ITunes opens with a dialog about registry settings
Every time I open iTunes, I get a dialog saying that the CD registry settings have been modified, and that a reinstall is needed. After reinstalling, I still get the same popup box at startup.

Well, its more to do with that Microsoft tech support fixed it for me. So I sould have assumed everything would have been fine. I think its porbably because Daemon tools mucked it all up that Tech support had to eliminate future issues.
I guess its just something that iTunes isnt affected by, but then realised something changed, so the warning message pops up before I load the program.... I guess its a small thing I dont have to really worry too much about.
I plan on getting a new computer some day, prefferably a mac for video editing. And have all my music on it, and my games on my PC
It will sure make my media easier. And I can worry about game performance on my PC and ease of media on the MAC.
Id like to know if someone might have a clue as to how to just you know.... turn the arning off? lol

I just installed the latest version of iTunes, but when I went to open iTunes I got a message saying registry settings used to for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing and I should reinstall iTunes. Really?
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes -
Itunes opens with error -50 on my Mac. Once open signing in causes error 5002. Signing in from App store just fails. My Mac pc does not appear to be registered anymore and I can't sign in. On screen Support buttons don't connect so can't contact support online. Tried all the work arounds in discussions but no joy. Even tried deleting itunes to start agin but you can do that apparently. For one work around I Signed in through Safari to change payment details but payment option was not displayed. Getting really p'd off. All is ok on my iphone/ipad etc but not my main pc. Any printable suggestions appreciated.
Found a fix that worked, didnt even need to refresh the network settings
Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
Choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go.
In the Finder window, locate the file named "NetworkInterfaces.plist" and drag this file to the Trash.
Restart your computer.
Once your computer has restarted, you will not be able to connect to the Internet. You will need to refresh your network settings to be able to connect again:
Choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu.
Choose Network from the View menu.
If you're using Mac OS X v10.4, choose New Location from the Locations menu.
Click Apply Now at the bottom right.
If your network connection requires any special settings, you will need to put them back in at this point. You would have received these from your ISP or network administrator. -
My iTunes is telling me that the registry settings are missing for importing and burning cd's and dvd's. I have installed the latest up as well as uninstalled and then reinstalled a few times, at least 4. The registry settings are still not there and I cannot burn to a cd. HELP!!!
To fix registry, refer to this article:
iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3299 -
When connecting to Itunes, it shows the following error: registry settings used by itunes drivers for importing and burning cds are missing.
I have edited the registery, downloaded the Gear drivers, uninstalled and installed itunes, and the error still appears.
What else can I do. Cannot connect any of our iphones or ipods to itunes because of this error.I have edited the registery,
We'd better have a closer look at the keys to see what's going on.
Can you post a screenshot of the contents of the key you've been editing, please? Include all of the regedit screen, including the left-hand column. Save the screenshot to an image file, and insert the image file in a reply by clicking the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. -
I can't open the iTunes store and keep getting this error message. "Registry settings used by the iT drivers for importing & burning CDs & DVDs are missing. Reinstall iTunes." I've reinstalled iT a half dozen times with no results.
You might have two different things going on at once here.
Starting with the registry settings message.
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes -
Im getting a warning about registry settings
G'day everyone,
I just thought Id ask if anyone experienced this kind of problem before. I recently had to uninstall my DVD rom drive because a program changed my registry and my DVD rom drive couldnt be detected because the drivers for it were not found... (the program is Daemon tools, I was trying to back up my New Windows 7 DVD cause I jsut upgraded and I wanted to have a .iso of Windows 7 to perform any instals if something breaks.)
Anyway, with the help of a Microsoft technician over the net, he deleted some files in the registry that werent meant to be there and uninstalled and reinstalled my DVD Rom drive and everything works.
However, I get an annoying Warning saying:
"Warning!
The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
Now, I repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, I even tried to import a CD and it works fine.... I know its only small, but how on earth can I rid myself of this warning bubble? Unless something is wrong, Id like someone to let me know, otherwise, Im looking everywhere to find out what on earth is going on - because iTunes works fine.Well, its more to do with that Microsoft tech support fixed it for me. So I sould have assumed everything would have been fine. I think its porbably because Daemon tools mucked it all up that Tech support had to eliminate future issues.

I have tried reinstalling numerous times but I keep getting the same message and I cannot use the burning feature. I have other burning software on my computer but it has always been there. This problem just started recently. Please help!
This same thing happened to me about two months. ago. I bought a new harddrive for my previously-fried netbook, and when I installed iTunes it gave me the missing registry business. So I came online and looked for solutions. This solution led to a different 'can't burn' error in iTunes, and I found a solution to that one, and it was like I was running in circles for a solid two weeks. Finally I managed to fix the problem, but after trying it hundreds of times I couldn't tell you which solution won out. Well, everything was fine and dandy, until I upgraded iTunes last night. Now its back to the same registry settings problem, and I want to maim something. Someone please help me ;___;
I'm running Windows 7 by the way, on an Acer aspire netbook -
Itunes opens with library and purchased music missing
About every two weeks to a month I open itunes and it says it is copying library. It says the library is corrupt and itunes opens completely empty. No record of any songs play list or purchase history. I have about 11 files in my itunes folder marked itunes library (damaged). All my music is still in my itunes folder and I can drag and drop them back into itunes manually (hours of time), or use a 3rd party program to copy from ipod 5th generation, but sometimes even the next day itunes loses all knowledge of itself. This started about the time i upgraded to 6 and continues to get worse, I have 7.1.1 now.
If you had the hard drive from the original machine, a backup of the same, an iPod with the media, or a subscription to iTunes Match then there would have been hope, but alas no.
For the future see Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy.

go "Start > Run", type dxdiag and hit enter.

Since I got my new iMac, or since I upgraded to iTunes 10 (which happened at the same time), iTunes opens erratically with no iPod or iPhone attached. It even starts playing the first song/book in the list that was opened in the last session.
What can be done to avoid that?Hi bphillips2633!
I have an article here that I believe will help you add these converted files to your iTunes library. That article can be found here:
iTunes: About the Add to Library, Import, and Convert functions
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1347
Follow the steps in that article to add these files to your iTunes library. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I am connecting my iPhone 5 to my Windows computer via USB. This should open iTunes and start the sync process. Instead of iTunes opening, I get the iTunes service agreement to which I must agree. Then iTunes opens and begins to back up my phone. It is syncing my photos and music (although the music thing is another nightmare), but under the "info" tab in iTunes, the boxes of which functions I want to sync are no longer selected. Hence the computer and the phone are not sharing information. When I select the functions I want to sync, I must either replace or merge. If I replace, I lose the information I recently put into my phone. If I choose to merge, then I have duplicates of everything.
How can I resolve this problem? Why is iTunes acting like it doesn't know my phone?
I'm using an iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4, Windows 7 64-bit, Outlook 13, and the must current version of iTunes (because I've removed and reinstalled it twice already).
Thanks for any help!
ChristineAfter you'd run the Configure Classic instance did you run in the statement as stated in 'Oracle® Fusion Middleware Installation Guide for Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) Part Number E10421-05'?
java -classpath ORACLE_HOME_DIR\discoverer\lib\disco-config.jar;ORACLE_HOME_DIR\oui\jlib\OraInstaller.jar;ORACLE_HOME_DIR\opmn\lib\iasprovision.jar -Djava.library.path=ORACLE_HOME_DIR\oui\lib\win32 oracle.disco.install.config.DiscoUtil -oraclehome ORACLE_HOME_DIR -tnsadmin TNS_ADMIN_DIR
I've completed an installation with the same steps (although I ran the config.bat file in as_1/bin rather than from the program files list and also I've the jrockit jdk installed)
I've found that this fails with the error;
INFO: This tool works only on Windows Platform. Exiting the program
Which is strange considering this is Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit
DISCO is running in the EM console but the URLs (as defined in the installation summary report) do not resolve properly. I was just interested to hear if you're installation was the same, this isn't the first installation I've done, they've all had a similar issue -
Every time I turn on my Imac my itunes opens as I have set up to but a window pops up asking me to sign in with my itunes password , is there a way to stop this as it's quite annoying .
Many Thanks
ACorrection: this is for automatic logon of the iMac itself.
In SystemPreferences/Users&Groups login items tab:
remove the line
iTunes with the minus sign at the bottom.
then also iTunes Match if you have it. -
ITunes opens with "Welcome to iTunes"
I've had my iPhone since August and all of a sudden last week iTunes started opening with "Welcome to iTunes" and a blank slate when I connect my iPhone. I figured out that I can manually start iTunes and sync my iphone with my correct files, but I am wondering how to fix the problem to get it working properly when I connect my phone.... anyone else have this problem or any ideas how to fix it?
Help, anyone else have this problem???

Hi,
Well here's my problem, that i've had since the beginning using iTunes:
The program opens with delay, ranging from 30 seconds up to 10 minutes, sometimes even more. Sometimes, it will just not open at all...
I have tried to reinstall iTunes, I have tried to open it after having shut down all my antivirus or adaware type programs, but it won't help.
Does anyone have a solution for me? Pleeeeaaase.. I'm just not too good at sitting patiently in front of my screen, waiting that a program will feel fine enough to get going.. Thanx for reading meSysinternals has some excellent freeware to find out more of what's going on with your PC. It's pretty involved - not for the casual PC user.
