Itunes password incorrect

I am so close to giving my 3GS away and never looking at another apple product. I have, since the update to OS5 being trying to get my Apps to update. But it won't. I have chnaged which computer I sync to (maybe that is the problem), but I have authorized it as a second computer. I had to go back to my old computer to get the old Apps. When I try and "update all" from the app store it says my itunes password is incorrect. I have changed my password three times trying to get it to work. I can log into the itunes store from both computers and I even log out and log back in on the phone, and it lets me in. Then when I try and update my apps I get shafted with the ridiculous message again. This is a problem that Apple needs to figure out, becuase until it does (and I am clearly not the only one based on the message boards) I cannot update or buy any more apps, which is exactly why I bought this phone. My contract is up and I am really tempted to try a phone that actually works. I should also say that I am not an AOL user and my phone is not jailbroken.

My friend is having the same problem.

I'm having the same problem as well.  I use keychain access often to remind me of my passwords and was happy (initially) to see one for "iphone backup".  When I entered it I got the same error message:
"The password you entered to unlock your iPhone backup file was incorrect. Please try again."
    Really frustrating.
I searched many ways online, finally I tried "iPhone Backup Unlocker" to help me unlock encrypted backup password efficiently!

  • My AppleTV says my iTunes password is incorrect, but it works on all other Apple devices. Help?

My AppleTV says my iTunes password is incorrect, but it is correct when logging in via my Macbook, iPad and iPhone.  Do I need to reset it entirely in order for it to work on all 3 devices?  This happened randomly without me logging out and back in, and I've already tried restarting the AppleTV.  I really dont want to have to create another new password.

Change your router channel number.  Most times this works & is all you have to do.

  • Itunes account password incorrect on mac

I recently changed my account password at appleid.account.com and updated the password on all my acounts and devices, however everytime I open itunes on my mac it tells me my password is incorrect.  I type in my the new password, go to my itunes account update my passord online and save, still no joy.  I'm obiviously missing  something and need an idea of where else my passwaord may be stored so I can fix this minor headache.

It doesn't matter if the e-mail account is still active or not. The e-mail address she gave for the iTunes account simply acts as a username. And even if she changed the password to access the e-mail account at some point, her iTunes password would still be the same. (Unless she changed it there too.)She should try using the same username and password that she used with iTunes when setting up her account.

  • Ipod touch doesn't recognized by itunes password

My ipod touch doesn't recognized my itunes password, so I am not able to purchase anything from the ipod touch, but I am able to do it through my computer.

Try going to Settings>Store and sign out and then sign back in.
This is assuming that your problem is that when you try to make a purchase the PW you enter at the prompt is said to be incorrect.

  • Hotmail Password Incorrect - nothing works!  dang it!

    Hi,
Looking for help after updating an iPod to iTunes 10.5.  Hotmail email account no longer works.
I have deleted the email account on the iPod and tried to re-establish the Hotmail account in the Add Account section using 3 methods: Microsoft Exchange, Windows Live Hotmail, and Other.  In all three cases, I received the "Password Incorrect" error message.
I have also reset my Hotmail password on desktop computer, and this didn't change anything.
I also wiped & restored the iPod in an attempt to start from scratch, but still got the same error message.
Not sure what else to try since I'm getting same error message using every conceivable way to establish the Hotmail account on my iPod.  Again, it worked perfectly prior to recent 10.5 update.
Also, fyi, haven't been able to establish my iCloud account yet, either, which may be related to this as well?  not sure.
Thanks in advance for specific recommendations (beyond the methods I've already tried).  Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, just to clarify, the iPod was recently updated, now running iOS 5.0

  • Apple ID Not found/Password incorrect

    Hiya,
I am constantly receiving an error when I try to login to the app store/ itunes. I can access my account online so my password isn't incorrect. I have reset it nevertheless but still I continue to receive the 'Apple ID Not found/Password Incorrect' error.
I was wondering if anybody else has had such problems?
    Thanks in advance!

Ahh, so it isn't just me? I had asked a few friends to check and they say that they have been able to login successfully. Perhaps it's an internal error. Thank you for replying
    Edit:
Yes, I am putting the correct Apple ID in. It was working up until 5 minutes ago. I can login on the Apple website fine but not via my iTunes, app store or the iTunes on my iPhone and iPad

  • HT5622 When I try to download an app from app store, it is asking for Cloud ID and Password.....but though i submitted correct password...it is not allowing to download....stating "Password incorrect". What is the way out...!!

Suggest a way out for download an app, when phone shows a message-----password incorrect; though i gave correct password. Even i have logged into icloud and ensured the password is correct.

You may have to either sign in to the website to confirm your account details (or do that through iTunes on the computer) or go to iforgot.apple.com to reset your password again.

  • Password incorrect when restoring from backup

I have restored my iPhone last night. After that I was trying to restore from backup, but iTunes keep asking me for password. I did not set any password for the backup before this. I have tried all the possible passwords but it keeps showing password incorrect! How can I solve this?

First, reboot your computer. Sometimes the request for a password is mistaken and rebooting will clear it. Then connect the phone and click on its name in iTunes. Is "Encrypt backup" checked? If it is then at some time in the past (and it could have been 6 years ago if you had an iPhone then) the box was checked and a password was entered. Or you have a corporate MS Exchange email account and your IT Administrator required that the backup be encrypted.
Either way you have to figure out the password. Try unchecking "encrypt backup". It will prompt for a password. Make an educated guess. It is a password that you have used at some time in the past. (Unchecking the box is a faster way of guessing than trying to restore.)
There is no other way to restore that backup, unless you have maintained iCloud backups. These do not require or allow passwords, because they are already encrypted with your Apple ID password.
If you are desperate there is a commercial product that can break SOME backup passwords if they are not too strong. Visit elcomsoft.com for more information. This tool is intended for law enforcement use, and is priced accordingly, however, they have a trial version that will give you the first two characters of the password.

  • Can't remember iTunes password

I know my apple I'd and the password for it, but when I log into iTunes store if I put in the same password it says it is incorrect, I guess I forgot it. How can I recover iTunes password from an iPad?

You need to do it from iTunes.

  • My iphone won't accept my iTunes password for it's updates. How do I fix it?

My iPhone won't accept my iTunes password for it's updates. How do I fix this? Or what is the number of an actual person (no AI) that I can contact to help me?

Hi,  Did you find a fix for this?  I have the same issue, I've logged out of everything I can think of on my phone and logged back in again and it appears to accept the password.  Yet when I try and update my apps it says that the password is incorrect!  Ive reset my passwords both AOL and Apple.  When I log on via a PC it accepts them, but when I try and buy / update something via the app store on my phone it says that the password is incorrect.  Ive made sure that software levels are up to date etc.
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks

  • I can't access my ipad password incorrect

Help!  Everytime I open my ipad, a message comes up that says: Password Incorrect.  Enter the password for the Hotmail account "Hotmail".  I've tried my hotmail password - no luck.  I've tried old passwords, new passwords, passwords for my itunes, passwords for my ipad...  no luck.  I can't access anything on my ipad until I enter the correct password.  HELP!!!

Something sounds very wrong... I'd recommend restoring the device if you can't access ANYTHING at all. Or try and make a booking for an Apple Retail Store if there's one near you.
Restoring obviously isn't a prime option, but if you can't access anything, it may be the only one really, if you can access the settings you can delete and re-add the account, which would fix that 'Enter Password' message

  • TS3899 Message keeps appearing " cannot get mail, ID or password incorrect" but getting email just fine

I recently upgraded to IOS 5, as well as connected to a cable network instead of dsl, updated iTunes and sync'd my iPad to my Windows XL and got on board with iCloud. Now I keep getting a message that says, " cannot get mail, user ID or password incorrect" with options of choosing OK or going to settings. If I choose the settings, it brings me to account info with my email address and password ( dots) Then if I erase the password and put it back in, it says it's incorrect and if I save it, I may not receive or send mail. If I go directly to my account from the settings icon, and erase my password there instead, and then re- enter it, then it verifies it. Regardless of anything I do, the same message keeps popping up and is very annoying, as well as interrupting. What's wrong, please?

Thanks for answering, but I should've clarified... The message keeps popping up every couple of minutes. Sometimes as soon as I click OK, it comes back again. I tried deleting the account and re-entering it again, but that didn't work. I tried resetting my iPad by holding both the on and the off switch down until the apple appears...still no help. I went to my PC, and logged into my account and viewed my email without any problem. Is this a problem with my iPad or Yahoo? I called a Yahoo line, and was told I had reached the wrong extension, since it was a line for technical assistance only, and then he hung up. What can I do next?
