ITunes overwrote data on my iPhone
So my iPhone 4 was stolen while I was travelling. I bought an iPhone 5C to replace it.
When I came home, weeks later, I connected my phone to my computer and said 'yes' when iTunes asked whether I wanted to retrieve the backup from the computer. I didn't think it would overwrite the photos that I had taken since buying the new phone and all the texts that I had received, but it did.
Is that stuff just gone?

Unfortunately yes. The reloaded backup replace the current information with what was in the backup.
This actually is an incorrect answer. Please go to this website and download the program that will scan your deleted files from your apple mobile devices.

I have been trying to contact the support team however my support has expired, I connected my iphone 4s to my computer and it started to sync nothing new, however, when I looked at my phone it actually restored my phone to a previous back up and i have none of my photos/videos I have taken between the last backup and now.
How can i get these files back off my phone I have tried a number of restore software sites but they only see what was restored to my phone via the back-up from Itunes not the pictures that where taken over the last two weeks.
Please can anyone help...It doesn't do that by itself. You have to manually initiate a restore.
If you weren't backing up to iCloud and you didn't have Photo Stream on so the photos could upload to the cloud, they're gone. You can't recover them. -
My daughter has previously had an ipod which was linked to my itunes iphone account.
she now has a new iphone and has linked this to that account and now she receives all my contacts apps etc when she syncs her account.

when I was talking on phone, suddenly the phone was switched off.
i tried to switch it on but it gave the message....connect to itunes for set up.
when I connected it to itunes...it gave the message, itunes can not read data from this iphone, restore it to factory settings. It also said while restoring ypu will lose all media data but you can restore the contacts.
I restored the factory settings....the phone was on recovery mode...it was verified by itunes and all that..but in the end it again said that iphone has some problem and can not function right now.
after that when ever i connect it with itunes, it gives the message, it can not activate the iphone further, try again later or contact customer service.
What to do now?????? Customer service people say..it is hardware problemIf it's a hardware problem, then the phone will need to be replaced.

hi , can any one help me with a problem ,,, i own an iphone 4 and creates my account in itunes months later my friend bought an ipod and created an account also but created in my pc and now both get sync in the same pc and all my personal data from the iphone 4 keeps getting copy and the ipod gets it and have acces to my personal data and apps gets my mail etc , can any one help me with this issue?
thnk youSorry to hear of your problem, but any hardware in a computer can fail - that includes the hard drive, the logic board, etc, etc. Fortunately, it usually doesn't happen that soon; however, I've read of hard drives failing within 6 months.
So, since you did not purchase the extended Applecare Protection Plan (3 years coverage), you will need to make a decision to repair or sell it as is. I would always purchase 3 year coverage for an all in one or a laptop because repairs are expensive and at least I'd be covered for 3 years.
We can't speculate on whether there should be a recall or not; these forums are for user to user assistance with technical problems. In your case, there is nothing we can help with since you've already gotten a diagnosis. -

thanx , barry in irelandSyncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up your phone manually before syncing, you can restore your phone from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Set up your iTunes account, disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

I just got a new phone today the iphone 5c and i plugged it into itunes. i wanted to get all of my data from my iphone 4s but when i synced my phone all of my iphone 3 data was on my new phone how do i get my iphone 4 data on my new phone?
Did you choose the wrong back up? There should be a drop box when you go to "Restore from Back up" in iTunes and your iPhone is plugged in, on the Summary page. Choose the correct back up. If you can't find one, and you still have your device, back up your iPhone 4 again and then choose that back up. Or check for an old iCloud back up if you have one.

I really need help. I tried to back up the data on my iphone 4 on the iTunes version 11.01 but failed.
The error message read : the backup was corrupt or not compatible with iPhone. can anyone advise me on this,

Greatly appreciated!this usally happens when the backup you tool was from an old ios version. Two options that you can try is
1. Delete the back up by going to edit> preferences> devices & delete back up on itunes & try backing up again
2. Update the ios software of the iphone4 & then take a back up. then try restoring

Do you have an installed email program such as Microsoft Outlook? If your email is through an online login, such as Gmail, etc, then one will have to create an email association with a program such as Microsoft Outlook on the PC for this Scan to Email system to function.
