Itunes opens when I start my computer even when it is off in login items in accounts. How can I turn itunes off ?

itunes opens automatically when I start my iMac OS X 10.6.8.
itunes is in hide mode on login items in accounts but it still comes on in start up. How can I stop this?

I downloaded the menu editor extension but I can't open it.
Searching on the web for something to open it I get the message from the windows website:
File Type: Unknown
Description: Windows does not recognize this file type.

Thanks for taking the time to try to help me. . I checked and the Do not disturb is off. The check is still there stopping calls from coming in when phone is locked. Any other ideas? Thanks again!

Iphoto comes up on start up- how can I turn this off?

Can't figure out why this is happening- iphoto automatically opens when I turn on the computer.

It's probably set as a Login Item. Go into System Preferences -> Users & Groups. Select the account you're currently logged in with from the list (should already be selected), and choose 'Login Items'. There you will see a list of all the applications that will start up automatically on login. Highlight the item you want to remove and click the minus [-] sign at the bottom.

Thnx, I already did that when I got the chance. But when I took it over there yesterday they told me we can only fix it and not replace it coz I exceeded my warranty reclaim!! its just not practical to have it and send it back overseas within the warranty limit! When left click drop down arrow and other items, dialog box constantly pops up instead of performing action. how can I turn it off, or must I uninstll mozilla?

When using mozilla for web searches, each time I click to correct a word or grammar a dialog box constantly comes up like a right click box asking if want to copy, cut correct spell etc. when I click to search at the magnifying glass another box keeps coming up. Seems like everything I left click when in mozilla springs up a dialog box. Pretty frustrating and does not happen when I use AOL search without mozilla. I should have posted this earlier, but anyway. I restored my laptop to factory version after backing up any useful data, and the first thing I the laptop was restored was connect to the internet, download and install the latest version of iTunes. And Bingo! It worked.

when trying to send a comment to discussion sites I get an error message that says "Firefox has blocked this site" actions offered "allow"
or "X". When I enter "allow" it ignores the command and the message disappears. A lot of wasted thought and typing. How do I turn this feature off.

We like listening to music playing from wife's user account.
I want to do some work from my account.
I don't want iTunes to open on my user account.
It keeps trying to, giving me the alert beep and the "Cannot Open iTunes" alert.
How do I make it stop trying to automatically open on one account when it is already playing on the other account?
Again, I want to keep listening to what is playing through my wife's account, therefore I don't want it to open or try to open on my account.

Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?

When firefox starts, an "XvidSetup.exe" window pops up asking to install the file. How can I stop this?

This only happens opening FF, IE is ok. This started just a few days ago, but I cannot think of anything that triggered it.

Hi MSchp,
You should check to see what your homepage has been set to or try to NOT restore the previous session. Did you try to install the xvid codec at one point? It sounds like it might be trying to load it on startup because the download url might be stored in the session history or as your homepage. Try resetting the home page to default and don't load the previous session.
