Itunes - PC to Mac??

I had a windows desktop PC and I just recently brought a MacBook. I have absolutely no idea how to move or copy my itunes library to my MacBook? I have tried to use my Ipod to transfer the files but it's not working. Do I need to reformat my Ipod to transfer the library from my old computer to my new one?
If anyone could help me that would be great!

I have the same problem, but not only that I also have all of my iPhone info on this PC that I want to move to my mac.
How do I move all of this? Do i need an external HD or can I move bits and pieces with a usb memory stick. I've found other directions but it doesn't seem to work.

I have found the radio station I enjoy listening to in the iTunes Radio List. Is there anyway iTunes (and my Mac) can be set to come-on from Sleep mode and start playing that Radio Station at specific times of the day?
Any App or plug-in that does that?

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
1. In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
2. Export the playlist (as .m3u works well). Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
3. In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
4. Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
5. For "alarm" select Open File.
6. Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open. It will probably be some default entry (like iCal). Click on it will allow you to select "other." Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time. You don't need to keep iCal running. If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do. Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button. Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

I bought the movie Beautiful Creatures from iTunes on my Mac Air. I was in the middle of downloading it, when iTunes crashed and I had to reopen it. It sounds like you have a crossfade turned on. Check the Playback tab in iTunes Preferences to see if anything is selected that would give that kind of behavior.

I can see other discs such as music and stuff so I know I have installed it correctly but how come I can't see the blank disc that I need to burn?

You can't burn discs remotely, you can only read data discs remotely (i.e. you cannot play movie DVDs either).
Either copy the files to the remote computer or get an external drive.

I've already right-clicked on the application, clicked "get info", and changed it so all people listed in the "Sharing & Permissions" section have the "read & write" privilage.
The error message is referring to your iTunes library, not your iTunes application.
You need to check and fix the permissions of the iTunes folder in your iTunes library. This is by default located in your "Music" folder.
Select the folder Music > iTunes in the Finder, right click on it or Ctrl Click and click "Get Info". At the bottom of the contextual window thatwill pop up, disclose the Sharing and Permissions brick, change your status from Read only to Read & Write. You may need to click the padlock icon to make changes.

I can't sync my iPod to iTunes on my mac or iPod.

I have a ipod touch 5th gen and i have enver had problems with it until now, I can't update any apps nor can i sync my ipod to my mac. I don't think its my apple id because I can sign into itunes on my mac but not on my ipod. When I plug my ipod into my mac it shows that my ipod is conencted but when i press sync it says " This ipod cannot be synced because the sync session failed to start". When I try updating apps on my ipod it says "cannot connect to itunes store". My ipod is up to date and so is itunes on my mac, I have 16 gb of free space left and have reseted my wifi 3 times but I don't think thats the problem.

If your computer is running an OS X prior to Snow Leopard 10.6,
the answer (if it is an Intel-based Mac; not old PowerPC model)
would be to buy the retail Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD from Apple
for about $20, and install it. Then update that to 10.6.8 by using
the installed Snow Leopard online to get Combo Update v1.1 for
Snow Leopard 10.6.8. After that is installed & updated, run the
system's Software Update again, to see what else is available to
that system.
Later systems can then be looked into at Mac App Store, once
the computer is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
And if your computer is a Power PC (G4/G5, etc) and has no
Core2Duo kind of CPU -- See "About this Mac" in apple menu
to disclose the general info about your Mac. Also you can see
even more by clicking on "More Info" when looking in there...
If it isn't an Intel-based Mac, it can't run a system past 10.5.8.

Hello everybody, Im trying to update my ITunes on my MAC (laptop) to the newer version so I can then be able to update the latest updates for my Iphone-3G. I don’t require a complete reinstall just need to be able to update my itunes.
What I have tried so far is I had my MAC search for update’s and it said that I should update to (ITunes version 10 . 6 . 3 ) So I asked it to do the update but after 2hrs of waiting for it to download/update it then puts up a message saying the following- (In order to continue installation, please close the following application: ITunes).
When I tried to do this another message comes up that says- (The update ITunes can’t be installed. The following install step failed: run preupgrade script for Apple mobile device support. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
I have also tried to run the update while having closed ITunes before I even start the update but the same problem happens after waiting about 2hrs.
Some one that had the same problem said this might be happening in the older operating systems. But that does not make sense because surely Apple want customers who own a MAC and i-phone to still buy from iTunes.
My MAC is about 4-5years old. I have a i-phone.3G,
