ITunes Party Shuffle not working

Has anyone had trouble with the iTunes party shuffle not working? I have unistalled iTunes and reinstalled iTunes hoping that would fix the problem but I just keep getting an alphabetical list of my songs in the party shuffle mode.

  • Party Shuffle not working...help?

    I can't get my Party Shuffle to work. I'm running version 7.0.1 and when I select Party Shuffle there's nothing on the playlist. Then I select a source (doesn't seem to matter what I select here...Music, or Purchased or a Playlist) and shuffle and I get an error message that says "The playlist "xxx" does not contain any songs playable by Party Shuffle. Are you sure you want to choose this playlist?" This is the first time I've actually tried this, although I've been importing music to my itunes for some time. Thanks!

    Usually, you will only get that message when choosing an empty playlist or one containing streams only.
    Any other playlist should work.
    I've tried to get the same problem as you're having, using various settings in iTunes 7.0.2, but I did not succeed.
    iTunes 7.0.2 has a number of bugs fixes. Can you (and are you willing to) upgrade to iTunes 7.0.2 and tell us if the problem is solved or still persists?

    I recently moved my music from my PC to my laptop via the iTunes CD Backup. Since then, the iTunes party shuffle, which i use when I'm doing homework won't shuffle the songs, it instead just plays them in alphabetical order by title. how do i change this?

    It seems it's even worse. At the bottom of the page, where it says select source, I picked a playlist that has my 5 star rated songs, yet the main list in the shuffle area stubbornly remains the same.

    If party shuffle or visualizer will not refresh... select all songs in PS/list and delete, the visualizer needs default settings, reset... start visualizer full screen and type 'D'.... type '?' for more options.
    Once done they seem to disappear... who knows why ???

    Tried to sed the partyshuffle funtion.. told it to use a certain smart playlist i use as source. I-Tunes then tells me: That the playlist does not contain any numbers party shuffle can play??????????????????? If I just select the playlist and pres splay songs work fine. Oh and forward button soemtimes stop working.

    You need to make sure all songs have a checkmark in front of their name.

  • ITunes 11 Shuffle not working

    While attempt to shuffle all songs, I am only able to shuffle within the album selected. 
    I have selected By Songs from the Controls dropdown.  I've deselected (grey) the repeat oval and selected the shuffle cross (blue) in the Play window.  Any clue?  Thanks ahead of time.

    The ALBUMS view allows you to select and shuffle by album.
    The ARTISTS view allows you to select and shuffle by artist.
    The GENRES view allows you to select and shuufle by genre.
    For more involved selections, make a playlist. The playlist can then be controlled to shuffle how you want.
    When you have finished, you can then delete the playlist.

  • HT204406 Since updating to ios6 on my iPhone 4S iTunes Match has not worked. The app stays open for about five seconds before crashing. With ios5 it was great and worth paying for. Now it is utterly useless. Apple, please listen and fix this problem.

    Ever since I updated to ios 6 on my iPhone 4S, iTunes Match has not worked.
    I have been through the process of deleting my iTunes control files, and that worked temporarily, but now I cannot listen to music through the service.
    It shows my artists and albums, then takes forever to access the songs (often more than 10 minutes - and yes, that's using WiFi), more often than not crashing before it gets to that point, then repeatedly crashing when I try to open the Music App, so I can't even access things I've downloaded.
    Has anyone else found a solution?
    Apple, please listen up - I am paying you for the iTunes Match service that is utterly useless. Fix it please.

    After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery.  I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on.

    She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old).
    After you ruined the iPhone with DIY, Apple won't touch it anymore. You should have asked before all these had happened.
    I'm an android user myself and I love rooting/flashing new ROMS, so if jailbreaking her phone or doing some kind of super-restore with 3rd party programs might help, I'm all for it-

  • Shuffle not working properly

    My Itunes library is not working properly. The main problem is the shuffle function. Clicking the shuffle icon to turn it blue and shuffle the play order of the songs does not work. If I sort by name, some of the songs are shuffled where as others will play one after the other (all the tracks in an album).
    Also, the start and stop times no longer work, nor does the volume adjustment.
    Uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix the problem.
    Any ideas?

    Possible Cause:
    It sounds like the affected songs are encoded in a format that the iPod shuffle cannot read. Here is a knowledge base article that list the compatible formats:

    Troubleshoot:
    To check the format of a song, right click it, and select Get Info. A window will come up giving details like, Kind, Size, Bit Rate.
    It seems there are multiple songs with this problem so it may be quicker to add a new column to your Song list that will show 'Kind' Follow:

    Solution:
    If this is the case, then I would suggest saving a copy of the song to a compatible format. Instructions for doing this can be found at:

    Note: You are saving a COPY of the song. It does not convert the song, but duplicates the song and the converts the duplicate. So if you do not wish to keep the original (incompatible formated) song then I would suggest deleting it, so you don't get the two songs confused.

    It is not possible to "toggle back and forth" at will. If you associate a device with an Apple ID and you have iTunes Match enabled you must wait 90 days before you can associate it with another Apple ID. See this Apple KB article for more information: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

    iTunes STORE not “connectable” with my otherwise perfectly-working internet connection, viable, up and running for all other uses.
    Simply put, firstly, I can't connect to the internet when I click on Radio.  People are quite suspicious that this is Apple incompetence or your company's famous arrogance for this commonly-suffered problem that you won't or “can’t” fix.
    Read the many web comments and you won’t be pleased with yourselves: the suspicion is that if you ruin internet radio on iTunes, Apple will somehow make more money on music downloads, etc. Bull.
    Also, thirdly, my old playlist of 20 or so internet radio stations in the Ambient category STILL PLAYS !
    Then fourth, I installed the latest available version of QuickTime Player 7.app Version 7.6.6 but it didn’t solve the problem either. I had QuickTime Player.app Version 10.2, but substituted what Apple website said was the latest, LOWER NUMBERED QuickTime Player version of 7.6.6
    Fifth, I can't connect to iTunes store no matter what I do or what user group's advice I try. So I can’t buy or download anything from iTunes. Bad for business.
    Sixth, I updated to the latest version of iTunes but this weird problem remains. All suggested Apple fixes or user group fixes are useless. Where is Apple’s famous technical competency, vaunted customer support?, and user-friendly product reputation? Get it back, please.

    Apple ACCOUNT ID, and iTunes ID password, works but not to access iTunes with my healthy internet connection.
    Apple store id It works via direct internet connetion but not through iTunes.  Very strange.

    Try starting Aperture with the command and option keys held down.  You'll get 3 options.
    Try each, starting at the top, in order, checking after each to see if it fixes the issue.
