the file specified" it is a known problem.
The work around is to edit the registry.  If you are not comfortable doing this DONT.  If you are, backup the key before you do
    Press Win+"R" and input regedit
    Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels. Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic"

  • Cannot download iTunes 7 and trouble with existing iTunes file

I downloaded iTunes onto my hard drive on my computer but also onto an external hard drive as well. Everything worked fine until I went to open iTunes on my desktop one day and an error window popped up.
    "Windows - No Disk
    Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c"
With buttons Cancel, Try Again & Continue.
If I close the warning windows (2 always pop up) I get an iTunes Setup Assistant window.
    "Warning!
iTunes was not properly installed. If you want iTunes to be able to retrieve CD information from the internet, you need to reinstall iTunes."
When I press the "Okay" button on that window, iTunes opens without a problem and with all the music in my iTunes library. I've been able to use it just fine with my iPod and on the iTunes store.
However, I have attempted to download iTunes 7 and it has not let me. I have successfully downloaded the iTunes 7 Set-up file. When I go to run the file, it wants to put the iTunes in my J: drive. The J: drive isn't on my computer though because it says it has 0KB space available on the drive. When I try and change the destination of iTunes it says "The volume J: is currently unavailable. Please select another." It won't let me select another and then immediatly takes me to the last page of the installer where it says:
"The installer encountered errors before it could be completed..."

okay. i've seen four or five of these lately. it
seems to be associated with something to do with
external drives and/or drive letter assignments, and
can hit other programs than itunes (according to a
thread i found at the Microsoft Newsgroups).
here's a search on the error code here at
    Discussions:
    c0000013
... are any of the links in the various threads there
of any assistance with your manifestation of this?
Make that six. I am now receiving the exact same error message. My message makes iTunes completely inoperable and there is no way for me to get around it. Yes, I too have external drives attached to my computer. Anyone have advice on how to deal with this exception errort? I hope Apple has fix for us soon.
Thanks in advance for any help!
