ITunes opens to a white screen and nothing more

Hi all,
I updated to the latest iTunes 11.whatever and my iTunes just will not open despite my trying all the suggestions in help articles by Apple:  opening in Safety mode, restarting computer, reinstalling iTunes, updating Windows, deleting Security software.  etc.  etc.   Suggestions?  I've never had problems like this before.  I'm on an Acer Aspire laptop running windows 7.

I've been having the same issue. Updated to the latest iTunes and the first thing that happens is it displays "Checking iTunes Libary" for about 5 minutes. When iTunes finally opens, all I get is a white screen with my cursor displaying the spinning blue donut indicitive of waiting for the program. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes as well as completely uninstalling all the Apple software on my computer and reinstalling iTunes. I've never had this problem before and at this point I'm considering switching to different software if I can't get this resolved. I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Samsung laptop that is only around 3 months old.

Reboot computer. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. This usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Click the Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, all iPhone 4S have full Warranty. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

  • IPad mail opens with blank white screen and then closes since returning from overseas. Worked fine up until then.

Since returning from overseas my iPad mail does not work. Selecting mail opens a blank white screen which stays open for a short time then closes. No functionality is available during this time. Doing the normal reboots etc does not resolve the problem.

Have you tried to go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and removing then re-adding the account info?

  • Macbook White Screen (and nothing else happens after that)

    Hi All,
I have a problem with my wife's macbook (which is exactly 13 months old, Aargh!)
She was having some problem with slow apps etc, so decided to restart, the restart didnt go through so she tried holding down the power button to force shut down.
When she tried to restart it several seconds later, it chimes but it gets stuck on a white/grey screen with nothing on it, not even the Apple logo. Something started whirring louder and louder for the first 2 minutes and it stayed that way for at least 10 minutes++. Note that it shuts off immediately as soon as I push the power button down.
I have tried all the startup key combinations listed on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1533?viewlocale=en_US
But other than the Firewire logo showing up when I pressed T down at startup nothing else works, the actual Firewire target disk function didnt work when hooked up to another mac.
I have also tried taking off the battery/AC adapter and holding down the power button method to no avail.
The Macbook itself was bought in the US, but we are now in Europe so the startup CDs are not around, or at least not yet . I doubt it will do miracles anyway...
I know I'd probably have to take it in to an Apple Store to see whats up, but I thought I'd share it here first.
Let me know if anyone have similar experiences..
    Cheers.

Try resetting the PRAM by restarting your computer while simultaneously holding down the Command-Option-P-R keys until the computer restarts a second time.
    Hope this helps

  • I have an iPod Touch 4g. White screen and nothing is working or helping. Please HELP!!

I was using Safari and the page froze. Then the screen went white. I've tried holding the power and home screen button down for over 30 seconds- no change. I've held down the power, home screen, and volume up buttons at the same time for over 40 second- no change. I've tried doing those with it connected to iMac and iTunes doesn't recognize it. The iPod was to be used at Birthday party tomorrow so PLEASE HELP ME!

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • White screen and nothing else

I installed mountain lion, after I decided to update iPhoto and iWork, during updating I got message that finder doesn't work properly and my Mac quit to do anything, I decided to reload, after that I was stocked in the entrance white screen, with no any option to improve the situation. Is there anybody who can tell what's wrong with that OS? And what should I do?

Try resetting the PRAM by restarting your computer while simultaneously holding down the Command-Option-P-R keys until the computer restarts a second time.
    Hope this helps

  • Love my new ipad.  But after upgrading to ios7 Safari became dodgy.  Now it is frozen in a white screen and nothing will free it.  Everything else on the ipad works fine. I deleted data, history, cookies, etc.  Same problem.  No change after power down.

Everything worked fine on my new ipad.  After I upgraded to ios7 it still worked fine even if it looked very different.  But Safari started acting strangely (it is starting the same thing on my iPhone 4s, too).  Finally, it froze in state with no URL, no keyboard will come up, I can get Safari to close and start, but not actually function.  I went into settings and deleted all the cookies, data, history, and so forth.  Same state.  I powered down the iPad and restarted.  Same state.  I tried a trick were I held down the button to bring up the power down stripe and then holding down the home button.  Same state.
What can I do?  Can I delete Safari and re-install it somehow?  Should I take it to an Apple store?

If powering down with hard reset (press and hold two buttons Power and home) will not give positive results follow that article

  • Blackberry logo on screen - and nothing more!

    Hi All,
Got my Q10 yesterday from work - I set it up and all was fine.
I have been charging all night, however when I try to turn on, I get the purple blackberry image that works it's way up to 100%, however, I can't get the phone to do anything when I have the blackberry logo on screen. If I touch the image it just say's 100%.
Bizarelly, when I charged all last night (with the new charger provided) it had an empty battery sign, and then a 'lighting' bolt image.
It's driving me nuts - just want to be able to use it. I have taken the battery out and in again, but this hasn't resolved it.
Anythiing you can suggest to help would be most welcome.
    Thanks very mcuh in advance!

If I understand correctly, the BlackBerry logo appears as your phone is rebooting but then remains at 100% with nothing happening after that.
If that's the case, try plugging your phone in to your PC and opening BlackBerry Link.  You might need an OS reload and Link will help you with that.
Give that a try and post back with your results.
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • White Screen of Nothing

I've been noticing lately that occassionally when I open an application.  I end up with a white screen and nothing else.  It is not consistent.  Last night I attempted to access my SplashID program, it started OK, showed the login screen, I entered my password and then instead of a  listing of my passwords, all I got was a white screen.   I waited to see if it would paint the screen, but the Pre timed out before it did anything.  This morning I accessed the program with no problem.  However, I then tried to access my FlightView program, and it gave me the white screen.  I closed the program, re-opened it, and now I see the program.  Do other folks have this happening?  Is this a memory issue?  I would hope not the system reports that I have 6.9 GB available.  Any one have an idea, what is going on?  Thanks

    1) Don't confuse memory with storage space. The Sprint Pre has 256mb system memory and 8gb storage space (The Verizon Pre has 512mb system memory and 16gb of storage but the principle is the same). One has no bearing on the other.
    2) Have you tried rebooting your phone lately? Just hold down the Option + Sym + R keys all at the same time just like you would for Windows <Ctrl> <Alt> <Del>.  The Option key is orange on a Sprint Pre, white/silver/grey for Sprint Pixi, and white/silver/grey for all Palm phones from Verizon, et al. Wait for the phone to reboot. See if that helps the situation.

    Hello,
    This will fix your problem!
To put the device in DFU mode,
    1. Connect the device to iTunes
    2. Hold both the power button and the home button down simultaneously
    3. After 10 seconds, release the power button but leave the home button pressed
    4. iTunes should then recognize that the device has entered DFU mode and ask to restore.
That should get you back on your way.

  • Help! When I select "Phone" it tries to open and gives me a white screen and closes. I cannot view my missed calls or voicemails.

If anyone knows anything about this...
When I select "Phone" on my home screen the iPhone attempts to open it, brings up a white screen and then will shut back down. I have 8 missed calls or voicemails yesterday and I couldn't check any of them. Does this happen to anyone else?
Also, when I receive a call and I answer it does not give me the ability to end call or any of my options (sources, keypad, etc.) during the call.
Basically, I can't do anything with my contacts, favorites, missed calls or voicemails.
    Can someone please help?

I have tried that multiple times. I have also made sure that I have the latest updates. Would haveing 27,000+ contacts have anything to do with it?
