ITunes or QT won't register install
I reformatted a couple a days ago, down loaded the new iTunes to install for my iPod. So this was a fresh install of XP with all updates and every attempt at installing iTunes after it's done installing everything is there.. then it all disappears. No registry entries, no installation dir, no set up files, nothing is there.
Then I tried to install QuickTime stand alone, it does the same thing. I've tried almost everything I can think of short of re formatting again. This problem is only particular to Apple's iTunes (needed for my iPod or QuickTime)

Having run the upgrade to 7.5 I tried to start itunes and was greeted by the "Setup assistant". Strange, since I've been running itunes for a year. Even stranger was that it just froze. The "next" button doesn't work. Neither does "Cancel". Nor could I shut the window. Had to kill it in "task manager".
Tried uninstalling. Redownloaded the installer and installed again. Same problem.
Uninstalled again. Uninstalled all other Apple apps, including "Quicktime". Went through the user directories and manually deleted all the config files and directories that the uninstall didn't get. Ran a registry cleaner to remove any invalid entries and associations. Rebooted. Reinstalled.
Same problem. I note that at least one other user has reported this and received no answer.
How can I get itunes to work again?I am having a similar problem, my iTunes won't register my iPod. I can't get past the registration screen to download any music. Any ideas? Help PLEASE!

I have a new ipod nano 8GB and i've downloaded itunes 7.5 many times, but nothing has happened. It won't install. I already have itunes 7.1.1.5, but my ipod nano requires 7.5. Why won't it install!

So whenever I try to download the newest itunes file it won't let me finish the install process because I'm missing the "Itunes.msi" file whatever that is and I've done some searches but I cannot find the file. Anyone know what to do?

Okay ... so it's not one of the cases of bodged up ACLs on the Apple folder in Common Files. (That's been underlying a few of the recalcitrant E7W5s.

Recently i updated my the itunes but after doing so although it would open on my computer for a bit, it wouldn't recognise it - ie, syncing phone or I could open the program but when trying to redeem a gift voucher it didn't recognise the program on my PC and suggested i install it!. Today it wouldn't open at all so I tried to uninstalled it so i could reinstall it from scratch but now it won't re-install but just takes me to 'thank you' page.

Itunes downloads but won't install at all
Hello, I had installed itunes in my PC and everything was OK.
Today I bought a new ipod nano, and when I connected it to the PC, itunes told me that it couldn't recognize the device (I cannot remember the exact words), although Windows did recognize it.
I searched in Apple support, and they said I needed to uninstall and reinstall itunes.
Well, I uninstalled all the Apple software (itunes, quicktime, apple mobile device support, bonjour, etc.). I have verified with the Windows Install Clean-Up Utility and nothing is left.
I downloaded the last itunes version from Apple, but whenever I execute the installation file, absolutely nothing happens. Windows just confirms if I want to execute the file, and after that, nothing. I have downloaded the installer several times, from different places but still the same. I have uninstalled, re-installed the Windows Installer, and still the same. I have cleaned all the Temp folders but it won't make any difference.
So, I tried to install it as Administrator, re-started and executed the installer...this time, although it does not install either, at least it throws out some kind of log file, which I am posting below.
If anyone has any idea, please help me, I've been trying to solve this ridiculous problem for many hours now.

After updating to iTunes 4, launching the application indicated that 64-bit mode was only available in Mac OS 10.7 Lion and to use in 32-bit mode by checking the 32-bit mode checkbox in the iTunes "Get Info" window. However, this window does not have the aforementioned checkbox. Thus, iTunes is now unusable. Tried to download fresh install from Apple site, but this process went into an infinite loop during the "registering installed components" phase of the installation. Had to force quit. System is iMac 27-inch, Core i7 processor, Mac OS 10.6.8. Is there a problem with iTunes 4? Can I go back to the previous version? Thanks.
Ah! I found several other people with the same problem in this forum. I followed the suggestion to move iTunes 4 from the "Applications" to the desktop and launch it from there. It worked! I moved it back into the Application folder and its still okay. Thanks! This is a definitely a bug that Apple needs to address quickly.

The latest update for iTunes 11.1.3, iBooks 1.0.1, Mail 1.0 won't update/install properly.
I recently installed Mavericks. The latest update for iTunes, iBooks and Mail do not install properly. I have tried updating individually and the Appstore indicates that they're installed. However after every restart the Appstore shows that the same update is available. I checked the applications folder and clicked on the 3 apps to "Get Info" and they're all still the old versions. I've repeatedly tried to update and install and the Appstore history has shown that I've tried over and over again. Any solutions would be appreciated please!
I'm having this same issue, except Mail and iBooks are both installed, but showing as need to be updated (to same version already installed several days ago). iTunes was also doing this until I manually installed it, but the other two still won't be recognized as updated. I did a sudo softwareupdate -i -a and that failed as well. So I did a
sudo softwareupdate -v --reset-ignored -l and showed this update is somehow broken

Doublechecking. Did you just uninstall iTunes, and not the related software and components?
The 7 can be caused by damage to one of the other software components associated with iTunes (most commonly Apple Application Support). If that's what is afoot, a complete uninstall/reinstall may be of some assistance:

Instead of downloading from Apple updates on my computer, I went to apple.com, loaded it from there and the update worked fine.

ITunes 10.5 Won't Install Win7 64-bit; Error 2324
Install starts, gets to the end, and then backs out. Tried uninstalling, now I have a broken iTunes that won't re-install.
I had a similar problem and after much trial and error, I found a process that worked for me. I hope this works for you guys and best of luck!!
Have Patience!!!!!!!
Unplug all Apple Devices from your USB ports or any other ports
Restart your computer
Open up Control Panel> Programs > Uninstall Programs
Click the “Publisher” to list the programs by publisher
Uninstall iTunes and Restart the computer
Repeat Steps 4-5 and uninstall all Apple Inc. programs (NOTE: If a program does not successfully uninstall, attempt to Repair it first)
Upon uninstalling all programs by Apple Inc. restart your computer
Delete all these folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuickTime
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuickTimeVR
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Restart the computer
Remove all Apple Inc. entries from your registry (For this step I would recommend using CCleaner or aprogram like it if you are not familiar with the RegEdit command… I personallyused CCleaner which can be downloaded for free from www.download.com)
Once you have removed all registry entries from Apple Inc. restart your computer.
Do one more check to ensure that all registry errors and Apple Inc. entries are removed (which include iTunes, Bonjour, QuickTime, etc)
Do another quick check to make sure all Apple Inc. programs are uninstalled from the control panel, all the folders are deleted from Step 9 and the registry is clean.
One more restart and then download iTunes and the installation should go through flawlessly

My Ipod Touch won't register on Itunes??
I have an Ipod Touch and it won't sync with my new laptop. I have tried restarting Itunes, the computer and my ipod, plugging it into different ports muliple times, and looking on mutiple sites.. I synced my ipod with my old desktop fine but now i have all my music, apps, ect tranfered onto my laptop and Itunes won't register my Ipod. Whenever i plug it in my laptop makes a low dum kind of noise and i can see it when i look at my devices under my computer, although i can only see my pics, but Itunes does't change. All the sites say check under the device column on the lft-hand side, but there isn't one. While I'm asking questions, If i have all the things my old Itunes library has, will all my history (like in conversations and youtube videos) be deleted? Oh and my laptop is a windows 7.

I downloaded Ipad apps on my computer via Itunes but it won't sync.. its shows that apps are installed but won't appear on my Ipad4. I tried switching it of and still couldn't find it.
Restrictions was disabled.. i enebled it and place the "Installing Apps" on "on" but still nothing after sync.

This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. (-42037) this is the error message i get when trying to open itunes. it wont let me download another version
First uninstall your copy of Itunes--http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/uninstall-itunes/ (make sure you empty crash) Then you go to the applications website and reinstall it. Dont worry about losing any of your music because thats in a separate folder. Thats it---it works.
